Our Generations of Bernedoodles Depending on the parent dogs, there are many genetic variations of Bernedoodles. We have Standard, Miniature, and Tiny Bernedoodles. Our Bernedoodles come in three breed sizes - Standard, Miniature, and Tiny. Our F1 Standard Bernedoodles will usually stand inches at the shoulder and weigh or more pounds. Most standard Bernedoodles are in the pound range. Females are usually smaller than males. Our F1 Mini Bernedoodles usually stand between 17 and 22 inches tall and weigh anywhere from 25 to 65 pounds with most of them weighing lbs. Again females tend to be smaller than males. They are sized similar to our F1 Minis. F1B Tiny Bernedoodles usually stand between 12 and 17 inches tall and weigh between 15 and 25 pounds. Again, these puppies tend to be more hypoallergenic and usually less shedding than the F1 Bernedoodles. Differences between male and female Bernedoodles. We are often asked if there is a difference between boys' and girls' personality. Our experience is that there is a lot more difference from puppy to puppy in a litter even in the same gender than there is between boys and girls. Males might tend to be more affectionate and goofy, but also a bit more stubborn while females can be more independent but easier to train and less stubborn. The differences are actually quite subtle, and both males and females make absolutely amazing pets. Temperament is more important than gender when looking for the puppy that is the right fit for you. Male Bernedoodles tend to be larger than females, but beyond that there is not a major difference between the genders. Our Bernedoodles have various coat colors and types. Coat colors are generally a combination of both of the parents' breeds. Almost all of our F1 puppies have the beautiful tri-colored markings of the Bernese. This tri-colored coat is a less common variation and is generally the most sought after. You will see the most variation in color in our F1b puppies. One of the huge attractions to the bernedoodle is its hypoallergenic coat. Bernedoodle coats can vary in thickness, consistency, and color. In an F1 first generation breeding, you might get a puppy with a coat that looks more similar to a Poodle and get another puppy with a coat more like a Bernese Sometimes even within the same litter. While most of our bernedoodles have minimal to no shedding, a curly, Poodle-type coat will shed less than the one that is more straight, like the Bernese Mountain Dog. We encourage a more curly coat for people that have allergy issues. If you have intense allergies you should consider a curlier coated F1 or an F1B puppy. Bernedoodle coats are generally put into three main categories - Curly, Wavy, and Straight. Please note when looking at the examples below that the appearance of our Bernedoodles is greatly affected by whether they are groomed and how short the coats are if groomed. Be sure to consider this when looking at the pictures. The curls on this coat are usually tight with a soft texture much like what you would see on a Poodle. Curly coats may still shed, but they shed the hair upon themselves rather than on your floor. Unfortunately, this shedding upon themselves is what makes it necessary for them to be brushed daily and trimmed frequently. The curly coated Bernedoodle is usually the most suitable for owners who have an allergy to dog dander. This coat is very free-flowing and often has a lightly kinked or wavy appearance. Most people with allergies to dog dander i. Note, if you are unsure if this coat type will be fine for you, we suggest that you get further allergy testing done as well as take some time to interact with doodles and their humans in your area before purchasing a puppy. Be sure to consider this when looking at any pictures. Here is an example of the same dog with the pictures taken before and after a haircut. How you groom your dog is a big part of what gives them the look they have. Due to their well-balanced temperament and high trainability, our Bernedoodles are often trained as therapy dogs. They are a really excellent fit for the training regimen and tend to enjoy having a job to do. As a therapy dog, they get lots of human interaction, which they thrive on. Plus, it's a job that allows their cuddly and affectionate personality to shine! Our Bernedoodles do well in apartments. Both Standard and Min Bernedoodles will adapt well to apartment living. Their Bernese Mountain Dog mom is a working breed however, so they need to get plenty of exercise and attention to remain happy and healthy. They don't like to be left alone for long periods of time because they love human interaction, but are usually fine when left alone for shorter periods of time. They are a true companion dog. One of the reasons our Bernedoodles do so well as therapy dogs is that they are true companion dogs. They are very intelligent and are often described as having a happy-go-lucky, goofy, and charming temperament. They are happiest when spending time with their families. Bernedoodles love human interaction, affection, and attention and enjoy playtime and cuddle-time equally. Our Bernedoodles are excellent around children and the elderly. They are a dog who simply wants to love and be loved in return, which makes them a fantastic companion for single owners and for families. A Bernedoodle puppy can certainly light up your life with love and laughter. Though they can sometimes be stubborn with training at first, they are eager to please and always happy to receive plenty of cuddles. The English Cream Golden Retriever is not a separate dog breed from the Golden Retriever ; it is simply a rarer coat color variation. These Golden Retrievers tend to have light white or cream-colored coats instead of honey, golden-brown, or reddish coats. As they are still standard Golden Retrievers, they are recognized by the AKC and other canine organizations and can be registered. An English Cream Golden Retriever has all the same traits as any other Golden Retriever; they are one of the most popular dog breeds and tend to be open, friendly, and make great family pets. One of the facts about Golden Retrievers is that they are considered one of the friendliest dog breeds. As long as they are socialized and trained, Goldens tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. They are even known for being open and friendly with strangers. As one of the kid-friendly dog breeds , Golden Retrievers love attention. These dogs tend to be energetic, full of personality, and are devoted to their families. They also tend to be excitable, which means they can be prone to barking. Training your dog to stop barking early on can help curb this habit and help prevent it from becoming a nuisance. Due to their friendly, gentle nature and intelligence, Goldens can often be found working as service, therapy, or search and rescue dogs. English Cream Golden Retrievers are highly adaptable dogs. Their high energy and exuberance make them better suited for homes with yards where they can run. They can adapt to apartment living, but you will need to dedicate a lot of time every day to ensure they get enough attention, mental stimulation, and exercise. Goldens fare well in most climates. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to heat and extreme cold. Because they bond so closely with their families and are one of the most affectionate dog breeds , they do not like to spend long periods of time alone. Some potential health concerns to be aware of in an English Cream Golden Retriever can include canine cataracts, progressive retinal atrophy, hip dysplasia, and elbow dysplasia. Good breeding practices reduce the risk of these health issues and make a big difference in the health of puppies. