Eventually, when he can handle small amounts of time, you can extend his free times to longer and longer periods, until he can be home alone several hours of the day. The crate can be in your room, but your puppy should not be allowed to sleep with you. Using a crate is an excellent way to ensure that your puppy will not destroy something valuable. Provided the breeder understands assessment for temperament, in both the labrador and poodle, and whether the individual temperaments of the two parents make each a fit candidate for breeding. Provided the breeder has a well thought out and early development program for the puppies. Provided the breeder has sought potential buyers prior to the sale and vetted those buyers carefully, so that there is no chance any of the pups end up homeless. Provided the breeder truly understands all issues around coat allergies, seeks to educate buyers about what one might expect and what one cannot expect - and requires that any potential buyer who suffers from allergies be thoroughly tested with the individual puppy, and again once the dog is an adult.
