labradoodle puppies for sale in wirral
When our son heard we were discontinuing breeding our line of mixed retrievers in February of , he reserved a female pup from that litter and asked us to permit him to continue our family's breeding operation. Our new puppies will continue the same lineage, be raised at the same location, and their care will be supervised by our original, experienced breeders. We're ecstatic to be able once again to offer our Ranch's established, well-loved breedline to both new and existing adoptive families. We hope for our first new litter to be available near the end of .If you would like to reserve a puppy from upcoming litters, please contact Russ at , or send email to puppies at libertyhaven. Please enjoy the following "photo tour" of our breeding philosophy, and sample photos of some of our Ranch's earlier puppies! Our past adopters write us: Bella is doing wonderfully at eight weeks. She has learned to come, stay, and sit on command. My girls have also taught her how to shake. She is so smart and very eager to please. Every time she comes back in the house after potty, she sits and waits patiently for her treat. We start basic obedience next week. We are having so much fun with her and can't believe she is ours. She comes from great stock. It's hard to believe that Bella is going to be four in December. She is an amazing dog. We love her so much, and we have you to thank! Our only regret was not bringing two puppies home! She did an unbelievable job for a month-old puppy. She jumped and retrieved these four pheasant and just made my day. I have had a few good dogs and some great ones in my life, but Ruby is the best at this age. She is calm and easy to work with. At the end, I had to tell them, "You can't go wrong with any of these puppies—they all have wonderful personalities. Heidi goes with me wherever I go, and always looks forward to it. We are just absolutely enjoying the heck out of these pups. You show her once and she gets it! Yesterday, I was out running errands and was gone for a good four hours… When I got back, she greeted me at the door with my other two Goldens. Needless to say, she knows how to open a crate. Nash slept all night long. In 24 hours, he has only made two small piddles indoors, and he's already mastered the doggy door. Opey is thrilled with Nash. He's even letting him play with his dog toys. I was extremely surprised at how well they got along. He's now sleeping at my feet. We couldn't be happier! We breed our puppies with love and personal attention. All our puppies have been raised by our family on our Ranch. Each one has been handled, cuddled, carried around with us, and thoroughly imprinted to be people-oriented. Our puppies are family-friendly and very loyal; hardy and healthy; great swimmers and fetchers; and generally very calm, happy dogs. They have good hunting and retrieving instincts, and with appropriate training would make great hunting companions. Our puppies may be reserved at any age, but we keep our litters with their mother until the age of eight weeks. Our fee includes all appropriate immunizations and vet checks to eight weeks. Puppies who come of age in warmer months are introduced to swimming in a stress-free manner designed to eliminate fear of the water, promote the puppy's confidence in his own swimming ability, and teach the puppy how and where to exit the pool easily. We screen our recipient families conscientiously, and try to match them with puppies with the temperament and personality they desire. We observe how our recipient families interact with our puppies. We will not sell or ship a puppy to a buyer we have not gotten to know. We enjoy keeping in touch with our puppies' owners, hearing about their pets' lives and accomplishments, and receiving photos. Many of our new owners hear about us through word-of-mouth from other satisfied owners. To us, these puppies are extended family. Buyers traveling long distances can often spend the night right onsite at a Ranch facility, depending on availability. Our puppies go quickly. If having a choice of coat, color, and personality is important to you, please schedule an early visit to place a deposit on the puppy of your choice. Although we currently have a waiting list for puppies, many folks simply drop off because we can't offer puppies every month; so, if you are interested, please call us today at the number above to reserve your position. New prospective families have a very good chance at any upcoming litter. Transportation info: Air travelers should be advised that puppies of these breeds are often too large to fit in under-seat carriers by eight weeks, and because of our desert temperatures, airlines departing from Phoenix Sky Harbor will not accept animals in their baggage compartments between roughly May and October. We will release puppies at seven weeks to accommodate air travelers, and strongly recommend use of a soft-sided under-seat carrier. Check ahead of time with your chosen airline, because each airline has its own rules, and a few do not accept animals at all. We specifically breed this mix of Golden Retriever and Yellow Labrador —America's top two favorite breeds —because we and many other people find them appealing. With shorter coats than a purebred Golden, they require less grooming and shed less. He