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. You can also ask about any health tests or clearances that have been done. The national breed club recommends hip and elbow evaluations, an NCL DNA test, an ophthalmologist evaluation, and a cardiac exam at a minimum. English Cream Golden Retrievers are intelligent and eager to please. This makes them highly trainable dogs that are a good fit for owners of all experience levels. Not only are they one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners , but they also tend to excel at obedience competitions and other dog sports. As one of the smartest dog breeds , Golden Retrievers can get bored easily. Because they pick up things quickly, they can get bored with too much repetition in training. If your dog has mastered basic commands , move on to other activities or more advanced commands. Anything you learn will help and will only strengthen the bond you are building with your puppy. Plus, there are several other benefits of puppy training classes including socialization. English Cream Goldens may have a lighter-colored coat, but they still have the classic longer Golden Retriever coat that will shed a big year-round and heavier as the seasons change. You will want to bathe them as needed and get your Golden professionally groomed a few times a year, especially as the seasons change. Trimming nails once or twice a month keeps them from growing too long. Weekly ear checks, along with careful cleanings as needed, can help prevent ear infections. Daily tooth brushing is ideal to keep tartar buildup at bay. This, plus cleanings at the vet when needed, is good dental care for dogs and can help prevent painful dental diseases later in life. Golden Retrievers are known for being high-energy dogs. Like Labrador Retrievers , they also tend to have an extended puppyhood. They do tend to calm down a little as they grow into adulthood, but will still have a lot of energy. Daily walks plus some playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough to keep this dog happy and healthy. Goldens tend to be athletic and versatile dogs. So, once they are done growing and the vet has cleared them for higher-impact activities, you can take them running with you, play frisbee, go hiking, train for dog sports, and more. As one of the most active dog breeds , you will likely run out of energy before they do and they will likely be up for even more activity if you are. An English Cream Golden Retriever generally lives for years on average. Golden Retrievers are one of the dog breeds of famous dogs.

Like many large breeds, a German Shepherd dog is not considered fully grown until they are about 18 months old. Female German Shepherds continue to fill out until they are around two years old, while the male German Shepherd growth rate continues until they reach two and a half years of age. Males are larger and require more time to fill out their chest and abdomen. As you can see by the German Shepherd weight chart, these dogs can continue to grow until they are three years old, but the majority of growth occurs within 24 months. If your GSD is older than 36 months and continues to put on weight, contact your veterinarian to ensure weight gain does not lead to obesity. How big should a 6-month-old German Shepherd be? A six-month-old German Shepherd puppy will be quite large, as many German Shepherds undergo massive growth spurts between two and five months old. By six months, a male German Shepherd will weigh 53 pounds on average, whereas a female will weigh about 46 pounds. How much bigger will my German Shepherd get? There are a few ways to gauge how much bigger a German Shepherd will get. First, check your puppy's age. If your GSD is younger than two years old, they definitely have room to keep growing! Another way to tell if your pup still has a lot of growing to do is their paw size. Do their paws look large compared to their legs and body? Useful Reads Dogs come in all sizes, shapes, and heights, from tiny teacup pooches to the gentle giants that we simply cannot get enough of. The height your dog grows to be is particularly important not only due to personal preference but also as it is part of your dog's identity and potential life quality. How tall your puppy will grow up to is dependent on a number of factors, but the most important are breed and individual genetics. In the sections below, we shall answer all the questions you probably have about figuring out your dog's potential height, from what determines it to how to predict it. That way, you will have a great idea of what to expect from your pooch before or once you bring them home with you. After all, is said and done, size really does matter when it comes to your dog's height, both for you and your dog. How tall your dog will grow to become depends on several factors. In the sections below, we shall go deeper into the most important of these factors to help you better understand your dog and its height potential. Breed Each dog breed has its expected height range. This is based on genetics that is passed down from the puppy to its parents. Therefore, if you wish to know what your dog's height potential is, it might help to take a look at its dog breed's weight and height ranges. However, you will notice that the ranges are often quite wide as many other factors are at play when determining your dog's potential height. Gender Most dog breeds display what is referred to as sexual dimorphism. This phenomenon refers to differences in physical characteristics between male and female members of the same species. In this case, the dimorphism results in male dogs typically being taller than their female counterparts. As a result, you will notice that the average height ranges given for your dog's specific breed are divided into two sets of ranges, one for males and one for females. Diet Your dog's height is determined mainly by its bones, but the muscles could add a few significant inches to the final height value. The dog's diet largely determines both bone and muscle growth. As such, dogs that have a healthy diet are more likely to reach their full height potential than those that are malnourished in one way or another. Health Status Studies have shown that sickly dogs are less likely to achieve their full height and size potential than dogs with no recurring health issues. These issues mainly refer to health problems that affect the dogs in their crucial puppyhood, where most of the growth happens. The conditions could be anything from chronic or recurrent infections to lifetime conditions like epilepsy. Individual Genetics It is possible for dogs to be significantly shorter than what is expected for their breed, even with a good diet and overall health. In these cases, individual genetic mutations are to blame for the failure to thrive. The most common of these genes are disproportionate dwarfism genes, including those that cause short legs in dogs like corgis and dachshunds. There are also rare genetic mutations such as the gene responsible for Pituitary Dwarfism in traditionally tall dog breeds like German Shepherds, Carnelian Bear Dogs, and Weimaraners. The age at which your dog will reach its full height depends on how large the dog breed is expected to be. Larger dogs typically take much longer to reach physical maturity than their smaller furry companions. In a nutshell, small dog breeds typically stop growing at 6 to 8 months of age, while medium dog breeds require about 12 months to reach their full height. Finally, large dogs can take up to 18 months to grow to their specific breed's expected height. The best way to predict your dog's height is using a dog growth chart. These may be provided by your vet but can also be found online. More often than not, these charts are based on your dog's general size category, which could either be miniature, small, medium, or large. However, it is possible to get a puppy growth chart specifically designed to track growth for an individual dog breed. The best part about puppy growth charts, in general, is that they help you keep track of your pup's growth and to pick up on any growth retardation early enough to intervene appropriately. In addition to puppy growth charts, you could also use growth calculation formulas to try and estimate your dog's expected height. You can make your life easier by using an online growth calculator. Just make sure that you find one that accounts for a dog breed and gender for more accuracy. The answer is both yes and no. For the most part, the majority of the factors that determine your dog's potential height are beyond your control. These include factors like gender, individual genetics, and the dog's breed. However, there are a few factors within your control that could help you influence your dog's height. Just remember that these will only give you a way to help your dog reach its full potential but will not actually change its expected height range. Without further ado, here are a few ways to determine how tall your dog will grow to be. Ensure They Have An Adequate Diet A diet rich in protein is crucial for your dog's growth, especially when it comes to muscle development. Because muscles contribute a small but significant amount to your dog's height, having a protein-rich diet could help your puppy get