We will not send you unnecessary notices in the future. My name is Tetyana and I am glad to welcome you on the site of the breed nursery. He is a 3 year old boxer mix. Jack came to us from a high-intake shelter in Tennessee when they no longer had space for him. He came to us with a broken tail that had healed on its own. We aren't sure how his tail broke, but Jack appears to have endured a rough past. His tail appeared to cause him some pain still, so our veterinary team opted for an amputation to help him be pain-free. Jack has been much more relaxed and bouncy since his procedure now that he is pain-free! Despite his past, he is still friendly with people and sure to wiggle his way over to you. Jack has been a staff favorite for his tippy-taps and smiley face whenever we greet him. He walks great on a leash, knows basic commands, and appears house-trained. He is very loyal, loving, and obedient to his human friends. He loves spending time outside and will lean into you when he wants some love! If he's not going to town on stuffed kong, you can find him bunny-hopping around our fenced fields with a toy. He can be scared by the speed of tiny humans, so a home with adults would be best. If you have any questions or are interested in more information, please contact one of Jack's friends, Kristen, at ksolge hapde. Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. How do you breed for a healthier English Bulldog? Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. What are the steps of your adoption process if I am located in Virginia? Check out our available English Bulldog Puppies page. At times, we have available puppies but almost always have a waiting list as well. Throughout the 8 weeks waiting for him she was awesome!! She sent new pictures several times a week and kept us updated on everything thing about our new baby! She updated us after his vet appointments, when he started walking, and whenever anything happened. It was really wonderful to be able to keep up with everything. She always responded right away when we had any questions or just wanted to check in our pup. She allowed us to come and visit with him during our 8 week wait also!! She is truly awesome and extremely knowledgeable with anything and everything you need to know about your puppy! We had an amazing experience with U Lucky Bulldog and when we are ready for our next pup we will look no where else!! We were very pleased and in love with our 2 new babies! Kristie is wonderful and an honest ,awesome breeder. She also taught us a lot that we did'nt know about English Bulldogs. ALL her pups are beautiful but we could only take 2. She still has 2 girls and 1 boy waiting to go home with a new family. If you're looking for pup with good bloodlines and very good temperaments give her a call! You were wonderful. Thanks to y'all my home is Finally complete! I called they answer and a bond was formed instantly! I quickly realized how lucky we were to have found her. Her and her family are incredible; easy to get in contact with, reliable, and just overall really good people. We bought our sweet Penny from her first litter! She is a blessing to our family. We get comments from everyone who meets her about how pretty she is. I have two young children 3 and 5. She is their best friend. So gentle and good with my kids from day one. Incredibly well tempered and such a loveable dog. Our life wouldn't be the same without her in it. And we have Kristie to thank for that. If you are looking for an English Bulldog - you've come to the right place! Best wishes to you, your family and your new addition. Kristie was kind enough to send us video and pictures of our pup since the day he was born and allowed us to come visit him as he was growing to get in some personal time. Kristie even called Duncan by his name while he was still weaning, when we picked him up, he already knew his name! He will be 8 months old in a few days and continues to be an absolute joy! He's smart, playful and healthy! We could not be happier with our boy and would certainly recommend U Lucky Bulldog to anyone looking to add one of these beauties to their family. Thank you, Kristie! Call Morgan at for specific pup identification if you are leaning towards placing an early deposit. Please check back, we update our website daily! Please see our Deposit Page and our Transportation Page for information on getting your puppy. We love the English bulldog temperament, physique and expression, I just personally like it to be about lbs. We find the smaller sizes are more buoyant and playful and, though still very heat sensitive, are better able to cope with life in general. Downsizing an AKC breed takes time. Our girls all come from long lines of lb. We not trying for 20 pounders…our goal is to have healthy, beautiful babies that consistently mature at lbs. If you see a puppy that tugs on your heartstrings please call, or go to our deposit page for more information. In the last few years it has become clear that most people would prefer their puppy to be transported using our White Glove transport or Nanny Flight transport. Today, we have requests for our Puppies from all over the country. Because of this, the majority those requesting a Sugarplum Bulldog Puppy have also requested transport to their area of the country; those in Florida, for example, cannot easily make the drive to RI. As such, the majority of our Puppies have shifted to a transport model; this gets them closer to their new forever home. Because of this, we have come to the decision, that for the well being of our Puppies and for the benefit of our new Sugarplum Bulldog owners, we have developed a transport model for our pups using our Puppy-Mobile with direct transport to the pups new Forever Home! Our Mid-Western breeding home is co-owned by Sugarplum Bulldogs, and our partner. I realize that not having a chance to play with the Pups is disappointing to some, but please understand that our team are dedicated to the highest level of care for our little Pups. We truly feel that this new model is in the best interested of our Puppies and their new homes. Please feel free to ask me any questions….

As a micro breeder we get to focus on quality rather than quantity which has important advantages. All of our pups get our undivided attention from the moment they are born to the time they leave with you to their new happy homes. We believe these methods provide a head start on training and as long as you follow some simple training methods it will make it much easier to integrate your new fur child into your life. Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do and the time is always right to do what is right. Having a French Bulldog will bring infinite joy and laughter to your life almost everyday. Frenchie owners will agree there are countless ways their little faces and attitudes brighten up your life, sometimes in unexpected ways. All French Bulldogs are loving companions that require significant human interaction to thrive, so be prepared, this is not a set and forget dog. They NEED to be one of the family and should not regularly be left alone for long periods. Frenchies are perfect for small living spaces but they need to be temperature controlled i. In the winter months they should not be left out in the cold for long so …. French Bulldogs are great security guards and will alert you to strangers. The incessant non-stop barking for zero reason you see in some small breeds is rare for a Frenchie, this makes for a lot less complaints from any nosey neighbours especially in condos or apartments. For example, a well exercised pup tends to be a non shoe chewing pup which can be quite a valuable trait according to where you shop lol. From the moment they open their eyes Frenchies have very identifiable personalities, each with their own quirks and expressions that develop well into their adult lives. This can be said of most dogs, but the French Bulldog is a unique experience and once you share your life with one you will know this to be true. They love to play and roughhouse when they are feeling frisky, but are also more than willing companions to cuddle under a blanket on the sofa and binge watch your favorite Netflix series. Frenchies are freethinking, and intelligent but can be little rebels. Which one would think could be frustrating but it actually adds to their lovable personalities. Once these pint sized pups dig their heels in… a mountain is easier to move, so always keep training sessions on the short and fun side. Be firm, consistent and generous in your rewards and both of you will find the experience more than worthwhile. Male French Bulldogs average between lbs and inches tall. Female French Bulldogs are generally slightly more petite at lbs and range from inches. A short, smooth and easy to care for coat with an assortment of standard and rare colours to choose from the French Bulldog can be a