was smart, gentle, and great with the kids. Recently, we lost him to old age, and the family was really hit hard. Now that we are searching for another dog, we looked all over the web to find anyone who intentionally breeds this mix, and you were the only one we found. At 18 months born Feb. She loves toys, swimming, roughhousing with her pack, and RV trips to the woods where she gets to pretend she's a "wild woof". Annie is 23" at the shoulder and weighs around 65 pounds. She has a short blonde coat with our line's distinctive white chest-blaze, and a smile of perfect pearly whites. Annie has a very outgoing personality, and loves everything and everybody. She's even become best playmates with one of our burros! Our most enthusiastic swimmer, she "dock dives" almost completely across our pool after her favorite ball. At 21" and 65 lbs. She is extremely good-natured and obedient, and was a wonderful mother. Annie's sire is Drake, a papered and certified chocolate Lab from off-Ranch. Luke, by Fergus out of Tracy was our second-generation mix: strong, healthy, and playful at 95 pounds, 27" at the shoulder. That's Luke as a puppy at the top of this page. He had his dad's fox-red coloring and his mom's Golden-style "feathers" on legs and tail, plus the beautiful white chest blaze that is a constant marker in our line. Like Fergus, he was a "leg-leaner" who loved attention and was very eager to please, and sired many puppies with Sandy, Heidi, and Honey. Fergus founded our breedline. He was a strapping 98 pounds none of it fat , 27" at the shoulder, with a block head and fox-red coloring. Born to pedigreed parents in Massachusetts, he was with us all his life, and travelled cross-country in our RV nine times. Luke All our adult dogs have been trained for obedience and snake avoidance, and have learned to communicate their needs and wants very effectively. Breed Title Goldador Puppies Temperament Goldadors are an amazing combination of the intelligence and trainability of the Labrador and the friendly, gentle personality of the Golden Retriever. With their outgoing, friendly character and sweet disposition, Goldadors make excellent family pets around children and other animals as they have a great aptitude for understanding people. In terms of temperament, these beloved pups are highly sociable but not overly boisterous or hyper; they enjoy playing fetch but rest just as happily on your lap or at your feet while you work. Golden Labrador Retriever Puppy Health Considerations Though generally very happy and long-lived — with an average lifespan of around years — our Goldadors for sale are not without their unique health concerns. Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing one of our Golden Labrador Retriever puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Finding a Golden Labrador puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can also dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. Depending on the climate they live in, Goldadors may need regular baths — however omitting shampoo once or twice a year will ensure their coat retains its natural oils. Finally it is recommended to check the ears regularly and trim nails as needed. Adopted Golden Labrador Retriever Puppies. Some exceptions may be made in special situations. While some of our dogs come from loving homes, all have been unexpectedly uprooted. Many come with training, confidence-building, or care needs that should be supported with positive reinforcement, patience, and ample time to bring out the best in your new companion. We generally require that you have a fenced yard exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. We ask that you are realistic about the right dog for your lifestyle and that you trust in our experience in making these matches. Click here for additional information. Dog Ratings The Level 1 dog is an easy dog with typically low energy level and has no behavioral issues. This level of dog would do well in virtually any home regardless of owner experience. Level 2 has energy that can range from low to high. This level may have other minor issues that are easy to address. Level 3 dogs typically have a challenging behavior, but are good dogs. These dogs might have an intense focus to work, be dog reactive or dog aggressive, may have to be an only animal in the home, or may require daily physical and mental stimulation, etc. This level of dog is not an average pet.
Also called the Bernese Mountain Poo, Bernesepoo, Bernesedoodle, and Bernepoo, the Bernedoodle hybid mixes the happy-go-lucky temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence of its Poodle parents. Mini Bernedoodles are happiest when they're spending time with their families, children included. They are willing participants in playtime and cuddle fests alike. Fans of the breed adore their friendliness, playfulness, intelligence, and affection. They are fairly adaptable and go with the flow. If you need a dog for the whole family, or if you're a single owner looking for a lovable, smart mixed-breed with good health that will put a smile on your face with their antics, you won't be able to find a much better choice than the Miniature Bernedoodle. They do well with children and other animals, and are happiest as part of a family. They love spending time with their human family