In fact, they get more attention than most dogs because we hand select homes where the environment is extremely healthy emotionally and physically for a family dog. They have kids to play with, usually an adult home most of the day, sometimes another doggie playmate and of course, there are two families watching out for their health. We import our parent dog's lines, so they are from International Champion Lines. This is Ace for example. We raised Ace as a puppy and he now lives in Washington, DC with our sister, as a stud for our breeding program. He has 15 International Champions and 1 World Champion in his 5 generation pedigree. Several of his puppies are now grown and are currently in our Guardian Program having mini teddybear Goldendoodle puppies. We feel that because our puppies will be family and service dogs instead of hunting or agility dogs, we think that the mellow, laid back temperament of the English Golden will be best for our lines. English creams have a wonderful body style for Teddybear Goldendoodles. They are blocky and thick. This offsets the lean, athletic build of the poodle and perfectly compliments them. They are the parent dog for us! Our Puppies Our puppies are thoroughly and highly socialized. Our puppies are handled daily by children of all ages. Our Goldendoodle puppies are exposed to every household noise because they are raised in a home. They are in the dining room or living room areas so that they are close by all the daily activities in the home. This also gives everyone in the home convenient access to socialize them as part of family life. As they grow, we integrate outside playtime for the puppies part of the day, so that they learn the dog world as well as the people world. This would mean a 5-month-old Goldendoodle puppy should get around 25 minutes of exercise twice a day. Adult and growing Goldendoodles love to swim, which can provide them with valuable exercise. Their playful nature and high agility are great for catching balls and sticks. Because Goldendoodles can have such variations in size, their exercise needs will vary too. For example, a miniature Goldendoodle will require far less yard space and exercise than a larger one. They are obedient and athletic and love learning and responding to commands. While Goldendoodles can begin responding to basic commands as early as 4 months of age, formal training should only begin at months. The best training method for any dog is using positive reinforcement , which is the concept that rewarding good behavior will lead to more of that behavior in the future. They will benefit greatly from agility training too, as they are amazingly agile and eager to please. Their fur type can vary widely due to their mix of genetics. They can have straight, silky hair like their Golden Retriever ancestors or the wiry, curly hair that comes with Poodle genes. Mostly, their coats are a happy medium between the two. Depending on your particular Goldendoodle, their coat may also need regular trimming. One of the best-known traits of Goldendoodles is the fact that they hardly, if ever, shed. If your Goldendoodle has curly or wavy hair like its Poodle parents, regular, daily brushing is essential. If their coat is more similar to a Golden Retriever, regular brushing is not as essential. Both Poodles and Golden Retrievers are prone to hip dysplasia, so this can be a concern in Goldendoodles. Other common issues among these breeds are eye problems and ear infections. Regular eye checks with a vet are recommended, and making sure your Goldendoodles ear canal remains dry will help mitigate any ear issues, especially if they have big, droopy ears. If you notice your dog scratching and itching incessantly, a trip to the vet is in order. It is widely recommended to neuter males and spay females unless you intend on breeding. This has many associated health benefits. For males, it can prevent testicular cancer, lessen aggression, and prevent them from wandering off looking for females, which can get them lost or injured. Spaying a female will assist in preventing uterine infections and cancer. It is recommended to spay a female before her first heat, as this will help prevent these complications. If you intend to breed a female Goldendoodle, you should wait until she has experienced at least one or two heat cycles , as it is far better for her health. Minor Conditions. Therefore, there is no guarantee that your purchased Goldendoodle puppy will fit within your desired weight or size range. Goldendoodle Energy or Activity Level Goldendoodles or Groodles generally have moderate energy levels with smaller Goldendoodles having fewer energy levels than their larger kin. They require playtime or regular good walks and generally regular exercises every day. They can also serve as perfect therapy dogs. Both Parents of the standard Goldendoodle tend to be quick and smart learners. Start socializing and training early and use positive reinforcement methods such as play, food, and praise as rewards to make a great and lovable companion. Also, Goldendoodles are perceived to be hypoallergenic dogs. This means they can be surrounded by people with dog allergies. This is mainly because the poodle one of the parent breeds , is also perceived to be hypoallergenic. But caused by dander which is the dead skin cells shed by all dogs and even people. Note: No scientific evidence currently exists saying that a breed or hybrid is more allergenic or less allergenic than any other breed. People with allergies can react differently to different dogs, so no reputable breeder can give a guarantee that their dog is hypoallergenic. Cross Breeding a Perfect Goldendoodle Just to achieve a certain temperament, working ability, and appearance, humans have been cross-breeding dog types for millennia. This is mainly how most purebreds like the Australian Shephard, the Affenpinscher, the Brussels griffon, the Leonberger, the Doberman pinscher, the German wirehaired pointer, and the Black Russian Terrier, became popular. But simply cross-breeding two breeds constantly is not enough. To be able to achieve consistency in size, temperament, and appearance, breeders need to carefully select puppies with the desired characteristics and breed them for several generations to establish their traits. The demand for hybrids like the Goldendoodle became high in the last years. This is because people generally want dogs that are different from the dogs they are used to. Goldendoodle Generations Although responsible breeding can reduce the risk of potential problems, their pedigree or Goldendoodle generation plays an important role in their physical traits and risk of potential health problems. The first-generation Groodle always inherits the shedding gene from the golden retriever and sheds everything from a small number to an almost complete retriever. Because F1s always almost shed, I recommend getting a genetically coat-tested doodle from multiple generations. What are the Labeling standards for Goldendoodle Generations? By generation we mean f1 versus f1b: F1 Goldendoodle puppies have one Poodle parent dog and one Golden Retriever parent dog. F1b Goldendoodle puppies have at least one Goldendoodle parent dog. It is easier to control important issues such as coat shedding, personality, temperament, health concerns and adult size when breeding f1b Goldendoodle puppies. Most breeders will choose to specialize in either f1 or f1b Goldendoodles, although some breeders will breed both dogs.