showstopper and illicit everything from smiles to inquiries about where you were able to find such a unique looking dog. Vancouver French Bulldogs would be happy to connect you with one of our fabulous frenchies and answer any questions you may have. Happy Frenchie hunting!! I understand that I may unsubscribe from these communications at any time. We have a number of Bulldogs, both English as they are recognized by most and French Bulldogs. They all live as pets in both their home and in show homes with friends. Geoff values this breed and understands the unique challenges that come with breeding Bulldogs and Frenchies. Prior to raising and breeding bulldogs, Geoff and his wife raised and bred Boxers. Geoff has always been fascinated with the Bulldog breed and has a strong desire to see the breed excel in health, temperament, and confirmation. The owners of Topbrass, Mark and Dawn Berryman, have been breeding Bulldogs for many years and Geoff had been looking for over two years for the right Bulldog from a reputable breeder. Priscilla was a surprise to Miranda; however, the cuteness of a Bulldog Puppy will always win skeptics over. A couple of summers ago, Geoff snuck another Bulldog into the house when he brought Queen Vashti in to "puppy sit". Miranda got wise to the scam pretty quick questioning who puppy sits for 4 months? Over the past couple of years Babylon Bulldogs have expended our Kennel to include a number of Bulldogs with fantastic lines, and have added French Bulldogs to the group. All our bulldogs are cared for in loving homes. We look for people that understand the breed and look for a pup that they can love for years to come. This presents us with the unique opportunity to have dogs in loving homes their entire show and breeding careers. The alternative would be to kennel and breed them, and then place kennel dogs into homes after they are retired. We have chosen to go with the show home route - we think its way better for everyone involved - particularly the pups. Quality Not Quantity Our aim is to breed dogs as near the breed standard as possible. As a small breeder, we at Bonsaviour aim to have approximately 3 to 4 litters per annum, selecting our Dam and Sire carefully and concentrating on quality, healthy puppies as a priority. Bonsaviour dogs are fed a natural BARF diet which is keeping them all extremely fit and well. The barf diet is based on raw meat and meaty bones along with a few vegetables and added vitamins. More about puppies About us At Bonsaviour all of our dogs are first and foremost our companions and their welfare and happiness is of paramount importance to us. We are dedicated and love our dogs they are part of our family, they all live inside our home and are cared for in the best possible way for health, happiness and temperament. Our puppies are reared naturally for true health and temperament and are used to the normal day to day living. The puppies are socialised with our grandchildren and all the normal noises such as the hoover and TV. When the puppies are 8 weeks old and are ready to move on to the new family we guarantee the puppy will be a confident healthy and happy puppy. Bonsaviour are committed, responsible breeders rearing our puppies on a natural diet as nature intended for health. With a teenager attitude right now. We had a puppy from you last year. He was born in March and we picked him up in May. We called him Alfie. Any accolades gained are from our customer or Independant third party reviews. In the "Dog World", ferocious opinions clash all the time. Our philosophy can be digested from the following article. Some of our Retrievers Puppies Litters of puppies are planned very carefully and are born and raised in the house. Bonsaviour puppies are adapted to family life well before they leave us. We have an occasional litter each year, most often puppies are sold before they are born. Reserving a puppy from planned litters is recommended. If you are interested in a puppy, we will require some background information about yourself, your family members, your home and lifestyle, including where you live, whether you have owned a pet before, opportunities for exercise and when you hope to welcome a new addition to your home. We are very happy to help in the process of selecting a puppy that is right for you and your family. When you purchase a puppy from Bonsaviour we will always be here to offer support for you and your puppy and help with any questions you might have for the life ofyour puppy and beyond. This is one of the finest family dogs in the world: cheerful, demonstrative, trustworthy with everyone, and forgiving of any mistakes made by inexperienced owners. Give this breed two brisk walks each day, play fetch games, and take him out for a good run once a week, and he is adaptable to almost any lifestyle. Friendly with everyone strangers, children, dogs, cats, smaller pets , his bark is welcoming rather than protective. You must control his tendency to chew on objects and to mouth your hands -- provide a box filled with toys so he can carry things around in his mouth. A Golden Retriever remains enthusiastically puppy-like for many years, so early obedience training is required to instill calmness and good manners. Eager to please and wonderfully responsive, he is nonetheless distracted by exciting sights and sounds, so you must be both patient and persistent. The mind and heart of a Golden is sweet and gentle, but his body is robust — until he's taught not to pull on the leash, you'll need good biceps to walk him. Our beautiful girl was born last April and we collected her in June. We named her Sienna and she is just the most adorable and loving girl. She loves going for long walks and running round the fields surrounding our home, although she does manage to seek out every muddy puddle to roll around in. She loves nothing more than playing hide and seek with her many toys and is so clever, she always finds them. My favourite time is in the evening, when she becomes sleepy and snuggles on the sofa with us, being totally pampered. We absolutely adore her and feel so blessed she is part of our family. Thanks again Jude. Golden Retriever happily lives with the family and he is an excellent and perfect family dog. Golden Retriever dogs are very good to other pets and children so it is a recommendable family dog. He is not a watch dog and might barks when he see strangers around him. Golden retriever dogs are very intelligent and have very beautiful feathery coat. We also have partnered up with several other high quality breeders that raise mini goldendoodle pups that meet our strict genetic criteria and testing. So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. So if you live near Wellington Colorado and are looking for a healthy and beautiful Mini Goldendoodle puppy then checkout our available pups now by Clicking Here. Choosing a reputable breeder is important for a number of reasons. For one, responsible breeders take good care of their dogs and puppies, and they only breed healthy dogs with sound temperaments. Here are a few things to help you with that. With that being said, responsible breeders will also back their programs with one or two-year genetic health guarantees, usually covering any severe genetic conditions that the parents have been tested for. They have a stunning coat and are available in colors varying from red and cream to black and gray. In addition to their physical features, the following are some of the traits that make Goldendoodles one of the most desired dog breeds and why you should get them. Goldendoodles are rarely aggressive and love the attention they receive from other people and animals. Also, Goldendoodles are prone to getting separation anxiety when left alone for a long period. Therefore, even if you prefer staying indoors, Goldendoodles would happily stay with you if you play with them and keep a check on them at regular intervals. Also, you would probably get your Goldendoodle puppies in Maryland pre-trained with the ability to follow basic commands and socialize. In addition to it, you can also teach them basic tricks as they are quick learners and stress-free to train. Therefore, if you or someone staying with you is mildly allergic to fur, especially dog fur, you can still get a Goldendoodle. Goldendoodles have a thick undercoat and need a haircut every seven to eight weeks and additional grooming of nails. However, you should avoid bathing your Goldendoodle puppies frequently as it would result in them getting dry skin and infection. Also, the hypoallergenic trait of Goldendoodles would reduce the irritation of cleaning your house to remove dog fur. However, they are prone to various genetic health problems that affect mainly their knees, hips, and eyes and can be detected under genetic health testing. Apart from this, Goldendoodles are health conscious as they need a minimum of half an hour of playtime