and should not be left alone for long periods. They can be wary of strangers, but early training can help their socialization. Toy and mini Bernedoodles can be more energetic and stubborn than the standard version, but you will find them relatively easy to train because of that Poodle intelligence. Their skull is moderately round with flat cheekbones and a long, straight muzzle with a scissor bite. Their eyes are dark, oval, and set far enough apart to make their facial expressions appear alert and intelligent. Ears have wide and thick ear leather and hang close to the head, at or just below eye level. Coats can be curly, dense, and highly textured, or corded, hanging in tight even cords of varying lengths. The coat is tricolor with black as the base and markings in rich rust and clear white. The tail will vary in length, but it is bushy and carried high. Exercise Medium Activity Bernedoodles are moderately active and will love daily walks. They enjoy playing fetch and spending time with you. This breed tends to wander and hunt, so a fenced-in yard is important. They can adapt to urban or rural settings provided there is time and space for daily exercise. This breed requires a lot of human interaction, so leaving him alone outside for long periods will not work for the Bernedoodle. We recommend at least an hour of exercise every day. They will do well with time to fetch, run, and learn new tricks. I cannot fully articulate how delightful he is, you have to experience it for yourself to fully understand. As with almost all of our Bernedoodles, he will do well in just about any lifestyle and will be a loyal companion and friend for the family lucky enough to get him. This guy will be a loyal friend with his pleasing personality and laid back nature. Birthdate: Parents: Zuko and Fergie Just a few of the beautiful babies in our new litter. We breed for color, conformation and temperament. While we endeavor to keep our Bernedoodles moderately priced and affordable for most families, but top quality puppies are not inexpensive. Tri-Color Bernedoodles Rare colors are a passion at Cobblestone. We specialize in stunning Tri-Color and Tri-Color sables. Prices are higher for puppies that approach perfection in markings coat and color. Bernedoodle puppy health We believe that core nutrients are vital for raising healthy puppies. Shipping Your Bernedoodle Baby Our puppies travel with a Puppy Nanny to their new homes to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for each puppy that leaves Cobblestone. She has settled in just great. Oh my heart she is spoiled rotten! It's currently nap-time after playing with a new toy that squeaks. Thank you guys! I met Alicia through a friend, and she really helped me narrow down our decision, answering all my questions, with all things puppy new doggie Mom here We are so happy with Harlow, she is a micro Bernedoodle that loves to snuggle: I never knew how deeply we would fall in love, and so over the moon, to give our 3 children, the chance to experience this kind of unconditional, furry love! Thank you so much Alicia, Lexi, and Emme, and the Marshall family, for our sweet blessing. I came across Highfalutin Furry Babies, I found that no other breeder could compare to the level of love Alicia and Lexi put into their program!! She is constantly Giving Back, with all these amazing donations I think i cry almost every time I see a puppy donated, it absolutely warms my heart. I am more than honored to be able to support Alicia and Lexi!! It was so worth the wait just like everyone of the Highfalutin members told me it would be. I trusted them and put my faith into the program! One year later from the time I committed to a Highfalutin furry baby my puppy was hand delivered to me personally by Alicia. She spent two hours with us going over all kinds of information and details! Just what I was looking for, a very thorough breeder! It is now one week of having the puppy Home. He is an absolute joy! So smart! He knows a few commands already and he is just a few days shy of 10 weeks. He loves to snuggle with his Momma. Alicia we love you and your family and what you stand for. There are no words to express how grateful we are for you making sure our Christmas miracle came true!! Love The Potrzuski Family! He has surpassed even my wildest expectations. This is not because I enjoy talking about myself, but because it will show you how even the most clueless and inexperienced person in the world with dogs who defies all expectations about a dog owner fall in love with a HFFB baby. I'm 38 years old, single, never been married, no kids. Live in Los Angeles and work in the entertainment industry. The epitome of a bachelor. I've never had a dog before ever as a child. Instantly, I fell in love, but I knew having a dog that large would be tough. When a close family friend recommended Alicia and a bernedoodle, I did my research and realized my dream could become a reality. And then it happened. My Oscar moved to LA June 26th. He received additional training and after only two weeks, he is sleeping through the night, following commands including sit, wait, fetch, heel, etc and he is so excited to see me that he acts like he won Powerball. No one except my mother when I was an infant has ever felt this way about me haha! Oscar loves his crate, takes