closer to its expected height. Furthermore, ensure that your dog's diet is rich in nutrients that support bone development and strength. These include minerals like calcium and phosphorus, as well as vitamins like vitamin D. Prioritize Regular Vet Care A healthy dog is more likely to reach its predicted height range, which is why you have to make sure that your dog's health is well covered. This includes keeping up with vaccinations and deworming. It also means seeking veterinary care when your dog gets sick and keeping up with both routine and follow-up vet appointments. This is because, like its diet and physical health, your dog's psychological health heavily influences its growth. This may also mean getting professional help for any issues your puppy may be facing, from separation anxiety to PTSD. Your dog's paw size cannot be used as an accurate predictor of how large your dog will be. However, there is an undeniable relationship between this paw size and your dog's eventual height. This is because taller dogs also tend to be heavier and thus require large, sturdy paws to support all that weight. Despite this relationship, there is no way to definitively conclude how tall or short your dog will be by simply examining its paw size. July 25, 0 Comments WorldAnimalFoundation. This is the point between their shoulder blades. They are likely to continue to increase in size and weight until they are around years of age. Unlike other pure breeds, there are some quite considerable variations within the German Shepherd family. This can have an impact on their color, pattern, and body style, as well as their size and rate of maturation. The most significant distinction of German Shepherd size is between those that were bred for showing as opposed to working. With the former, there was a focus on the look and gait of the dog over its personality and general health. In some countries, including the States, these dogs have exaggerated rear angulation, which can lead to hip problems — not ideal for a working breed. Photo by elisabetta ventura on Unsplash Of the two, the working dogs tend to be larger with bigger bones, heads, and an all-round more athletic build. Although again, there are variations between these depending on the country they were bred in and the tasks they were required to do. Sex also plays a crucial role in size. Female dogs will be at the lower end of the scale of the dimensions given in the above chart 22 — 24 inches , while males will be closer to the upper limits 24 — 26 inches. German Shepherd Size Charts and Growth Patterns Like most other dogs, German Shepherds have their most significant growth period in the first 6 months of their lives, achieving more than two-thirds of their adult height by this time. As is common to larger breeds, their growth will significantly slow after that. They will reach their adult height a little before their adult weight. Our interactive puppy growth chart and calculator has more information on that. Check out these guides on best dog food for puppies here. While there are some variations depending on the gender of the animal, generally speaking, a full-grown German Shepherd will stand somewhere between 22 — 26 inches and weigh around 50 to 90 pounds. This is the average German Shepherd size. You can calculate their potential adult weight at 23 weeks by taking what they weigh at that age and multiplying it by two. Your German Shepherd will have acquired much of their adult size and weight by the time they have hit their first year. However, they will continue to grow, usually reaching their full adult size somewhere between 18 months to 2 years of age. The age of maturity, though, is somewhat dependent on the specific type of German Shepherd that you have. Eastern European varieties, for instance, are particularly late bloomers and are unlikely to reach their full size much before the age of three. Larger dogs will also naturally take longer to achieve their full size. A female German Shepherd might be expected to get there at 24 months, whereas for a male, it could be closer to .At this age, they are reaching the end of their rapid growth period, and you will notice their growth slows down significantly after this milestone. With German Shepherd size, there is quite a bit of variation depending on the type you have and what they were initially bred for. All this information can help you to anticipate their adult size, and our calculator can get you the rest of the way there. Let us estimate how large your German Shepherd will be as an adult by inputting their age and weight into the calculator below. German Shepherds are considered a medium-to-large-sized breed. This means they often fall around the line that separates medium-sized dogs from large-sized dogs. The AKC wants males stand at inches and weigh pounds, making them considerably larger than females in some cases. Females stand at inches and weigh around pounds. As you can see, this is a huge range. There is a significant difference between a pound dog and an pound dog. Therefore, how big your particular dog might get depends largely on their genetics. You can often get somewhat of an idea by looking at both of their parents. Typically, if the parents are smaller, their puppies will be as well and visa versa. What does a 4-month German Shepherd weigh? Usually, 4-month-old German Shepherds weigh about pounds if they are males and pounds if they are females. Once they are born, genetics tend to take over. At 4-months-old, the puppies have been growing according to genetics for long enough for you to guess what their adult size might be. A dog that is small at this age is likely to remain small. They are simply focusing on growing larger at this point. They should have all their puppy teeth and decent motor skills. How big is a 6-month-old German Shepherd? Puppies undergo massive growth spurts before five months. By the time they reach six months, their growth has slowed down considerably. The average male will weigh about 53 pounds, while females weigh 46 pounds. They have not reached their full adult weight yet, but they are very close. Because their growth has slowed down so much, though, they will continue to grow for a long time to come. This is normal. It is also normal if your dog retains their somewhat skinny appearance for a few more months to come. When is a German Shepherd fully grown? Female German Shepherds often stop growing at around two years. Males may continue to grow for another six months or so. The exact time that each dog stops growing depends on genetics and their diet. This can make them grow too fast, which can mess up their joints and cause other health problems. In fact, hip dysplasia is much more likely in dogs that were improperly fed as puppies. Instead, we recommend patience. Dogs may not grow evenly. Many may reach their full height before gaining much of their muscle mass and fat. Dogs are a lot like children in this way. They grow at their own pace. While these dogs reach sexual maturity before they are fully grown, it is generally not recommended to breed them until they have reached their full size. Otherwise, it can stunt their growth and potentially cause health problems for the mother and the puppies. Do German Shepherds Grow Fast? Generally, German Shepherds grow rather fast in their first six months of life. They will double their weight many times in this period and undergo many growth spurts. However, after five to six months, it will begin to slow down substantially. While they will almost reach their full size at about six months, it will take them until they are about two to finally gain those last few dozen pounds. Why is my German Shepherd so small? German Shepherds all grow in a unique fashion, similarly to people. For this reason, a German Shepherd may not seem to be growing much at all, only to hit a growth spurt. Your dog may seem small compared to other German Shepherds while still being in the normal range. This increases their risk for many health problems, including hip dysplasia. The dog needs to grow at their natural rate. A dog can simply be smaller than normal but completely healthy. Some German Shepherds have been crossed with other kinds of shepherd — these dogs are likely to not grow at the same rate as their pure-bred peers, too. Do not make the mistake and keep your German Shepherd outside most of the time. These dogs get highly attached to their humans and want to spend time with them! If your dog lives outside and is experiencing stunted