I would love to have someday miniature varieties of my well-bred poodles and hybrids doodles. Still, I've yet to find breeding dogs that exemplify their standard counterparts in structure, temperament, and health that are owned by breeders who will share them with me. If you want a mini doodle Aussiedoodle mini size , please consider finding a breeder who rigorously performs health and temperament tests. Pedigrees Are Important Please look for a breeder with registered dogs or one who can provide, at minimum, three-generation pedigrees for every breeding dog. Registration is not as important as having honest pedigrees. A dog can be unregistered, but the breeder can still have access to quality pedigrees that show that dog's lineage. This is important to prevent inbreeding. Without a pedigree, a breeder cannot be sure if they are inbreeding. Because "mini Aussies" are not registerable, while Miniature American Shepherds are, many breeders of mini and toy Aussies do not have pedigrees. They cannot effectively prevent inbreeding in their programs. An ethical breeder will be willing to furnish a copy of pedigrees for their dogs upon request. A pedigree is not the same as registration papers. A dog's pedigree refers to the lineage or family tree of the dog, including information about the dog's ancestors and their characteristics. My husband has a family member with a phenomenal small standard Australian Shepherd. His owner called him a "miniature Aussie. We met the dog, and he wasn't miniature at all! He was a slightly smaller-than-normal Aussie. We interacted with him over a weekend vacation and just knew that Chet the Aussie and our small Standard Poodle, Chloe, needed to have puppies. He is much smaller than an Australian Shepherd; however, he looks identical to one in structure and other physical features. He does not have short legs and prick ears. He looks like an Aussie, only smaller! This proper structure indicates sound breeding decisions by his owner and we are so proud to have Chet at the foundation of our Aussiedoodle lines. Chet comes from the foundation Miniature American Shepherd stock. Many dogs from this original breeding stock are not registered with large pedigree databases such as the AKC. The puppies were not only gorgeous, but they were sweet, intelligent, and entertaining. They remain to be one of our most popular litters to date. We learned a lot from the first litter of Aussiedoodles. We knew that we would need to continue to carefully select breeding pairs based on structure, health, and especially temperament. These Aussiedoodle puppies displayed a very balanced mix of herding and protection traits from the Australian Shepherd or Miniature American Shepherd , as well as the enhanced intelligence and composure of the Standard Poodle. Sully I have to lean quite heavily towards the Husky side for Sully. Kona konathegoldenhusky highlighted a stubborn streak that is something often attributed to the Husky breed. I think most of the time we see a pretty even mix between the two breeds, but at times she might show more Golden traits. She is a very social, gentle, and affectionate dog and will always seek out attention from anybody around, which probably comes from the Golden Retriever side of her. This probably comes from her Husky side. We can take a look at how our three Goberian dog owners tire their dogs out. High [exercise needs] … very high. He is the mix of two very active breeds and requires roughly miles per day. Thankfully, he is a very social dog and can get a large amount of his energy out at the dog park. In addition, he loves to be offleash in Central Park. His recall is temperamental. He displays the husky stubbornness every now and then. We are able to stick to a good, regular routine with his exercise fortunately as his dad loves outdoor time. Unsurprisingly he enjoys 7 — 9 miles over 3 walks on an average day, more at weekends if we head out to countryside, though I think he would be fine with less. No looking back! We try to take her, at the very minimum, on a walk every day. We love taking her outdoors on hikes, trips to the beach, and playdates with other dogs. These activities are crucial to her health and well-being. Do Goberian Shed A Lot? However, each Goberian will have different levels of shedding, something which is emphasised by our Goberian contributors. Surprisingly, he sheds far less that his purebred parents. Their coat is thick but feels more similar to a long haired lab. It is waterproof and dries quickly. Affectionately known as Goberian Glitter. Yes and no. For these two to three months of the year the shedding is a mess and covers everything in sight with her white undercoat fur. However, for the rest of the year she has very little to no shedding at all. Overall, the shedding is very manageable if we stay on top of it. Do Goberian Rerquire Grooming? By sticking to a grooming regime, you can regularly remove dead hair from their coat. We do use a professional groomer every 8 weeks, but more to check nails and hygiene trim. Are Goberian Hard To Train? Siberian Huskies can be a little trickier. With an independent streak, some Siberian Huskies can prove difficult to train. Goberians are likely to be smart dogs but they could also inherit this stubborn streak from their Husky parent. They are extremely intelligent. Not hard to teach them commands, however they are not extremely food motivated and tend to be a bit stubborn. If you find toys or balls to get his interest, you are in the clear. The largest challenge has been walk training. They are truly built to pull, so it takes some time to teach them how to walk side by side as companions. He is smart. Super smart. And equally as stubborn! Teaching all the early basics was straight forward and he was potty trained in the first week at home. I think with the right training method and lots of patience you could teach them almost anything. Kona konathegoldenhusky required time to adapt to potty training. It was actually pretty easy! She is an extremely smart dog so she was able to quickly pick up on most things. Kona is also very food-motivated, which definitely made the training easier. I think the hardest part of her training was the potty training. Golden Retrievers are perhaps the quintessential family dog thanks to their goofy but loving personalities. Siberian Huskies are active dogs that like to be around their owners. Therefore, Goberians are perfectly-suited to active, young families. Extremely [family friendly]. Loves children and babies and is very delicate. He once passed a toddler and made sure to give them a gentle kiss on the face as he passed by. As with all breeds early introduction and setting boundaries plays a major part and he now sees everyone as a potential playmate, probably a bit too trusting at times! Kona is a very loving and social dog, but is also extremely loyal and protective. I think the Golden Husky breed combines excellent traits from both breeds that can lead to a great family dog. Some of the symptoms of separation anxiety include barking, howling, whining, chewing, digging or even defecating inside the home. We have a doggy cam and he now just snoozes. He allows us to willingly leave him at groomers etc without fuss so his anxiety levels appear low as he trusts us to come back. Are Goberian Fussy Eaters? Sully developed fussy eating habits from around 7 months old, around the same time he realised he could manipulate us with a bit of strong will as his preference was, and will probably always remain, bits of human food. More often than not a treat will just bounce off his head or he spits them out! So you may find it hard to unearth a Goberian breeder. Alternatively, you may find a Golden Retriever Siberian Husky mix at your local rescue shelter. You can clean their ears with a cotton ball and a dog-specific ear solution. You should never use a cotton swab for their ears. You can also use a cotton ball with mineral oil or microfiber cloth with mineral oil to remove debris from the eyes. The frequency of this activity depends on the rate of its toenail growth. Long names may break, and cause irregular gait and infection. If you do not have this much time in your hands, you should schedule appointments with trustworthy groomers around your neighborhood. Husky Mixed with Golden Retriever Puppies Health Problems Most of the Husky mixed with Golden Retriever dogs are free of fatal and congenital diseases, primarily because of their enlarged gene pool.