treats from neighbors and friends and smiles, eats regularly, enjoys his toys and being petted, and every single person in my social circle either loves him after meeting him or is dying to meet him. If I can do this as someone with ZERO dog experience, it will be a walk in the park for you and your family. Now to Alicia. Wow where do I even start: Alicia is one of the most caring and loving people I have ever met. She truly adores animals and treats them like her own children. They live in the home with her. Her passion jumps off the page and it makes a huge difference in the temperament of Oscar. Everything Alicia does is top-notch. From the amazing private support group on Facebook to the instructive breeding information to the recommendations of food, toys, and all equipment, she makes it so you absolutely cannot fail as a dog parent. Most of the dogs have their own Instagram pages and we all follow and support each other. In a time of divisiveness in our country, Alicia and her community provides a rare dose of positive energy that brings people so much happiness. In addition, I have made friends in Los Angeles with the parents of Oscar's siblings and Oscar's cousin and we have had play dates already! I message the mom of Oscar's brother Glover who lives in Boston a few times a week. We all compare notes and try to do better everyday and become better dog parents. Every single opportunity is given to the furry baby or the child to succeed. Alicia is like the principal of the school who makes the magic happen. But there are also guardians like Kamal and Natalie who are equally amazing who volunteer their time to make this community possible. Everything is buttoned up. There's nothing like it. Thanks for reading this long review, but I can't say enough about Alicia and Highfalutin. If you are just looking for a dog, HFFB might not be the right fit. But, if you want the best for your puppy and you feel like your puppy is part of the family and you are a responsible and loving person ready for an amazing and life changing experience, Highfalutin Furry Babies is the place for you. I guarantee it! Alicia does an amazing job of understanding the personalities of the puppies, matching them with owners and their lifestyles, as well as providing support to prospective and new owners. She always takes time to answer questions and support new owners. I am beyond thrilled with her caring nature and amazing knowledge of the breed. We were so lucky to find her!! She has created a supportive community of owners who answer questions and share experiences. What a wonderful breeder!! I cannot say enough amazing things about Highfalutin Furry Babies!!! Another awesome perk is that being a member of the HFFB family means we are all connected on social media as a community. We have a go to spot to ask questions, share advice, and make friends with fellow HFFB pawrents. We are so happy we went with Highfalutin Furry Babies! Alicia breeds the cutest furry babies and takes great care to ensure their health and positive traits. He was easy to train and is so smart. Our Brody was definitely worth the wait! I was a bit apprehensive when I started looking as we already have another dog at home that is perfect. How could another dog compare? Would we be disappointed? Well, she has completely stolen our hearts and I, like every high falutin furry baby parent, believe she is the best dog in the world. It was such a fun experience picking her up from the airport. No question was left unanswered and we felt totally prepared heading home. She is the happiest and most social dog I have ever encountered, and everyone that meets her, loves her. Our real life stuffed animal, adored by all! She is so smart and so very, very special. We feel incredibly blessed to call her ours. We are forever grateful to Alicia and her family for bringing these incredible dogs into the world. Trust the process. Initially wanting a boy, especially after losing our Winston, we were surprised and delighted when Alicia mentioned a girl. Piper was worth the wait! She is always happy, gentle, sweet natured, funny and just blends in with our family perfectly. Thank you Marshall family for an amazing dog! We spent years researching doodle breeds and breeders, and I never felt more confident throughout our research as I did once I found Highfalutin Furry Babies. As soon as we put our deposit down and joined the waiting list, we felt like a part of the family. Alicia, Lexie and Emme have built a wonderful community of families who are ready and able to support whenever and however needed. We waited a year for our Stevie Ray and, boy, was he worth the wait. Stevie slept through the night after just two nights at home, was near potty trained at only three months and is the star student in his puppy class. We are so in love with Stevie Ray, and we have Alicia to thank for bringing him into our lives. We cannot thank the Marshall family enough. Best decision of our lives! We had been on the waitlist and waited for the perfect baby! Alicia asked me a battery of questions as to what size, gender, coloring I wanted. Lucy was the exact match. I was concerned how my new puppy would get to my home. Alicia and her wonderful daughters flew in from Florida and hand delivered my precious new baby! Alicia stayed with us for a