growth, he may be refusing food due to loneliness. Make sure to take him to a vet — and in addition, let him spend time inside with you! By PetMD Editorial. If your dog normally has a black nose, it turns pink or a darker brown. If your dog has a brown nose, it may turn a lighter shade of brown. What Causes Dog Snow Nose? Sandra Koch, a board-certified veterinary dermatologist and associate professor of dermatology at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dog snow nose is most often seen in winter, but it can also occur in summer or even in tropical areas, says Dr. Should Pet Parents Be Concerned? One of the reasons there has been little research done into the condition is that dog snow nose itself is not harmful to your dog and should cause no concern, says Dr. Christine Cain, a board-certified veterinary dermatologist and assistant professor of dermatology and allergy at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia. However, in some instances, she says, the nose will remain a lighter color. It should be noted, says Dr. If your dog is continuously rubbing his nose, or if the nose has sores, complete changes in pigmentation, changes in texture or moisture, or is crusting, bleeding or itching, then you should discuss these symptoms with your veterinarian. These types of issues can be an indication of something more serious, such as cancer, lupus infection or an immune disease known as vitiligo. Although Dr. Since veterinary science has yet to determine the cause of dog snow nose, there is really nothing that can be done to prevent it, says Dr. Which Dogs Are Affected? Koch, and Dr. Cain says she has even seen it affect some smaller breed dogs. Some pups are born with brown dog noses, which is normal and not the condition known as snow nose. Dog snow nose typically affects the central part of the nose, or the pigment of the flat part of the nose called the nasal planum, says Dr. Dogs have a pigment called melanin in their skin, which gives their noses a dark color. When exposed to sunlight, the melanin in their noses breaks down, causing the nose to lose its dark color and turn pink. This phenomenon is more noticeable in dogs with lighter-colored noses. Some dog breeds, such as the Dalmatian, are known to have a pink nose year-round. Understanding The Importance of a Dog's Nose A dog's nose is not just a feature of their appearance; it plays a vital role in their daily life. Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, and their noses are filled with sensitive nerve endings that help them detect scents. A dog's nose is also responsible for regulating their body temperature through panting, and it serves as a defense against foreign objects and potential threats. Health Implications of a Pink Nose While a pink nose in itself is not harmful to a dog's health, it can be an indicator of underlying health issues. For example, a pink nose can be a symptom of sunburn, which can lead to skin cancer in dogs. It can also be a sign of an autoimmune disease, such as lupus, which affects a dog's immune system and can cause their nose to lose its pigmentation. Additionally, a pink nose can be a symptom of a fungal infection, which requires prompt veterinary treatment. Pro Tip: If your dog is eating less in the summer , it may be because heat can affect their digestion and appetite. Firstly, it's essential to limit your dog's exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Providing shade, such as under a tree or an umbrella, can help keep your dog cool and prevent sunburn. Here's a handy article that covers when it is too hot to walk your dog. Secondly, you can apply a dog-specific sunscreen to your dog's nose and other exposed areas. It's important to use a sunscreen that is specifically designed for dogs, as human sunscreen can be toxic to them. Be sure to reapply the sunscreen regularly, especially if your dog is swimming or sweating. Lastly, consider using a protective balm on your dog's nose to help prevent sunburn and dryness. Products like Paw Balm or Nose Butter can help moisturize and protect your dog's nose from the elements. Don't over lather your dog's nose, and be sure to bathe your dog in the summer months. In addition to these preventative measures, it's crucial to keep an eye on your dog's nose and overall health. Regular check-ups with a veterinarian can help catch any potential health concerns early on and ensure your dog's overall well-being. Remember to limit your dog's exposure to direct sunlight, apply dog-specific sunscreen, and use protective balm. Don't forget to monitor your dog's nose health and overall well-being by regularly visiting a veterinarian. By taking these steps, you can ensure that your furry friend stays happy, healthy, and protected all summer long. Providing compassion, care and love to animals in Greater Victoria. All Rights Reserved. Sage Pet Care .Silver might start off black or be mistaken for gray Blue faded black to gray White Cream Goldendoodles receive genetic coding for apricot, red, and cream color from both Golden Retrievers and Poodles, but all of the other color variations are passed down from the Poodle parent. The dog that most often comes to mind with this coloration is the Australian Shepherd, however, Goldendoodles may be merle as well. Brindle: Brindle is another coat color more commonly associated with other breeds like greyhounds or boxers , but it is also possible in Goldendoodles. Goldendoodle Nose Colors A black nose or black points points include nose, lips, and skin around eyes are the most prevalent skin color for all dogs. However, depending on the genes they inherit and the relative dominance of those genes, Goldendoodles may have other nose colors and patterns. These frequently relate to their coat colors though not always. Liver Noses: Dogs with liver coloring have two copies of the recessive liver gene bb. Their nose color ranges from dark brown to light pink. We most often think of liver dogs as being apricot, red, or chocolate-colored, but they are only truly considered to have that coloring if they have the liver points as well. This is because dogs with this genetic makeup are incapable of having a black or blue nose. There is a dilute version of the liver nose called the isabella or isabella liver isabella, dd. It can be hard to tell the two apart visually although the isabella nose sometimes is characterized by a purplish tint. Blue Noses Blue-colored dogs including Goldendoodles carry the dilute and also recessive gene for blue coloring dd. The color pink is usually associated with a loss of pigment, as is the case with this nose. The butterfly nose pattern is mostly seen in dogs with merle coat patterns but not exclusively. However, the lighter the color, the harder it is to see that the dog has a butterfly nose. For example, it is difficult to tell when the discoloration is mixed in with very light liver or isabella coloring. The name is sometimes used to refer to naturally pink noses but not as frequently. The loss of pigment starts in the middle of the nose and spreads outwards, but it is never lost completely. This means the nose is only ever dull pink and not as bright as the butterfly nose or even liver noses. Also, the edges typically remain dark. The presence of a Dudley Nose is common and most obvious in dogs who start with black noses. Although those with liver or blue noses may exhibit this condition as well, it is usually harder to detect due to the already light coloring. This occurs most noticeably in the winter and the skin can then darken again in the spring. A pink spotting or stripe pattern like this is referred to as Snow Nose or Winter Nose. Dogs might also develop melanomas or other types of skin cancer on the nose as a result of overexposure to sunlight, which can have the same effects. Noses that are light in color originally are most susceptible to this type of damage. Age: Dogs who normally have a very melanistic dark nose might develop a Dudley Nose simply as a consequence of aging. As your Goldendoodle ages, many bodily functions begin to decline, including melanin production. This process is responsible for graying hair and sometimes pinkening noses. Allergies or Bacterial Infection Various assorted health issues might also lead to melanin loss. Allergies or an infection are likely examples. As with sunburns, there will likely be other symptoms to alert you to the problem. If your dog has a runny or crusty nose, is acting sick, sneezing a lot, etc. Injury Just as we scar and suffer