daily. In addition to it, they love swimming and also make the perfect hike companion if you like to explore new places. We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Which is why a lack of exercise can be the root cause for many destructive behavioral problems for active dog breeds such as Labs. As WebMD. This is a game that combines both mental and physical activity. To start, teach your dog the specific names for his or her toys by pointing at them and repeating the names. Ask your dog to fetch a particular toy. If they bring back the wrong one, throw it back and ask again until you get the right toy. This can be played indoors—as long as you have enough space—or outdoors. And if your Lab especially a puppy grabs any part of you or your clothes, stop the game for a time before trying again. Make a circle of about 20 feet or more with your Labrador square in the middle and take turns calling him or her to you. Praise your dog or give a treat when they come, and then step back to let someone else call. Once your dog understands how it works, call faster and faster for a great doggie workout. You can also have family members in different parts of the house calling to give your Labrador the exercise they need on a rainy day. If you have the room, you can set up the hurdles indoor and have your dog run through them until blissfully tired. You can also set them up in the yard and create a true agility course, complete with jumps, twists and turns. Your Labrador has an incredible nose. Keep it in top shape by hiding treats around the house or yard and asking your dog to find them all. You can hold one treat in your hand and let your Lab sniff it before sending him or her out to search to give an idea of what to look for. Alternatively, you can use people instead of treats and have your dog find your loved ones instead for a twist on the game. Just make sure to have treats on hand to reward your Labrador for their excellent finds. Kong makes some of the most popular models, but you have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to picking the right toy for your Labrador. Designed to help cut down on boredom, food dispensing toys are like puzzle treats for your dog. Click here for our list of the best chew toys for labs and strong chewers. Upgrade Your Fetch Toy To a Frisbee Unlike balls that tend to sink and roll away, Frisbees hold air much longer, making them a very fun toy for your Labrador. See if you can teach your Lab to jump and grab the Frisbee midair for even more of a workout. As for durability, you can choose between soft Frisbees your dog can easily grip with their teeth yes, even puppy teeth! Then you can scatter multiple toys around the house and give the command for your dog to put them all away. Start by having your dog sit and show them a piece of their favorite treat. Hide it under a plastic or Styrofoam cup right in front of them. Once your Labrador has gotten the idea of how it works, rub a piece of treat over three cups to keep your dog from cheating with his nose. Then place the treat under one of the three cup and ask your dog to find it. If your dog is a whiz at identifying the right cup, you can then make things more challenging by slowly rotating the cups. Have you any favorite games you like to play with your Labrador? Let us know in the comments! Helps ease anxiety in their new home. We love using Bully Sticks to help divert these unwanted behaviors. For a list of all the supplies we get for our new service dog puppies check out our New Puppy Checklist on the PuppyInTraining. How does it feel to be a new puppy parent? You must be chuffed. Take a look at these first few articles. All the ingredients you need for a happy home. But for now, beside your bed is the best place for your puppy to sleep — it will help them feel safe. Puppies like their crates rather cave-like; we suggest covering it with a blanket to block out light, but keep the front open so that they can see outwards. Make sure to make it snug inside with something like a vet bed or a blanket, or why not take it up a notch with a heat pad or hot water bottle to recreate the feeling of their mother. Nothing feels more comforting than that. Before you head to bed, take your puppy out for one last round of loo-going. Set your bedtime at a later time too — midnight sounds about right. Come back calmly, and place your puppy in the crate and turn out the light. Stuff you should know about Sleep Training your Labrador Your puppy will wake up several times in the night and will need the toilet at least once! Be prepared for not-so-deep sleeps and tired mornings — just for the first few weeks. Having them sleep next to you is only temporary. Consistency is key! As for you, full nights of sleep will start getting closer and closer. Alone Training How can I teach my Labrador puppy to be ok on their own? Start by feeding your puppy in their crate during meal times. If they seem worried by you leaving, stay in view, and just pop right outside their confinement area. Keep it short and sweet: No need to stay away for long, 60 seconds tops will do for now. Repeat: Do this at least once a day to make progress go steady and smoothly. Socialisation Exercises To Do this week Letting your Labrador puppy explore the garden Besides the gnomes and questionable garden furniture you may have, letting your puppy explore your own garden is a great and safe way to start showing them the sounds, lights and wonders of the outside world. Exploring different surfaces exercise Make sure that the surfaces you use are safe — nothing too crazy just yet. Gather surfaces such as An oven tray with a small layer of water A piece of astro turf A carpet tile A large piece of tin foil, cardboard or something crinkly PRO TIP: Set up for this exercise in the room your puppy spends most of their time in — it will help them to feel safe and confident. Pop the surfaces out safely on the floor and allow your puppy to investigate them. Nobody has ever enjoyed walking on those. Remember to be patient! Lucky for you — teaching them their name is easy peasy. Say their name in a happy jolly tone and reward with a treat. Repeat five times, 5 and take a break. Practice this 2 or 3 times a day so they get the hang of it. Teach your puppy to sit Teaching your puppy how to sit is a popular one. The first two are far more common though. Keep using this word when they do the right thing, and then follow it up with a food reward. In puppy logic, stinky means yummy. How to do it Start at home; where there are no distractions. Just make sure to shut off Gogglebox in the background. Recall — How to teach our Labrador puppy to come back when called Your puppy already knows their name at this point, so this should be a walk in the park. How to do it Treats and a cheerful voice will be what works here. Do these exercises before meal times so your puppy is more motivated. Practice this 5 times a day and in 3 different places in your house and garden to get them used to coming to you in all settings. How to do it Show your puppy that you have their favourite toy, and start to get them excited about it. When they show interest, throw it a little bit away from you. They will likely follow it and pick it up. If they do, encourage them back to you with your voice, so remember to sound happy! Swap the toy for a treat or another toy and do the process again. Repeat this about 5 times. Instead create more distance and excitement sounds to get them to come to you — spaniels like to show off, so they will likely want to parade what they have! Always swap the toy for something when they have it, this could be a treat or another toy. Resource guarding occurs when we force puppies to give up items or snatch things out of their mouths. For breeds like Labradors who are designed to want to hold things in their mouths, this is pretty important! Resource guarding is when a dog protects a resource from being taken by someone else — dog or human. For some reason, there is a solid list of things puppies find irresistible: Socks. Just like us, Labradors need plenty of exercise on a daily basis. Whether you have a young or old dog, they all need to get the blood flowing to stay healthy and live long happy doggie lives. Regular exercise with your Labrador is very beneficial for you both. Exercise stimulates neuron growth in the brain, encourages the production of endorphins with a known mood-boosting effect , helps strengthen your bones and muscles, improves blood pressure, and can significantly help with depression. Are you having a hard time figuring out how much exercise your lab needs? Answers vary drastically from one dog to another. The amount of exercise to give your Labrador depends mostly on the age of the dog. The key to taking your Labrador puppy out for exercise is to be patient. Some labs are athletic, and thus need more exercise than others. Also, certain Labradors are genetically