few days and made sure we were all compatible. Lucy is perfect! I am so impressed with her and give Alicia credit for her breeding ability and care. Not only is Lucy perfectly marked for a tricolored Bernedoodle, her temperament is also wonderful. He is truly perfect in every way. Alicia was so helpful during the whole process. Giving us updates and sharing health information on his growth. When Alicia brought him, she came ready with so much helpful information and lots of great tips, all wrapped up in his very own binder. My fiance and I cannot say enough amazing things about Highfalutin and Alicia. We feel absolutely blessed to be counted among her families and even more special to get to care for and love Ernie every day. It has been the best two months of my life. Brooklyn Poppy is sweet, smart, funny, and beautiful! She was almost potty trained after two short weeks, she knew basic commands at three months old, and loves all people and dogs to a fault. Even after bringing home our puppy, Alicia and the Highfalutin family still offer plenty of support for newbies like me. They have spoiled me with giving me the greatest puppy ever. Highfalutin Furry Babies is the only place I will be going for future dogs. We're so happy to be a part of their family with our puppy Indie, a standard bernedoodle. She is the sweetest thing, and was well worth the wait. Don't be discouraged by the waiting list, it just gives you time to learn more, fall in love, and really understand what it is you want from your pup. We learned about bernedoodles while researching Berners and other sennenhund breeds and fell in love. Then, as luck would have it another dog from that same litter Daisy lives in the town next to us, so we got to meet her and her family, and were just head over heels. After meeting two of Alicia's dogs and the wonderful families they come from we were all-in, especially considering the worry-free nature of the hand delivery Just wait, it's a day you'll never forget, and as a bonus you get to hang out with Alicia for a few hours! Alicia is great at understanding your situation, and pairing you up with the right puppy for you and your life. After submitting the deposit back in early summer of , we waited in anxious anticipation as we climbed the list. A lot changes in a year, and that's why the wait is awesome. But in the year we waited note: we were offered several puppies well before then, but the timing wasn't right , we bought a house and with more room, we came around to the idea of a smaller standard F1 bernedoodle like Indie. We really wanted a pup that had Willow the bernese as a mom, as her other puppies seemed perfect for our lifestyle and this was our chance to get her, and we're so glad we did. The people and families who belong to HFFB are wonderful, and having them as a group is an amazing resource. The support you get from Alicia and her team is beyond expectation. She's been there for us at every turn. Even getting us a little help and consult with potty training stuff which helped immediately. She's so sweet and genuine, and you can tell how much she loves these dogs and the people who make their forever-homes. We're surrounded by dogs here, and I don't know where any of them came from because that's not a thing people seem to talk about. But, everyone here knows that Indie is from HFFB; it's a thing that matters because Alicia and Lexie make it matter by caring and doing the things they do. It's a point of pride to be part of it and know that the dogs and families are all out there sharing their experiences with each other. Alicia not only went out of her way to travel to Tampa to introduce us to our baby, Jude, a Tri-Color Bernedoodle, while I was travelling for work, but she also flew to New Orleans to hand deliver Jude and came to our home with a very thorough packet with any and all information we will need as we raise our baby. We thoroughly enjoyed our time working with Alicia, and I know her and her family as truly loving and trustworthy. Beyond that, she somehow balances an impressive deluge of incoming messages and she is a problem solver who is always able to address complex issues with strategy and confidence. Her knowledge and expertise in breeding and raising Bernedoodles is obviously the hugest advantage of the Highfalutin experience. Jude came with all his shots, he was chipped, and he was trained! Her dogs are clearly doused with love as they grow to be old enough to come home…. Along with her undeniably perfect dogs, Alicia was an absolute joy to work with. Without a doubt, I confidently recommend Highfalutin Furry Babies as the best brand to find a Bernedoodle to join your household. Alicia and her family are so dedicated and knowledgeable — not to mention they are just all-around great people. Although we wanted the process to go quicker, Alicia was always in touch with us and made sure we were matched with the right puppy for our family. Since we welcomed Tito home, the continued support of Alicia and the HFFB family has been amazing for sharing suggestions and experiences. The last two months with Tito have been absolutely awesome. You could tell he had been loved from birth and was exactly the type of puppy we discussed with Alicia…smart, full of energy with a great temperament always wanting to be around people. I cannot