from discoloration from wounds, so do dog noses. A normally dark nose with a relatively recent injury will become discolored pink wherever it is very damaged. Healing injuries to the nose will likely recover some color over time, but, if it is bad enough, there will be permanent scarring and the nose color may not return to normal completely. Vitiligo Vitiligo is a condition you might have heard of in humans, but it turns out that dogs can get it too. If your Goldendoodle had vitiligo, it would cause a sudden onset of random, patchy pigment loss in the nose bright pink but no other symptoms. Aside from pigment loss, vitiligo is otherwise harmless. Summary Phew! Or, perhaps, something could have caused it to become pink when it was not before. But, if they were born with it or it is clear that a lightening nose has a benign cause, just enjoy and appreciate that sweet, pink-nosed face! Need to be indoor dogs Lively and fun-loving What size Do Goldendoodles come in? There are three types of Doodles. Depending on the genetics of the parents, you can find them in one of these ranges. As in most breeds, females are usually smaller than males. As for temperaments, the Mini and Toy Goldendoodles are more energetic than Standards. F1 Goldendoodle An F1 is considered the first generation. The F1 puppies are the healthiest. This is most likely the most non-shedding and allergy friendly of a Goldendoodle. I have known some breeders known to breed a Goldendoodle with a Golden, which creates more of the golden look. These puppies have a greater likelihood of shedding. A breeder can cross these lines for seven years, at which time they can apply to register as a purebred. Sometimes these puppies lose their softness that we love with the doodles. What is the most popular Goldendoodle color? The apricot Goldendoodle is by far the most popular color, with cream and red in second and third place. Poodles have a variety of colors with brown or chocolate, black, silver, and gray. There can be a mixture of patterns and colors. Gray Doodles - Primarily the Poodle side. Black Doodles - Completely on the Poodle side. Primarily the poodle side. Most Goldendoodles have a darker coat and lighten up as they get older. Ruby was dark red when I first brought her home. Over the next 9 months, she lightened up considerably. The only thing that stayed the darker red were her ears. She's more a cross between a red and a darker apricot. Here's the way some of them can lighten or darken: Solid Colored Goldendoodle - These puppies are one solid color. Merle Colored Goldendoodles- These puppies are super cute with a variety of colors. Phantom Colored Goldendoodles - Both parents have to have a phantom recessive gene in order for a puppy to pick up the phantom coloring. However, these puppies have a solid color with markings on the side of the chest and muzzles, above the eyes and under the tails and legs. There is a large variety of colors for Phantom colored goldendoodles. Brindle Colored Goldendoodles - These are the goldendoodles that appear two have some stripes in the body. While brindle is a recessive gene, it can come out in a variety of colors. Do Goldendoodle Noses Change Color? Goldendoodle nose change color. Ruby was born with this cute little black button nose with her cute smiling face. While most Goldendoodles are born with the cute black noses, they can turn to pink, brown, or liver colored. The Weather - In the winter months Ruby's nose changes to a lighter brownish color. This is called winter nose or snow nose. This is usually a temporary condition caused by the colder weather. Once summer hits, it will go back to a darker color for a short time. At least until it's winter again. Old Age - The pigment on a dog's nose ages just like our hair color. It may turn pink or even a light liver color. This comes from aging. Bacterial Infections - If your dog's nose looks sore, crusty or unhealthy, most like they've developed a bacterial infection. It can cause this from drinking unhealthy water. Dudley Nose - This is a general nose de-pigmentation. You'll notice your dog's nose will turn pink or sometimes white for no known reason. Allergies - Dogs have allergies like we do. Because a dog's nose is usually, the first thing it comes in contact with, if your dog has allergies the first sign may be the color his or her nose changing. You often notice this in puppies using plastic water bowls. Usually you'll notice the lips on your pups will change and lighten. What is a Teddybear Goldendoodle? Teddy-bear Goldendoodles look just like teddy bears! Sometimes they are even hard to tell apart! They tend to have that boxier look. Do Goldendoodle's get Curlier with Age? Goldendoodle puppy coats change just like any other dog. They lose their soft puppy hair about 5 - 6 months of age. My dog Ruby went from straighter soft hair to having the tighter poodle curls around her neck and behind her ears and legs. Her body still has the softer, straighter hair. Some Goldendoodles get the curlier hair as adults, some get the straighter hair. There's no way to judge what your puppy is going to get until it loses its puppy hair. The only way to get an idea is to meet both the parents. How Long do Goldendoodle's Live for? The average lifespan of a Goldendoodle is 10 to 15 years. Do Goldendoodle's like to swim? Most Goldendoodle's love swimming as much as people do. However, monitor them as much as you would a toddler. Even the strongest swimmers can get into trouble. We had flown to Phoenix, Arizona the first time Ruby went swimming. She did not want to get into the pool the first time. Once we put her into the pool, she was a paddling all over the place. However, on her 3rd lap around a smaller pool her back legs grew tired, and she started to drown. Because we were all in the pool, we could reach her right away. After that we bought her a cute little life jacket. By the time we left Arizona, she was a paddling pro with the life jacket on. Whenever we go to a lake or pool, we make sure she has her life jacket. Have your pool fenced in or equipped with an alarm that sounds if the surface of the water is broken by a child or pet falling in. Work with your dog to show her which side the steps are on so they learn to get out of the pool. Or provide a ramp like the Skamper-Ramp. Be sure to provide fresh water. Dogs get thirsty even when swimming. Dogs can panic in the water and younger or older dogs don't know they aren't as strong as they think they are and can easily start to sink. Can a Goldendoodle be Left Alone? Goldendoodles are people dogs. While they love to be around you, they can be left alone over time with some preparation. For example, a new puppy shouldn't be left alone for more than an hour or two in the beginning. Your puppy will well if you leave them alone with short periods of time. They may be apprehensive at first, but it gets better with time. I highly recommend a snuggle puppy with any new puppies. A snuggle puppy is a stuffed animal with a little heartbeat inside. It mimics the mother's heartbeat and helps to settle a new puppy when they first come home. Are Girl or Boy Goldendoodles better? Some people believe a male dog is much more affectionate than a female dog. I found no studies to prove this theory. My dog Ruby and most of my other female dogs have been affectionate and loving. Personally, I feel that no matter if it's male or female, a lot of it depends on their start in life. Are they raised in an affectionate home? Or are they raised with very little affection as babies? Are Goldendoodle's Smart Dogs? You bet they are! Because of their breeding, they are intelligent with an uncanny ability to communicate with their people. Because they are a cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever, they are smart and can easily learn commands quickly and easily. Goldendoodles do not differ from most dogs. Large breed dogs can sleep up to 18 hours a day. Once they get passed the puppy stage, normal sleeping times for Goldendoodles are hours a day. Do Goldendoodle's like to Run? Yes, they love to run! Ruby can run for about an hour on end, but then she's done and will nap for a good hour afterwards. Goldendoodles are great for medium distance runners as long as we properly train them. To train your Goldendoodle, you'll want to begin by teaching your dog to run in gradual distances. To help build up or cool down, you'll want to start and end with a walk. A warm up and cool-down period is just as important in a Goldendoodle as it