When I mated her to a black dog, out of a litter of seven puppies there were two fawn dogs. The rest all had good black coats. There are mixed thoughts on the subject of cross breeding fawn and black, on the one hand it prevents too much inbreeding in the blacks, however, if overdone, it can give a brown tinge to the coat. I have heard it recommended that if you need to breed with fawn it shouldn't be done more than once every seven generations.