programmed to be energetic and have high metabolism rates, whereas others are more laid-back. Here are some exercise guidelines a new lab owner can follow to make sure their dog gets the right workout. With older dogs or children, a lab puppy may well try to keep up with them and exhaust themselves before they reach their adult size and stamina. Hold off on structured games and other forms of heavy physical activity for the first three months. This will set the stage for long-term, healthy exercise habits. This rule states that you should take your Labrador puppy out for at least five minutes of exercise per month of age up to twice a day until he or she is fully grown. This can be anything from a walk around the block to a run in the dog park. How old your dog is will make a difference in their stamina. To determine how much exercise your dog needs, first take their age into consideration. Labs that are four years old and above need between one and two hours of exercise per day. The truth is Labradors can lead a perfectly healthy life with just an hour of daily active playtime. The Labrador Retriever was bred to retrieve game for hunters. That means they naturally love to play fetch. All you need is a toy for playtime and room for running around. Tug-of-War is less cardio-oriented but helps with muscle mass and body structure in growing dogs. Plus, they love it! It requires that you prepare your puppy with a proper agility training course. Agility training is great for completing a total-body, structured workout, while also providing mental stimulation for your labrador. This involves activities such as going through walkways, tunnels, and hurdles to reach the other end. You will need to train your lab to engage in the activity and this involves proper instruction. Find one that fits his size and abilities, as well as your own personal comfort level. Either due to space or having a small yard, it may be difficult to get their puppies out every day. The good news is that, with a little creativity, indoor exercise can be just as viable and fun! Here are a few ideas you can try at home. Try Treadmill Training Sessions With Dogs A dog can be trained to use a treadmill and enjoy it, but the experience will take time. Build an Obstacle Course for Your Labrador Use everyday things found around the home or office to create an obstacle course. It also boosts their energy levels and problem-solving skills. For example, you might use old boxes and trash bags to make a tunnel, chairs or stools to jump across, and other furniture for your puppy to climb. At first your puppy may not catch on, but with effective use of the treat and lots of encouragement, you can help it learn as it goes. Hide-and-Seek With a Treat! Hide a treat around the house, and let your puppy work to find it. As you hide treats around the room, remember to make sure they are not hiding somewhere that is unreachable. Tip 2. Make sure that all the activities are not just what you enjoy but what is enjoyable for the puppy. Otherwise, they may get frustrated and stop cooperating with you. Include treats and praise whenever they accomplish something. All dog breeds respond positively to lots of physical affection and verbal affirmation. This will make the activity more enjoyable for the puppy. Keep fun as the central theme and good health will flow. Tip 3. Make an Exercise Routine and Schedule for Your Dog Lab owners, take note: maintaining the health of an adult Lab is all about consistency. And this starts with walks at a young age. Take regular walks with your dog, no matter the weather conditions. Walk at the same time each day in order to create an exercise pattern that both you and your dog can stick to. Maybe you can get the puppy used to a leash and casually walk through your neighborhood with it. That way, you can vary the activity occasionally. In six months, increase the amount of time your dogs are running to 15 minutes. This keeps their energy high and stops weight gain as they mature. Conclusion As a dog owner, your foremost responsibility is protecting the health and safety of your pet. Insufficient exercise causes health problems in dogs , like hip dysplasia especially those already prone to hip or joint problems. Share on. How to play with a puppy through training. Playing has been a part of social development for both humans and dogs since the days of hunting and gathering. Nowadays, our daily routine has been reduced to mostly hunting burgers and gathering fries, but playing still remains a critical part of human social development. This is true for our canine companions as well. Ensuring adequate and healthy playtime is a big part of raising a well-rounded dog. Some types of puppy games are good for physical development, whereas others are important for mental and social development. Here are a few of my favorite twists on classic puppy games. Puppy Running Games 1. Use a Flirt Pole Flirt poles are fabulously simple and absolutely brilliant. A flirt pole is simply a stick or pole with a rope or bungee hanging from the end. At the other end of the rope is a fabric-type toy that bounces and moves easily. By bouncing the pole or dragging it slowly across the ground, the toy at the end of the rope becomes wildly animated like a small animal. Your dog will go nuts chasing and trying to capture it. But, how do their trainers first start them on that path? Playing hide-n-seek! To initiate the game, trot away from your puppy while looking over your shoulder and calling her name. Stop after a few yards, squat down to your knees and scoop her up into a playful snuggle. Repeat several times, each time going a bit further away and calling her less and less until you are no longer calling her at all. The final phase of hide-n-seek is to wait until your puppy is distracted such as when they first go outside to use the loo! Wait and see if she can find you based on sound and smell cues alone. The following games can be played with your puppy indoors, in the comfort of your sweatpants as your dinner simmers on the stove. Blow bubbles My shepherd mix Lily had a blast chomping at the bubbles and sneezing as they pop on her nose. Be sure to dry off the floor afterward so nobody slips on the little bit of soapy residue bubble-blowing sessions will inevitably leave on the floor! Certain toys work better than others—a knotted rope, length of fabric, or Kong tug toys. Start by initiating tug with the toy. Tug-of-war is only fun when two are playing, so your puppy will drop the toy eventually. If you time it right, you can praise your puppy for dropping the toy and then re-initiate the game right away. And the game will go on and on. This is the easiest indoor game for puppies. It also helps your puppy become desensitized to being touched—useful for future grooming or vet visits! A bored puppy is a destructive puppy! So here are my favorite brain games for puppies. Tracking Games Tracking games are great for dogs to put their awesome olfactory system to work! All you have to do is drag a treat like a milk bone across the ground a few yards and hide. The best hiding places are inside something like a box or overturned flowerpot. Next time you go to the pet store for kibble, bring a few old rags and ask the staff if you can get some scents from the hamsters, birds, and maybe even the fish department! Then move them around, mix them up, and let your puppy use his nose to knock over the tubs and find the right one. Leisurely Sniff-n-Strolls Going for a walk is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do to socialize your puppy. The point is to mix it up with keeping your puppy on a tight lead for polite walks, versus leisurely strolls with a little more leash to sniff around and explore. A fun way to desensitize your puppy to a variety of noises is to play this game. Gather a basket of objects from around the house and hide it behind your back. One by one, make noise with each object while your dog looks on, probably confused. Then show him the object and let him sniff it and explore it while you make the noise again with the object in plain sight. This could include your shaking keys, dropping a small pan on the floor, crinkling some plastic wrap, or clicking a ball-point pen. Meet the Car It may not occur to you to introduce your puppy to the family car, but you should! Walking around the car together, opening and closing doors, honking the horn, and letting him jump in and out are good activities. Crate games Getting your puppy comfortable going into a crate or bed is one of the earliest goals of training. So why not make a game out of it? Toss tiny treats inside and around the crate while she gets used to walking in and out without fear. Then up the ante by occasionally closing the door after she walks inside. Then let her out again and start over. This is one of those puppy training games for the whole family to get in on! Have everyone