Father-of-three Donald 'Prentice' Patience was found dead in his end-of-terrace home in Radcliffe, Manchester, on Tuesday after raiders stole his beloved pet. Locals today claimed the white designer dog - believed to be called Layla - was retrieved by cops after it was taken to a grooming parlour just ft from crime scene hours after the killing. The revelation came as Mr Patience's heartbroken family today described him as 'a much-loved son, brother and father and will be sorely missed by many, affectionately known as Prentice' - as the local community expressed shock at his 'murder'.
