Brown Once lumped together with Red Poodles, brown Poodles should ideally be the color of dark mahogany or a rich walnut brown, as opposed to chestnut. Most brown Poodles are born dark and then fade as they mature, producing stunning shades of cinnamon brown and coffee. Their skin folds can trap debris and moisture, and their hair can break due to rubbing. In this article, we will discuss why your French bulldog may be suffering from pimples and what are the skin issues that affect the Frenchie dog and how you can possibly minimize or eliminate them. Roger Wickenden Causes of pimples in French bulldogs There are many reasons why Frenchies can get acne and pimples. An environmental factor can be the cause of pimples; there are other factors such as poor hygiene, food deficiencies, cosmetic products, and bacterial infections. A hormonal imbalance can also be the cause of pimples. When French bulldogs are in a growing phase, like humans, they also suffer from pimples. It's easy to spot a pimples on the Frenchie dog's skin because it appears as whiteheads, red bumps, and blackheads. If you don't treat pimples in time, they can be very painful when touched. Prevention and Treatment of pimples in French Bulldogs If you see that your Frenchie has oily skin, he or she will likely suffer from dandruff and seborrhea. Occasionally, unpleasant odor and purulent discharge are also observed in these areas. Dermatitis can be avoided in these areas by keeping these folds dry and clean. Clean the folds of Frenchie's skin with wipes or damp cloths. The treatment of dermatitis can also be carried out with oral antibiotics prescribed by your vet and with antifungal and antibacterial shampoos. As mentioned above, the vet decided to shave the area around the hot spot and then treat it with some topical antibiotics and steroids. The hot spot healed up and went away roughly a week later and we never saw another one on him! So, be sure to get to the vet as soon as you can. Your vet will provide an accurate and effective answer, and treatment for most skin issues in french bulldogs is usually very simple and fast. French Bulldog Skin Problems: What We Use For non-serious skin issues like canine dandruff or plain ole dry skin, this product really works wonders. Unfortunately, food manufacturers cannot anticipate all the possible allergic reactions their foods may cause; this is true not only for dogs for humans, as well. Think of your frenchie as having something similar to a peanut allergy. It happens. A french bulldog with an allergy to something specific is a special case that will warrant an appropriate food. Just be sure to get to the vet at the first sign of a reaction. A severe allergic reaction can be fatal. A french bulldog with hives.