stand in a big circle in the backyard. It seems simple, but we always end up having a laugh at the antics that puppies get into when they start running around the circle looking for who has called! Pick two objects and set them in front of your puppy. Say the name of one object a few times, and wait. Repeat, using the same object as the target a few times before repeating the same thing with another object. Then alternate back and forth and see how many sessions of this game it takes for your dog to know the names of the objects! However, as much as Labs love spending time with their families, they need activities that exercise them mentally and physically. Any activity that lets them work out their energy and challenges them is something that they find fun. Fetch It probably comes as no surprise that Labrador Retrievers love retrieving. What better way to do this than with a game of fetch? This activity is inexpensive, lets your Lab get plenty of exercise, and is an excellent opportunity to work on commands. Fetch can be played anywhere and with practically anything. Labs areenthralled by the opportunity to retrieve a stick, ball, or whatever you can find. Throw multiple toys or objects and ask your Lab to retrieve a certain one. Tug-of-war Tug-of-war is a classic game that dogs adore. It also is a great teaching moment as it prevents the buildup of possessive behavior. Agility Training Agility training is something that Labs excel in. You can build an agility training course with just about anything or go to a dog park. You will have to work with your dog to help them conquer the obstacles in front of them. This is a great bonding activity. In addition, Labs are eager to please and are working dogs. They enjoy having tasks and challenges, and agility trials are a great way to provide them with both. Instead, one of the best mentally stimulating pursuit in this list of Labrador Retriever activities is to move on to teaching them cool tricks. They can be a simple handshake. On the other hand, you can get as creative as you like, such as having them fetch a drink from the fridge. Again, Labs are working dogs, and teaching them new tricks keeps their mind engaged. Find the Treat This game is one of the more challenging Labrador Retrieveractivities on this list. Essentially, this game helps your Lab test their sense of smell as they try to differentiate between the scent of the treat and everything else around them. It may be difficult at first as they can be easily distracted by all the other smells around them. This game is a challenge that a Lab will enjoy. The concept behind these toys is to challenge your dog to get the treats out of the toy. Your dog will have to unroll the towel to find the treats. Chew Toys Labs are notorious chewers. Providing them with a good chew toy is not only crucial for their oral health, but it is incredibly entertaining to them. Hiking Hikes are a great way for both you and your Lab to enjoy the great outdoors. Not only will your Lab get the exercise they need, but they are also being exposed to a variety of scents and sounds. Remember to prepare for longer hikes and bring water and perhaps food for longer adventures. Labrador Retrievers were bred as waterdogs, and their webbed feet and otter-like tail account for that. Throwing things into the water and having them retrieve it is a great way to engage with your dog in the water. You can also throw things off a dock and have them dive into the water for even more fun. This list of fun activities to do with your Labrador Retriever isby no means an exhaustive list of all the things you can do with your Lab. There are a whole plethora of other ventures to explore. Remember, Labs love a good challenge and are always up to try something new.

This dog is what is known as a crossbreed, mixed breed, hybrid or designer dog. There is some controversy that comes along with owning a crossbreed dog like the Bullboxer Pit mix. Crossbreed dogs of old were once primarily created by breeders and experts who continued to breed and perfect these dogs until they were predictable enough to be considered purebreds. This is because newer generation crossbreeds are often less predictable than their purebred counterparts when it comes to health, temperament and appearance. However, there are some benefits to buying a crossbreed dog, especially when it comes to health. In fact, crossbreed dogs actually have a wider genepool than purebreds, which means they may be less likely to inherit specific health issues from one parent over the other. This is why experts recommend you consider both parent breeds and research aspects of their origin, appearance, temperament and health before deciding to invest in their crossbreed offspring. Originally bred for bull baiting and blood sports, the American Pitbull Terrier has played many roles throughout his existence. This loyal, energetic, and highly trainable canine makes a wonderful service dog and performs tasks for police, military, and even first responders. And, in spite of his bad rep, the American Pitbull Terrier has been found to do remarkably well with children. However, this is a high energy dog who requires consistent training, socialization, exercise and attention. For this reason, the Pitbull is best suited for experienced and responsible dog owners. This is a dog with a long history going back nearly 2, years, where his origins connect him to ancient war dogs. Like the Pitbull, the Boxer has played many roles throughout history, including working as a service dog, a military and police dog, a guide dog, a guard dog and a war dog in both World Wars. For this reason, it is likely that your Pitbull Boxer Mix will look more like one dog over the other. That said, both the American Pitbull Terrier and the Boxer have some similarities when it comes to appearance. These similarities include size, coat type, and coat color. This means your Pitbull Boxer Mix is likely going to weigh between 50 to 80 pounds, and he can come in a variety of colors including black, tan, white, fawn, brindle, blue, and blue cream. Pitbull Boxers are smooth coated dogs that shed moderately, so they may not be ideal for allergy sufferers. Their ears are naturally going to be floppy and they have long tails. With Boxers, it is common for some breeders to dock their tails and clip their ears. With Pitbulls, clipped ears are also quite common. However, this practice is becoming less and less popular and is even discouraged by many breed clubs, breeders and associations. Furthermore, since the Pitbull Boxer mix is a hybrid dog and therefore not eligible for show, there is really no reason at all to have his tail docked or ears clipped. This is great news for this sweet dog as this practice can be painful and lead to infections and other issues down the road. You already know that the Pitbull Boxer mix is going to be a larger dog, but did you know his personality is going to be just as big? This means that your Pitbull Boxer mix is going to require plenty of daily exercise each and every day in order to stay happy and healthy. Routine exercise for an average Pitbull Boxer mix will consist of at least two walks a day. Each walk should be around 40 minutes to an hour and should be conducted utilizing the proper walking equipment like a harness and leash. Since Pitbull Boxer mixes are stronger dogs with lots of energy, they can be prone to pulling on leash. Some owners turn to prong collars and choke chains to reduce pulling, though recent studies have found that this type of equipment may actually be dangerous for certain breeds. Instead, experts recommend using front clip harnesses or head harnesses to not only reduce pulling in your Bullboxer Pit but to also make walking more comfortable and safe. The Halti Head Collar. Brindle 2. She needs plenty of exercise and lots of play! Given that both the Boxer and the Pitbull were bred for use as working dogs, these breeds are very energetic, so your Boxer Pitbull Mix requires a lot of exercise. This is what a well-exercised Boxer Pitbull Mix should look like: The Boxer Pitbull Mix is very playful and will need lots of toys at home. Careful, though! With her strong jaw and love of chewing, this dogs can destroy a chew toy within minutes. When you take her out, take a ball or a Frisbee to play fetch. She will love it! You should take her out for a brisk one-hour walktwice a day. If you are running, twenty minutes to half an hour should be enough. If your dog tires you will notice her slowing or beginning to pant excessively you should stop for a five-minute break and hydrate her. I recommend taking out a collapsible doggie bowl in which you can give her water. A note on exercising your Pitbull Boxer Mix puppy This advice on exercise applies to the adult dog only, as when large-breed puppies do too much running and ball-chasing this can cause long-term injuries. With your Pitbull Boxer Mix puppy, it