tell you how many compliments we get and how often we get stopped to talk about him. Lastly, one cannot underestimate the power of the HFFB network. Alicia worked tirelessly to find a safe home for Geddy B and I am happy to say he is living the life with my aunt and uncle and their big family getting all the attention he deserves. We are lucky to be part of this network and to have a connection with someone who cares as much as Alicia and her family. She instantly bonded with our family and has become an inseparable playmate for our 16 month old Bernedoodle. We highly recommend Highfalutin Furry Babies and will not consider any other breeder for our next Bernedoodle. Sven For a long time, I imagined what my dream dog would be like-beautiful coloring, smart, filled with love for the whole family. He has been a sweetheart since the day he came home and quickly became comfortable with his whole family. He cried for maybe five minutes his first night, and that was it. He was 12 weeks old when Alicia and her two lovely daughters, Emme and Lexie, brought him in their arms all the way from Florida. When we got the call we we're next in line for a puppy I was extatic! Looking at pics from previous litters was enough to make our head spin and hearts pound in anticipation of getting our own dog. Rocket is a Tri-Color Bernedoodle who's so spectacular that not a single person has ever been able to pass without some adoring puppy comment, or kneeling for a quick pet and closer look. His good looks are only dwarfed by his sweet demeanor and curious puppy personality. My four and six year old girls are head over heals for him, almost as much as he is for them. Rocket is fantastic with kids and instantly fit in with our family! HFB is so much more than a breeder, they are purveyors of some of the finest examples of this unique mix you'll find anywhere. Alicia's knowledge of bloodlines, breed genetics, and behavioral characteristics, coupled with her years of experience allow here offer only the best of the best. If you met Rocket, you'd agree. I wish my daughters were delivered with as detailed of an instruction manual as Rocket came with! Our, "Dog Bible" came with so much helpful information that raising our dog to have a long healthy life will be easy. All the previous health check-ups we listed, all prior shots were listed along with serum batch numbers. As if that wasn't enough, Alicia is always available to answer questions. If you're looking for a Bernedoodle, this is the place. Ian Ziering. Use tab to navigate through the menu items. What IS a Bernedoodle? These are NOT mutts which implies a breeding between unknown breeds or not carefully planned. These are designer breeds that are bred for a specific purpose. We produce an incredible bernedoodle that displays the qualities of both our champion line Standard Poodles and the Bernese Mountain Dog pedigrees. The advantage of a carefully planned mixed breed is that you get the added advantage of a phenomenon called "hybrid vigor". This process shuffles new combinations of genes that helps to increase longevity and decrease the usual ailments that impact many purebred dogs such as various forms of inherited types of cancer not all cancers have a genetic basis such as small and large cell lymphoma which is usually a result from environmental exposure. The bernedoodles are super healthy and are not as prone to the same issues that Bernese mountain dogs and standard poodles are. As a result, you have a family member for a lot longer and that will live a vibrant and healthy life if properly cared for diet, exercise, and family integration are all important components toward helping the dog to live a long happy life with you.You can see the links above about the qualities of Standard Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs as both are extraordinary breeds in their own right and for many, purebreds of these may be a great option as well. We prefer the Bernedoodle as they get the best of both breeds, incredibly loyal, goofy, smart, playful, intelligent, and has one of the best dog personalities we have seen in a family dog. The Premier F1 Standard Bernedoodle is a low- to mostly nonshedding we use standard poodles that do not carry the improper coat alleles and Bernese mountain dogs that have thick wavy curly coats. If you want a guarantee on non shedding, then you should try to select an F1b or F1bb bernedoodle. Both look amazingly similar to the F1 standard bernedoodles but maybe a little smaller. We will produce about 2 F1b and F1bb standard bernedoodle litters per year for those wanting a more curly coat in their bernedoodles. Premier Bernedoodles love to be with the family and do not do well in enviroments of isolation. Wherever the family is, that's right where they want to be. They are stunning dogs, and you'll likely get alot of attention and people asking you what kind of dog you have. They are beautiful and along with their incredibly gentle personalities, you will have an absolutely stunning dog. They are a perfect companion dog that love to go on walks through the city or hikes in the woods or mountains or a swim at the beach. They love it all and will be at your side the entire time. They don't tend to wander away as they prefer to be with you. They equally love just hanging out with you on the