is for humans. Always make sure your dog has plenty of water afterwards. The life transition from puppyhood to adulthood begins between 8 - 14 months old in Goldendoodles. At about months, a slow transition begins and your dog will calm down. However, don't expect them to not get excited when someone new comes to the door until he or she is over 10 years of age. My dog Ruby is just now mellowing out. She's now 16 months old. A lot of a Goldendoodle or Labradoodle calming down depends on how much exercise they are getting during the day. I let my dogs out to run and play several times a day. By doing this, I'm assured of a peaceful evening. If I have to work during the day and they don't get their exercise, then fully expect the evening hours to be full of playtime. Even playing fetch outside for minutes is enough for dogs to feel less anxious and settle down afterwards. Do all Doodles have Pink Noses? Some will be born with pink noses which will blacken as they grow. Some will be born with a dark nose that will lighten over time. Some will stay the color it is assigned at birth. However, there are other reasons, which we will discuss later, that this can change. Doodles and dogs in general can have one of five different colored noses. This is dependent on their cross breed, color and genetics. The colors are: Black Pink or liver, depending on the level of pigmentation. A liver dog will always have a liver nose or a shade thereof Dudley nose. This phrase refers to a pink nose that should be black. The correct name is nasal depigmentation and for a purebred dog can lead to disqualification in the show ring. Dudley nose is usually a gradual occurrence with the dog starting out with a black nose. This describes a black nose with random pink patches. The pink patches lack pigmentation. This nose is commonly seen in merle color dogs we briefly talk about this coloring in our article Goldendoodle Colors: A Complete Guide. Harlequin Great Danes also very often have the butterfly nose. Whilst the harlequin coloring is only recognized in Great Danes, should your Doodle be a Great Danoodle then you may see the butterfly nose. Blue nose occurs with a blue coat. This is a rare color group of Doodle and you are unlikely to see many around. This is more commonly known as snow nose and is thought to happen due to a breakdown in tyrosinase. Tyrosinase is an enzyme which is responsible for making melanin and melanin is responsible for pigment. Tyrosinase does not only weaken with age but is also sensitive to temperature. Watch out for snow nose in your Bernedoodle, Goldendoodle or Labradoodle as their parent cross breeds are all particularly susceptible to this condition. Such trauma can result in the nose temporarily losing its pigment and turning pink. In most cases the color will return as the nose heals. Infection — If a bacterial infection is at play then there are likely to be other signs alongside depigmentation. Signs to look out for are tenderness, swelling and a crusty appearance. Please seek professional advice if you suspect that your Doodle has an infection. If allergies are the answer, then the nose is likely to present as with infection. The lips can also be affected in these cases. It is quite common for the liver nose to fade to pink as the dog ages. This term is usually used when there is no other explanation for the fading. The Poodle is prone to Dudley Nose so it certainly something to keep an eye out for in your Doodle. Any depigmentation for reasons other than what we have discussed above could indicate that there is something else going on medically with your Doodle. There are a few immune diseases amongst other things that could be the cause. Do not hesitate to contact your vet to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your Doodle and the color of their nose. There are many combinations of colors and pigmentations, dominant and recessive genes. We would literally be here for a long time if we tried to establish every combination. We are here to enlighten you, not bore you so we will keep it relatively brief. Bernendoodles are all born with pink noses. They will develop their pigmentation as they grow. Whilst not in all cases, most will have their fully black nose by around 4 months old. Nose colors should follow coat colors, for example black and golden Labradoodles should have black noses. Parti colors should have the same color nose as the patches on their coat. There are many combinations for this breed. The merles can even have a freckled nose. Goldendoodles can have black, liver or pink noses. Liver noses though, whilst uncommon do occur. This is a term used when each eye is a combination of brown and blue. It can be toxic and cause tummy problems such as sickness and diarrhoea. Shea Butter or Olive Oil is a much safer alternative to sooth any dry or crusty noses. You can also buy dog specific balm which you will find at most pet stores or online. Menu Why did my dog's nose turn from black to pink? The color of a dog's nose will vary from dog to dog depending on the breed. It can be black, brown, liver, pink, or the same color as its coat. Sometimes a dog's nose can start off one color and change to another as it ages. Puppies are often born with pink noses, which later darken. What does it mean when a dog's nose loses its pigment turning pink or white? The reasons vary. De-pigmentation of the nose is sometimes harmless, but sometimes it is an indication that the dog needs medical attention. Contact your vet if you do not know why your dog's nose has lost its pigment. Some dog's noses change colors from a dark color to pink in cold weather; turning dark once again when the weather gets warmer. Usually when the nose changes color due to the weather it only partially changes pink as seen in the picture above. Snow nose seems to be directly related to the temperature and is harmless to the dog. The culprit is thought to be a breakdown in an enzyme called tyrosinase, which is what makes melanin. Melanin is what gives color, or pigment, to the hair, skin and parts of the eyes. The enzyme is temperature sensitive and gets weaker with age. Old age: A dog's nose may lose its pigment as it ages. Injury: If a dog experiences some kind of trauma such as a scrape or abrasion, the nose can turn pink as it heals. The pigment will usually return after a while. Bacterial infection: The nose may not only lighten in color but may look inflamed, sore, crusty or otherwise unhealthy. You may want to contact a veterinarian if this is the case. Sometimes the dog's nose never does change back. In some dogs it will randomly regain its pigment or change seasonally. Contact allergies contact dermatitis : When a dog is allergic to things its nose comes into direct contact with. The lips are usually also affected. You may have to do some investigative work to figure out what the dog is allergic to. The nose and sometimes the surrounding area may look inflamed, sore, crusty or otherwise unhealthy. Sometimes a dog can be allergic to certain types of plastic. You can rule out an allergy to a plastic food bowl by switching to a stainless steel bowl. Pemphigus, an immune related skin disorder: This condition can cause sores and crusty areas on and around the dog's nose. The condition is treatable and a vet should be seen. Discoid Lupus: Another immune related skin disorder that will also cause sores around and on the dog's nose. The condition can get worse when the dog is exposed to the sun. Vitiligo: An immune disease that effects the skin as it blocks healthy, pigment-carrying cells by attacking them with antibodies. This condition can not only turn a dog's nose pink, but you will usually see loss of pigment on other areas of the body, turning the coat white either in scattered hairs or patches. The disorder can get worse over time turning a once dark dog white. A dog with Vitiligo is usually otherwise healthy as it often only effects the dog's appearance. Idiopathic is a condition that can make a dog's nose, lips and eyelids lose pigment. The cause is unknown. Skin cancer VKH-like syndrome or Uveodermatological syndrome UDS is an autoimmune disease where one's own defense against infection, the T-cells, attack the melanin-forming cells melanocytes in the body. Dogs with pink or white noses are prone to sunburn and precautions should be taken. You may need to apply sunscreen before letting the dog outside. In most cases a dog whom's nose has changed colors is not a cause for concern, however, sometimes it is. Be sure to contact your vet to make sure it is not due to a health related issue.