is best to do lots of short walks and indoor play until she matures, at about 1 year — 16 months. Watch this 11 week old Pitbull Boxer Mix. She is curious, playful, active, and absolutely, jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Whatever the weather — not with this dog! In rainy weather, she will need a doggie coat to keep her warm. During summer months, it is best to take her out in the early morning or the evening when the sun is less intense. She may still need sunscreen, but make sure you purchase one without zinc oxide, as it is toxic for dogs. The Pitbull is also a very affectionate dog when well-socialized, who will lick you all over if you give her an inch. She was in fact bred for both work and companionship , and due to her gentle nature, is beginning to be used more and more as a therapy dog. Both Boxer and Pitbull are also great with children , which makes them excellent family dogs. The Boxer is very patient and protective, while the Pitbull is solid, a people-pleaser and highly trainable. So mix them together and what have you got? A companionable, affectionate dog who fits in perfectly with a family, wants a lot of attention and gives in return. It is, of course, worth noting that as puppies they are going to be more hyper, and so their contact with children must be supervised. Also, your dog must be well-exercised to be around children, as if not she will be incredibly excitable and could knock over a small child. Her guard dog instinct is strong, which can be useful if there is an intruder or attacker. These are courageous dogs who used to risk their lives baiting bulls, so have no doubt that she will defend you and yours if necessary. If this instinct gets out of hand, however, it can become a problem. You must make sure that you socialize your Boxer Pitbull Mix from a young age with as many people as you can. Invite friends and neighbors to your home and provide her with a positive association by having the person give her a treat when they arrive. As long as you train her well and stay consistent, this dog will be the friendliest dog around. She might be too hands-on for older pets Providing they are both socialized properly, both breeds can get on well with other animals, particularly Boxers. As for play style, Pitbulls can be rough and Boxers like to use their front paws when playing much like a boxer… oh, that makes sense! People are also beginning to look past the negative stigma around Pitbulls and realize their high intelligence and trainability, too. Director of Operations at Universal K9 claims that out of the hundreds of dogs he has trained for police work, the Pitbull, Kiah, is one of the top three he has ever placed. These dogs can be stubborn, though, meaning that you need to be firm and consistent with them. As long as you are in charge, your Boxer Pitbull Mix should pick up basic commands quickly. Make sure you do enough repetition and provide rewards and lots of praise. As puppies, they are boisterous and energetic little characters. You will need to be assertive in order to get their focus. She is a moderate shedder Though these dogs have a short coat, they are moderate shedders and will require a good grooming session once a week. They will probably lose more fur in the Spring, from April through May, so it may be a good idea to brush her twice a week during these periods. She will also need her ears checked monthly, either at the vet or with a reputable groomer. She is usually healthy but has some potential health concerns The Pitbull Boxer Mix is generally a healthy breed, as both pure breeds are as long as she gets sufficient exercise, of course and as I mentioned in the intro it can live for up to 13 years. Having said that, it is always worth being informed on any potential health issues this breed can develop, so here are the main ones your dog could be prone to: Cancer While the majority of Boxers are healthy , they are at risk of an aggressive form of cancer called hemangiosarcoma , which occurs in the blood vessel cells. It can be difficult to detect, but signs can include weakness, a distended abdomen, difficulty breathing and weight loss. If you notice any of these symptoms in your dog, talk to your veterinarian as soon as possible, as this cancer can spread rapidly. Hip dysplasia This condition consists of a malformation of the hip joint, where it is unstable or loose in the socket. The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals shows that this condition occurs in both breeds , although Pitbulls are more susceptible. Severe cases can lead to arthritic joints and lameness. Signs can include walking or running with an altered gait and reluctance to fully extend their rear legs or jump. Weight control helps enormously with this condition; keep her slim, as any excess weight will put stress on her joints. Heart disease The Boxer is prone to a heart problem called aortic stenosis , which in most cases of the disease the dog is born with. This disease causes narrowing of the aortic valve, which puts pressure on the heart. Symptoms can include rapid breathing or difficulty breathing, sudden loss of consciousness, and congestive heart failure. If your vet picks up a heart murmur, the diagnosis can be confirmed with an X-ray and a cardiac ultrasound. Allergies Pitbulls can have various allergies , so your Pitbull Boxer Mix may be susceptible. They can be treated with antihistamines, and in the case of skin irritation, you should use shampoos specifically designed for sensitive skin. Conclusion Are you a family with children without any older pets? Are you ready to dedicate your days to plenty of exercise and play with your new lively companion? Can you give her the consistent training she needs? If the answer is yes to all of the above, you are more than ready to own a Pitbull Boxer Mix, and she will be more than happy to have you. Have you got a Pitbull Boxer Mix and a story to share? Comment below! About Alexandra Animalso I was raised to be a dog person. My first Shepherd grew up as I did and wanted to be where I was at all times. I got my second dog as a 16th birthday present, and her loyalty for me was just as strong as my first. I hope that my contribution to Animalso will help others find dogs who give them that same unconditional love. Had her posted on the local shelter site but no takers. We have a year-old Chihuahua and 8-year-old Yorkie so keeping the new dog inside is not possible. For a temporary measure we put a cardboard box with lots of pillows and blankets warmed in the dryer on the porch swing. It has since warmed up into the range. She appears to be happy running around outside and sleeping on the porch swing near the now chewed up box. We have ordered a dog house for her and are having her spayed tomorrow. We are a late middle-aged couple but I hope to be able to walk with her at least once a day. I hope you can wish us well for rescuing her. Although a playful pup sounds endearing, consider how many games of fetch or tag you want to play each day, and whether you have kids or other dogs who can stand in as playmates for the dog. Due to the care and attention Bullboxer Pits require from an owner, many of them can end up in shelters. Pitbull Boxer Mix Exercise Requirements The general advice for most dogs would be to train them while they are young. But in the case of your Pitbull Boxer cross, you have to very cautious. Puppies of large-breed origin that exerts too much energy from running or playing can cause injuries that may last his lifetime. For puppies, activities may be limited to regular short walks or play until it has reached a certain maturity, around one year up to 16 months. As it gets old, the daily exercise requirement will also change. For an adult Pitbull boxer, minutes of exercise should be adequate to maintain good health. It is a very energetic hybrid so they will thrive in a lively environment. An ideal home would mean lots of space to move around, inside or in the backyard. Some states enforce restrictions with regards to Pitbull mixes like your pitbull boxer, so you have to keep it on a leash while out exercising. Using a leash will also prevent them from running into or jumping into everyone they encounter. They are most happy walking around in the city or the Dog Park or even trudging in the mountains. Another essential thing to consider is the weather. During the rainy season, your dog will need a raincoat to protect her from the rain and also to keep her warm. Sunscreen can be used but avoid products with zinc oxide, as it is a poisonous substance. The jacket provides full chest coverage, and the solid print is stylishly chic. It is guaranteed durable — it features a galvanized cable and coated with crack-resistant vinyl. It should be able to withstand up to 7x the weight of your dog. My Dog Nose It! Pitbull Boxer Cross Training The combination of Pitbull and Boxer is explosively stubborn, so