couch watching your favorite movie or watching you reading a book. They really love it all as long as you're a part of it. They are so loyal to the family. Bernedoodle puppies do have energy like most puppies, and this will continue thru about years of age at which time they really mellow out. They are not nervous nor hyper but will need some off leash time where they can really stretch their legs and run. The old motto "a tired puppy is a good puppy" always prevails! Just make sure they have a lot of fresh water and a cool spot to cool off afterward. Due to the the recombination and shuffling of new genetic variations, they do show some variation in their coloration however they also all have a common morphology that tells you it's a bernedoodle. Although we do take deposits on a first come, first pick basis, we will know the puppies well, their personalities, and can help select a puppy that best fits your lifestyle and what you are looking for. We only use Standard Poodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs to produce our Premier Bernedoodles so that any dog we accept into our Premier Bernedoodle program have passed stringent health tests, display family oriented personalities, and exhibit the best of conformation so that our bernedoodles are absolutely beautiful. Be very cautious when purchasing a purebred or bernedoodle without doing your due diligence as the puppies will always be cute, but will exhibit the personalities of the bloodline used later in life. Therefore, use a reptutable breeder that has invested in the dogs they use for their breeding programs and that raise them as their own family members. They should be able to produce their pedigrees as well, and should have both parents on site so you can see how they react to you. We are very Type A when it comes to the quality of dogs which makes it more difficult to give referrals. We are always going to be biased and believe that the wait for a Premier Bernedoodle is worth it and you'll be very happy you did! Also you can visit your local humane society and help rescue a dog at the shelter. If you have young kids be sure to get a younger dog from the shelter that can adapt to your family. But if you're looking for a unique new family member, a Premier Bernedoodle will be a true delight. Colors and Fur Our Premier Bernedoodles will be traditional tri-color much like a Bernese Mountain Dog , abstract tricolor similar to a traditional tricolor with less white in the face , sable similar to a traditional tri-color but has more reddish-browns due to the poodle genetics we use , phantom, merle, merle tricolor, or bi-colored brown and white, black and white, or shades thereof. Our F1b's will consist of black and whites, traditional tricolors, abstract tricolors, and lots of variable brown and reddish brown and whites. Color never reflects temperament and personality so usually most people don't really care too much what color they are. They are all really beautiful. Although there's variation due to the hybrid vigor present as a result of the recombination of genes in many arrays, there is definitely a bernedoodle appearance that is fairly consistent. If you let the hair grow, they will look like big shaggy dogs that you can't help but to give a big hug to. And they enjoy every minute of it! Our Premier Bernedoodles will tend to have wavy curly coats due to the coat types we require in our bernese mountain dogs which helps to minimize or eliminate shedding. We do make sure that our standard poodles do not carry the genetic marker known as the "Improper Coat" allele or IC for short. Wavy curly coats do require a little more grooming as compared to straight, but many, straight coats shed more.Although they are considered to be large, they don't act like a large dog in the house. They are generally very careful and calm natured as adults however they do have some puppy-fun energy thru the puppyhood stages and thru 3 years of age. They love people and other pets! We do thorough genetic testing of our adults that we use in our breeding program to assure that you are purchasing the healthiest of bernedoodle puppies. Our Bernese mountain dogs come from very long-lived blood lines in Western Europe and these longer lifespans is one of the many reasons we obtain our Berners from several specific populations known for their longevity. Obviously we can't guarantee lifespan as there are many variables outside of our control not to mention, environment, stress, climate, food, etc. But track record seems to show a longer lifespan. What's the Difference? An F1b is an F1 standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle or could be a backcross to a Bernese mountain dog but we generally use the poodle as the backcross. An F1bb is an F1b standard Bernedoodle backcrossed to a standard poodle. Behaviorally they are all very similar with the F1b and F1bb's being slightly smaller than our F1 standards and tend to have slightly curlier coats to a tight wave. If you're looking for a smaller standard Bernedoodle these would be a great option. Pictures are posted below with the other pictures. We continue to get lots of praise from those that have purchased our F1b and F1bb standard bernedoodles. Is the Bernedoodle for Everybody? I would like to think so, but if you do not plan on being with your