Ravena ia a rare name first used in Australia. There is a great strength of character in the name Ravena. The name is also known to be associated with generosity, being kindhearted and well as having wisdom and compassion. That's a big name to live up to, but I'm ready to try my hardest! At around 4 months of age, I'm your typical full of life puppy that is ready to play, eat, play, sit for a moment while I contemplate what to explore next , take a nap and then play some more. I will need that daily exercise and playtime but with that in I should do fine in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. I get along marvelously with my siblings and the other foster pups here and would just love a home with a playful sibling. What better way to spend the day then tormenting, ooops did I say that out loud, I meant playing with them, chasing each other around the yard, playing tug with the toys. That's what dreams are made of!! I will be a nice medium size when I get fully growed up. Perfect for those outdoor adventures like strolls in the neighborhood or to the local coffee shop, hiking and camping trips, trips to the doggie park, river excursions or what ever you think up, I'm game to give it a try! And we'll have a blast doing it.But I'll also be that perfect size to cuddle on the couch. At my age I'm at that sponge stage, soaking up.I'd be a pawsome candidate for obedience classes and might even really enjoy some agility classes or learning to play some games with you like hike and seek. With my gorgeous good looks and happy loving life to the fullest attitude, I'll make a great family addition, I just need YOU! These siblings include Ravena, River, Renata and Rocco.
Yolanda believes that each animal under her care has a spiritually responsive soul that requires love and care. Yolanda sometimes has pups available so keep up to date with her Facebook page for the latest news. Pug Place does not work on a first-come-first-served basis. Yolanda only offers her puppies to the most deserving, kind, and valuable adopters. They love their dogs and show commitment to the betterment of the breed in everything they do. But how can you spot reputable breeders when you start searching for a Pug puppy? Here are some tips to help you out. A good breeder will… 1. Issue a health guarantee Make sure that your breeder of choice offers a health guarantee. A reputable Pug breeder will write up a binding health guarantee for all of their puppies. The guarantee protects you against any genetic defects or diseases. It shows that the breeder is confident that their puppies are bred according to best practices. This means if you can no longer look after your pup for some reason, you will be expected to return the puppy to the breeder rather than taking them to a shelter. Provide standard health clearances Your breeder should have full health clearances for both parent Pugs. Good breeders often provide some early health-check clearances for their pups too, although some health clearances simply cannot be carried on such young pups. Issue a written bill of sale Reputable breeders offer written bills of sale to all of their new Pug parents. This bill of sale should be signed and will outline all the roles and responsibilities to be taken on by the buyer and seller as part of the transaction. Vaccinate their puppies All puppies should be up to date on their vaccinations before being homed with new families. Your breeder of choice should be able to provide evidence of these vaccinations. Reputable breeders welcome prospective parents into their homes to see the puppies. Follow age guidelines Puppies should never leave the litter before 8 weeks of age. Any breeder offering pups for adoption before this time is not following best practices. In fact, this could be quite damaging for the puppy developmentally. A reputable breeder will keep their pups at home until eight to twelve weeks so that they can be properly socialized and spend that crucial time with their mother and litter-mates. Answer your questions Last, but not least, a reputable breeder will be knowledgeable. In most cases, they will also want to ask you plenty of questions to ensure that their precious pups are going to good homes. We have a strict selection process that takes a variety of factors into account. That way we can ensure that only the best breeders end up on our lists. This way we know that our chosen breeders offer genetically sound and healthy puppies. Health testing shows a commitment to the health and wellbeing of each Pug. Contact information Any breeder that does not offer up their contact information is a big red flag. A reputable breeder will make it easy for you to get in contact with them by providing telephone numbers, email addresses, and they will usually have a well-established website as well. It shows a commitment to breeding best practices. Event participation Breeders who also compete in doggie events are often some of the best. Because these people tend to be dog lovers par excellence. They live and breathe for their Pugs and are proud to show them off in public. They are also more likely to have a high level of breed knowledge — an excellent sign for a breeder. Breed club membership There are lots of breed clubs out there that breeders can register with. These clubs have rules, regulations, and membership fees. If your breeder is registered with the Pug Dog Club of America, this is a great sign showing commitment to the Pug breed. Recognition awards Lastly, we look out for awards! Institutions like the AKC recognize the efforts and achievements of top breeders. The very best will be awarded the AKC recognition of merit award. During this time we recommend getting everything ready before your new arrival rattles through the front door. Your puppy will need: a crate for sleeping and training during the early days quality puppy-grade food a leash and harness plenty of toys You may also wish to purchase a puppy gate if there are areas of your home that you want to keep your Pug away from. This is all about making your home as safe as possible for your new arrival. Make sure anything that could potentially cause harm to your pup is removed. Clear your schedule Having a Pug puppy is a bit like having a human baby. So make sure to clear your schedule and get all of those errands done ahead of time! Once they arrive… 4. Avoid crowds Hold your excitement. That means no crowds. Try to keep the home environment as stress-free as possible so that your puppy can settle in and start to feel part of the family. Crate training is the first step. Lay down a regular routine from the get to and your Pug will be good as gold in no time. Pug Description The Pug is a small, stocky, square and thick set dog. They are keen, with a happy-go lucky attitude. These sturdy little puppies were bred for companionship so they are loyal, loving and affectionate with their family. Strong-minded and confident, Pugs can be willful if they sense that they are stronger-minded than the people around them. They need an owner who is calm yet firm and confident. Consistent training will ensure this smart breed does not bore and can reach his or her full, amazing potential. Discover more about our Pug puppies for sale below. History The Pug is one of the oldest breeds known today, believed to have originated before BC. Most researchers agree that the Pug originated in Asia and descended from the shorthaired Pekingese. Some speculate they are the result of a small Bulldog or a miniature form of the French Mastiff. Regardless, the breed rose to popularity during the Victorian era in the 19th century. Tibetan monasteries often kept Pugs as pets around this time. In Japan and Europe the breed not only became a pet of royalty, but the official dog of the House of Orange in Holland. Disposition The Pug is a devoted dog. They crave the love and attention of their owners and will be unhappy if that is not reciprocated. This is a puppy that is happiest when in your lap or showing off to their family. These little dogs tend to be rather sedentary, content to sit in your lap and chill. These playful, silly puppies light up the room, living it up and pleasing the crowd with their silly antics. Of course, temperament is affected by a number of factors including training and socialization, and a Pug puppy will do best with early socialization and puppy training. Taking your puppy to classes, inviting regular visitors, and