it is a suitable pet for someone with a firm and unyielding grip in training and socialization. And as always, your dog will react and respond best with positive reinforcement, rewards, and incentives. Punishment will never work, and more often than not, will only create or aggravate behavioral problems. It is essential to reward your pet to encourage positive behavior. Early socialization and training from puppyhood will form the foundation of a well-adjusted dog. Training your Pitbull Boxer should be a piece of cake because of their ability to pick up commands. To get their focus though, you would need to be tough and establish yourself as the master and make him obey you. We listed some training activities you can try out with your petpal: Behavior Training — How do you train him to stop barking mad? Constant practice will help you achieve the desired effect but never shout at him even if he continues to bark. Also, allow him to learn commands other than barking. Keep in mind that the goal is to reward your pup for being silent. Chores Training — Teach him to fetch your newspaper for you. Playing fetch with a toy or a ball should prep your dog for this activity. All you have to do is replace the toy with the newspaper and tech your Pitbull boxer how to get it, pick it up or bring it back to you. Fun Training — Rollover is one activity designed with your big Boxer Pitbull in mind. Start with getting your dog to lie down, and eventually how to roll over. Make sure you reward each action accordingly, and of course, practice makes perfect. Pitbull Boxer Combination And Families The Pitbull Boxer will become accustomed to any family dynamic most especially when trained well and socialized correctly. Their energetic and sometimes rowdy nature can knock off small bodies, so be extra careful if you have kids. There are specific training designed to help you manage this kind of behavior. Check with your local authorities with regards to the legal status of Pitbull mixes in your area. Find out if your Boxer pitbull mix is banned or restricted. Not only will they thrive in large spaces to allow lots of movement, but they will also want owners who will dedicate their time to train and socialize and to love and care for them. Pitoxer Description The Bullboxer Pit is not a purebred dog. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in any of the breeds in the hybrid. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. He's 11 months old soon to be 1 and enjoys chew toys, meat sticks, long walks on the beach literally and generally giving everyone love. He was a bit shy at first, but once he got to know me he came around. He has a high dislike for other dogs from being attacked at a young age, but he is a good dog all around. He is a energetic little guy who is constantly pestering his mom to play with him. He loves his treats and is starting to learn basic commands very quickly. When the day is over and it's time to call it a night he's the first one to cuddle up with you and is off to dreaming most likely of chasing his mom around the yard within minutes. He has been a great addition to the family, and unlike his parents when they were his age he has been great at not chewing on things other than his chew toys. I've only lost one hat to his playfull chewing, which is considerably better than countless shoes, cords, hats etc that his parents had destroyed by the time they were 4 months old. I look forward to watching him grow up and turn into what I'm sure will be the most popular and handsome dog on the block. She is a great dog. She is very loving and has more Pit Bull characteristics than Boxer. She has the Boxer lips and lower jaw that sticks out a little further than the upper. He is very fast, hence his name. Rocket is a fast learner. He learned many tricks including high five, shake, sit and lie down at only 4 months old. Rocket loves to learn! He loves Meaty Bones. He is a loving dog like a Boxer but also strong and muscular like an American Pit Bull. I rescued Rocket from people who were feeding him raw meat and kicking him just when he was about a month old. He is the best dog I have ever had. His mother was a Pit Bull and his father a Boxer. He's very sweet and sleeps a lot. He's a climber! He's also very smart. He already knows sit, stay, lie down, come here, his name, go potty, as well as a variety of other words that indicate where to go crate, bedroom, outside. He is so gentle that he can attack a balloon playfully for 35 minutes before popping it.Everyone loves him and he's changing everyone's attitudes about Pit Bull type dogs or Pit Bull mixes. Unlike its parent breeds, the Boxer and the American Pit Bull Terrier, which have long-standing histories, the Boxer Pitbull Mix is relatively new to the canine world. This crossbreeding aimed to create a breed that encapsulates the best traits of both parent breeds. These dogs are incredibly affectionate with their families, forming strong bonds with both adults and children. They are also known for their athletic build and high energy levels, requiring plenty of exercise to keep them content and healthy. The American Pit Bull Terrier brings its strength, loyalty, and eagerness to the Boxer Pitbull Mix, contributing significantly to its personality. Boxers are also highly protective of their families, making them excellent watchdogs. Their muscular physique, unique square muzzle, and playful demeanor add a lot of charm to the Boxer Pitbull Mix. They are energetic, intelligent, and protective, making them excellent companions for active families. Their loyalty and affectionate nature also mean they form strong bonds with their families, making them a beloved pet in many households. This mix is a testament to the successful blending of the strength and tenacity of the American Pit Bull Terrier with the playfulness and protective nature of the Boxer. With a broad chest and a strong, powerful jaw, these dogs are a testament to the physical prowess of their parent breeds. Their eyes are typically round and full of life, reflecting their energetic and playful nature. The Pitbull Boxer Mix is a robust and muscular breed, ready to take on any physical challenge with enthusiasm. Size and Weight of the Bullboxer Pit The Bullboxer Pit is a medium to large-sized breed, typically weighing between 50 to 80 pounds and standing about 17 to 25 inches tall. This size makes them suitable for families with enough space to accommodate these active and energetic dogs. Overview of the Various Coat Colors The Boxer Pitbull Mix can sport a variety of coat colors, ranging from solid shades to mixed patterns. This diversity in coat colors results from the wide range of colors present in its parent breeds, the Boxer and the American Pit Bull Terrier. However, some dogs may also sport unique, beautiful coat patterns that mix these colors. This type of coat is easy to groom and maintain, making it ideal for potential owners who prefer low-maintenance breeds. Despite its short length, the coat is dense enough to protect the dog adequately against the elements. This pattern mixes dark and light stripes over the base coat color, creating a unique and beautiful effect. The brindle pattern results from a specific gene, and the intensity of the pattern can vary from dog to dog. This coat color can range from pure white to white with patches of other colors. Despite their striking appearance, potential owners should note that white Boxer Pitbull Mixes may be prone to certain skin conditions and deafness. This mix often results in a coat with a solid brown color with white markings or a white coat with brown patches. The unique blend of these two colors gives this variant a distinctive and appealing look. This coat color gives the breed a sleek and striking appearance. This unique coloration is due to a specific gene, making this variant rare and highly sought after. These dogs sport a coat that ranges from light brown to deep red. They also have a distinctive red nose, which gives them their name. This breed is a perfect blend of the playful, energetic nature of the Boxer and the intelligent, eager-to-please personality of the American Pit Bull Terrier. The result is a fun, engaging but also trainable, and loyal dog. These dogs are known for their playful and energetic nature, which they inherit from their Boxer parent. They are also incredibly intelligent and eager to please, traits they get from their American Pit Bull Terrier parent. This combination of traits results in a dog that is both fun-loving and trainable. Boxer Pitbull Mixes are also known for their protective nature. They are incredibly loyal to their families and will not hesitate to protect them if they sense any danger. Despite their protective instincts, they are generally friendly towards strangers, provided they have been properly socialized. One thing to note about the Boxer Pitbull Mix is their high energy