There are four grades of patellar luxation, ranging from grade I, an occasional luxation causing temporary lameness in the joint, to grade IV, in which the turning of the tibia is severe and the patella cannot be realigned manually. The Red Labradoodle as a Hybrid But what you need to know first is that, underneath all that fur, your Labradoodle dog carries genes from two purebred dogs. The Standard Poodle and the Labrador Retriever. This is why the Labradoodle is called a hybrid breed as it has parents from two different purebred lineages. There is technically no such thing as a purebred Labradoodle. A red Labradoodle that has one miniature Poodle parent and one Labrador Retriever parent is called a mini-Labradoodle.