taking them to busy parks and stores for walks will polish their social skills and create a well-rounded dog. The Pug is not a guard dog, hunter or retriever. They love to play but certainly have a mind of their own. Be sure to monitor their food intake as they can gain weight easily. Training All breeds benefit from early socialization and basic obedience training. The Pug can be stubborn, so it is important to assert yourself as the leader by being confident and strong-minded yourself. Pug puppies are wonderful pets for the family and their lively personalities make them great playmates. Get them used to it bit by bit as a puppy and be sure they have plenty of toys to keep them entertained while you are gone. If you devote yourself to a Pug, they are relatively low maintenance dogs. They do not require a lot of grooming nor do they need a lot of exercise. Just pay special attention to their wrinkles and breathing needs, and you will have a happy Pug! Exercise This breed is good for apartment life as they are relatively inactive indoors and do okay without a yard. They cannot tolerate hot or cold weather very well so it is best to keep them indoors at a comfortable temperature. Pug puppies are strong with short-legs and they will need to be taken on daily walks. When walking your Pug, make sure to make the dog heel beside or behind the person with the leash, as their instincts will tell them to lead the way. They also enjoy playing energetic games and will do well if you can give them regular exercise. Be careful to not overdo it with your Pug, or you will see them start to wheeze. Grooming The coat on a Pug is short, smooth and double coated. They are above average shedders. Regular brushing and bathing helps keep the coat in good condition and shedding to a minimum. A monthly bath is enough, though some bathe more frequently. Cleaning their ears is also a good idea. The most attention you will need to give your pug is their wrinkles. These folds are hotbeds for infection if allowed to become damp or dirty. The wrinkles must be dried thoroughly after a cleaning, and wiped between baths. The rest is basic care, keep their teeth clean and brush that fur! See store for details on a particular puppy. American Canine Association. Questions about Pug puppies for sale in Phoenix AZ? So, through a mixture of balanced calories, protein, calcium, and phosphorus, this kibble supports your puppy's development while preventing excessive weight gain. Puppies are still developing their immune system, meaning an "immunity gap" opens them up to dangerous ailments. So, Royal Canin Labrador Retriever Puppy includes an exclusive antioxidant complex with vitamin E to boost your pet's immunity. Likewise, Labrador puppies have a sensitive digestive system, which makes feeding them the right food essential. Hence, this dry food contains prebiotics and highly-digestible proteins to support a healthy gut microbiome and promote stool quality. Lastly, this kibble's shape, size, and texture are tailored to your Labrador's jaw. Because of this, your pet will have an easy time picking up food and chewing it, making mealtime more accessible. How do you breed for a healthier English Bulldog? Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. What are the steps of your adoption process if I am located in Virginia? Check out our available English Bulldog Puppies page. At times, we have available puppies but almost always have a waiting list as well. A quick look at our available puppies is the starting point to begin the process. Send us an email or give us call .If approved to adopt one of our puppies you are welcome to place a deposit to hold until your puppy is ready to go home. Greetings from the Wysongs! I am familiar with common and uncommon health problems they may face so when my boyfriend and I decided we were ready to adopt our own english puppy finding a reputable breeder that prioritizes health was most important to us. Erica and Mitch of Bruiser Bulldogs are just that. They are experienced, ethical and quality breeders. I was referred to them by my friend that I trust after I saw their gorgeous healthy puppy. Our Puppy Primrose is the light of our lives! Bruisers was there to assist us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Bruisers Bulldogs to anyone looking for their own happy, healthy pup! Leah H. We were lucky to have come across Bruiser Bulldogs and even more so the fact that they were near our family and hometown made it even better. We have had Clementine Callie for four months now, and she is a wonderful dog. Her personality is amazing, and I think part of it is breeding and the other part is Erika and her family lovingly raising the puppies in their home with plenty of attention and snuggles. I also was impressed that, rather than send the puppies out right at 8 weeks, Erika kept ours for a few extra weeks because she was tiny and not read to leave her mom yet. It's that care that differentiates Bruisers from other breeders. Emily R. Erica was easy to work with thru the entire process from application to adopting and now beyond as we host our new family member, Chief. Her on-call support and willingness to provide open, honest advice to all of our questions and concerns continues to be appreciated. We would highly recommend Bruiser Bulldogs to anyone looking for an English Bulldog to join their family. Elizabeth W. Lady L. They are experienced, responsive and knowledgeable about all things bulldog related. They went above and beyond for us and are truly dedicated to all of their pups! We love our little girl so much and would recommend Bruiser to anyone looking for a healthy beautiful bully. Jonathan E. Erica and Mitch are trustworthy, excellent communicators, fair, passionate, and produce the best bulldogs. We were at the top of the waiting list for months and Erica reached out every litter to see if we were finally ready for a bulldog. When we were, she was very easy to work with. Her knowledge on bulldogs is outstanding. We had many questions on the process and she always knew what was best for the puppy. We've had Penny formerly Blair for two months and she is very healthy, energetic, playful, and sweet. She is great with other people and dogs. We are so happy with our pup. When we are ready for bulldog 2, we will only consider Bruiser Bulldogs. Mitch C. Bowser was born April and is an integral part of our family. When we were first exploring English Bulldog breeders our biggest concern was the overall health of the dogs. We decided to work with Erica at Bruiser Bulldogs because we liked their focus on improving the breeds breathing abilities and the fact that the puppies are raised within her family environment before coming home with their new owners. Bowser also breaths clearly and our vet was impressed with his overall health from the moment we brought him home. All that said we know English Bulldogs have a predisposition to many health issues and that his current health can not predict the future. With that In mind its important to start with a breeder that open to answer any of your questions as Erica has ours, and that strongly believes in improving the breeds overall health profile. Adam B. My sister ended up finding Bruiser Bulldogs and we knew right away that they were the breeder for us. In September we ended up driving 9 hours to pick up two Bruiser bulldog puppies- one for my husband and I and one for my mom. Jackson and Penelope have been nothing but a joy. They are both very athletic and healthy. They are also HUGE snugglers and always want to be with you. It is an absolute pleasure having these two bullies in our lives! Erica is very knowledgeable about the breed. She is very hands on throughout the process and is just overall a kind and honest person to work with. With all that being said I cannot recommend Bruiser Bulldogs enough! Collyn C. One of the reasons we chose Bruiser Bulldogs was due to the claims about breeding for health. During our first visit at our vet's office, he told us that our pup was one of the healthiest English bulldogs he had ever seen. He is healthy, happy and social. Would recommend to anyone. Christina S. We seen our dog on their website and sent them an Email. Mitch called us and personally walked us through the process and made sure we had the right dog for our family. We couldn't be happier when we picked up our dog Ramsey, Erica made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They are truly amazing people who breed truly amazing dogs! Jim T.