levels. These dogs love to play and need plenty of exercise to keep them happy and healthy. They are always up for a game of fetch or a long walk, making them perfect companions for active individuals or families. They are known for their affectionate nature and love nothing more than spending time with their human companions. Their playful and energetic nature makes them great playmates for children. Boxer Pitbull Mixes are also known to get along well with other pets, especially if they have been socialized from a young age. They are generally friendly towards other dogs and can even live peacefully with cats. Training Your Pitbull Boxer Mix Training your Pitbull Boxer Mix can be a rewarding experience, as these dogs are known for their intelligence and eagerness to please. However, their high energy levels and strong will can sometimes pose a challenge, making it important to approach training with patience, consistency, and positivity. Introducing your dog to a variety of people, environments, and other animals at a young age can help them grow into well-rounded and confident adults. Socialization helps to prevent behavioral issues such as fear, aggression, or anxiety, and promotes positive interactions with others. This method involves rewarding desired behavior, which encourages the dog to repeat it. Rewards can include treats , praise, or playtime. This helps the dog understand what behavior is being rewarded. Common issues can include excessive barking , chewing , or digging. These behaviors can often be addressed through training and providing adequate mental and physical stimulation. If behavioral issues persist, seeking help from a professional dog trainer or behaviorist may be beneficial. Additionally, their intelligence makes Pitbull Boxer Mixes require mental stimulation to prevent boredom. This can be achieved through puzzle toys, agility training, or advanced obedience training. Ensuring that these dogs get enough exercise is crucial for their overall health and happiness. It also helps to prevent potential behavioral issues from a lack of physical activity. These dogs are energetic and athletic and need an outlet for their energy. Regular exercise helps to keep them fit and healthy and helps prevent issues such as obesity, which can lead to other health problems. Exercise can include activities such as walks, runs, playtime in the yard, or games of fetch. Structured Play and Exercise Sessions Structured play and exercise sessions can be a great way to provide both physical exercise for a Pitbull Boxer Mix. These sessions can include games of fetch, agility training, or even tasks that mimic the work these breeds were originally bred for. These activities provide exercise and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Puppies and older dogs may not be able to handle as much physical activity as young adult dogs. Similarly, dogs with health issues may require modified exercise routines. Always consult your vet to determine the appropriate amount and type of exercise for your dog. Ensure your dog receives a diet appropriate for their age, size, and activity level. A diet that is high in quality protein can support their muscular physique and high energy levels. Always consult with your vet for specific dietary recommendations. Despite their short coat, these dogs still require regular grooming to keep their coat healthy and their skin in good condition. The grooming routine for a Pitbull Boxer Mix is relatively straightforward and manageable, even for first-time dog owners. Regular brushing, about once a week, can help to remove loose hairs and keep the coat looking its best. During shedding seasons, more frequent brushing may be necessary to manage shedding. Despite their short coat, these dogs can still shed quite a bit, so regular brushing can help to keep shedding under control. However, more frequent baths may be necessary if your dog gets dirty from outdoor activities. Use a dog-friendly shampoo to keep their skin and coat healthy. In addition to brushing, providing your dog with dental chews can help to keep their teeth clean and healthy. Nail Trimming and Ear Cleaning Nail trimming and ear cleaning are also important aspects of grooming. Nails should be trimmed regularly to prevent overgrowth, which can cause discomfort or issues with walking. Ears should be checked and cleaned regularly to prevent infections. If you need help with how to perform these grooming tasks, your vet or a professional groomer can provide guidance. Regular Check-ups Regular check-ups with your vet are an important part of grooming and overall care. Your vet can check for any skin issues, parasites, or other health issues that may require attention. Regular check-ups can help to catch any potential issues early, ensuring your Pitbull Boxer Mix stays healthy and happy. Being aware of these potential health issues can help you take proactive steps to ensure the health and longevity of your dog. These can include hip dysplasia , heart conditions, hypothyroidism , and certain skin conditions. While this may sound concerning, remember that not all Boxer Pitbull Mixes will get any or all of these conditions. Regular check-ups with your vet can help to identify and manage these conditions early. Your vet can perform routine screenings for common health issues and provide preventative care such as vaccinations and parasite prevention. Feeding your dog a diet appropriate for their age, size, and activity level can help prevent issues such as obesity, which can lead to other health problems. Your vet can provide specific dietary recommendations for your dog. Exercise and Mental Stimulation for Health Regular exercise and mental stimulation are important for the overall health of your Boxer Pitbull Mix. Regular physical activity can help to prevent obesity and associated health issues, while mental stimulation can help to keep your dog mentally sharp Genetic Testing and Health Screening Genetic testing and health screening can be beneficial for identifying potential health issues early. Discuss with your vet whether these tests would benefit your Boxer Pitbull Mix. Lifespan of a Pitbull Boxer Mix The lifespan of a dog can be influenced by a variety of factors, including its breed, genetics, diet, and overall care. The Boxer Dog Mix Pitbull typically enjoys a life filled with energy and vigor, and with proper care, these dogs can share many happy years with their families. This is an average range and individual dogs can live shorter or longer lives depending on various factors such as their overall health, genetics, and the care they receive. Genetics play a significant role, as certain health conditions can be inherited from the parent breeds. Diet and exercise are also crucial, as a balanced diet and regular physical activity can contribute to a healthy life. Promoting a Long and Healthy Life As a pet owner, there are several steps you can take to promote a long and healthy life for your Bullboxer Pit. Senior dogs may require a different diet, more frequent vet visits, and modifications to their exercise routine. These dogs are known for their loyalty, energy, and affectionate nature. However, potential adopters should be prepared for the responsibilities of owning this high-energy, intelligent breed. These dogs require regular exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent training. They also thrive in homes where they can participate in family activities. Consider your living situation, work schedule, and activity level before adopting. Animal shelters and breed-specific rescue groups are good places to start. These organizations often have mixed breed dogs like the Bullboxer Pit looking for their forever homes. You can also check with local animal control agencies or online adoption platforms. The Adoption Process The adoption process can vary depending on the organization. Generally, it involves filling out an application, meeting the dog, and going through an interview or home visit. Some organizations may also require references or a fee. This includes supplies like a collar, leash, food and water bowls, dog food, and a comfortable bed. You should also puppy-proof your home by removing any hazardous items and setting up a designated area for your new pet. Establish a routine for feeding, exercise, and training. Be patient and consistent with your new pet as they adjust to their new home. Remember, adopting a pet is a long-term commitment, but with love and care, your Bullboxer Pit can become a cherished member of your family. These can range from initial adoption or purchase costs to ongoing food, healthcare, grooming, and more expenses. Initial Costs The initial cost of a Bullboxer Pit can vary greatly depending on whether you choose to adopt or purchase from a breeder. Ongoing Costs Ongoing costs include food, regular veterinary care, grooming, and pet insurance if you choose to purchase it.