bernedoodle and keeping it with you, in your home, as part of your home, this is definitely not the dog for you. They thrive on being with the family and not isolated we believe this is the case for all dogs, and especially bernedoodles. Any of our puppies kept in a permanent kennel situation, on a tether, or the like, will violate the terms and conditions of our puppy contract and will have to render the puppy or dog back to Premier Doodles see puppy contract in link above. We definitely support crate training, but these dogs are not meant to live their life in a crate nor kennel! If you want a pet that prefers to be in isolation, you may want to consider a nonsocial pet perhaps a Betta fish! Yes we have done a lot of the hard work the first 8 weeks as we do extensive early neurological stimulation bio-sensor and Puppy Culture program, along with starting crate training and housebreaking, BUT, they are puppies and will need your undivided attention for the next weeks as they work towards being completely housebroken and earning more privileges. They have been communicating with their siblings for the past 8 weeks using their mouth. During their normal daily interactions, you will occasionally hear a loud "yelp" in response to one biting another too hard. This yelp usually ends the mouthing behavior. Now puppies have fur and people generally do not. When you bring your bernedoodle home, they will likely display some degree of mouthing behavior toward their human family. This will usually stop this behavior. We then redirect their desire to mouth to something more appropriate like a chew toy and after a few seconds of cooperating we praise them. The good news.We have a Puppy Guide under our tab "Puppy Central" on how to unpack this process so that you can have success. If you put them time in early, they will have this knocked out in a few days. The rule of thumb is to get them outside ALOT.Be sure to purchase two Midwest XL crates can get from our Puppy Store , one for the back door and one next to your bed. The power of meiosis specialized cell division event that occurs in the reproductive organs, ovaries for females and testes for males and crossing over assures that each offspring will be diverse and different and this difference will be noticeable in color and a little bit in behavior. All will be superior, but some will be more playful and others less so, some will mouth more than others, etc. Available Puppies.Check out our "Available Puppies" tab at the top to find out how to get onto our Master List for a future puppy! Life Span Did You Know? They tend to be affectionate and loving dogs that make great family pets. They are even known to make great therapy dogs! Although they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are recognized by other canine registries. One of the facts about Bernedoodles is that they are true companion dogs. They are cuddly companions that love nothing more than being with their favorite humans. As long as they are well-socialized and trained, Mini Bernedoodles tend to get along well with children, other dogs, other pets, and even strangers. Miniature Bernedoodles are highly adaptable dogs. They do well in larger homes as well as apartments. They are sensitive to heat and extreme cold, but do well in most climates. Because they bond so closely with their families and thrive on attention, they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time and can develop separation anxiety if you do not work with them early on. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. You can ask about the health and genetic history of the parents and about any health tests or clearances that have been done. Mini Bernedoodles are intelligent dogs that pick up on things quickly and are eager to please. This makes them a highly trainable dog that is a good fit for owners of all experience levels. They can become stubborn if training is not consistent or clear. Although their coat tends to be low-shedding and will range from straight to wavy or curly, the Mini Bernedoodle coat requires some maintenance. Daily brushing is recommended to remove tangles and prevent mats. Professional grooming is recommended every weeks. Nail trims once or twice monthly keep them from growing too long and causing issues. Ear checks on a weekly basis with careful cleanings as needed help to prevent ear infections. As a small dog breed, Mini Bernedoodles are more prone to developing gum disease. Good dental care for dogs early and consistently throughout their life can help prevent painful dental diseases later in life. Daily tooth brushing, plus cleanings at the vet as needed, is ideal. Although Mini Bernedoodles will be playful and have bursts of energy while playing, they are not high-energy dogs. They tend to sit in a more moderate range. Daily walks plus some playtime throughout the day are usually enough for them. But, they love spending time with you and will likely be up for more activity if you are. They may be smaller dogs, but they also tend to be relatively athletic. When puppies finish growing , you can try higher-impact activities like running, hiking, training for dog sports, and more. Fully-grown Mini Bernedoodles usually stand inches tall. They can range from pounds. F1B and F2 Mini Bernedoodles usually weigh pounds and are on the shorter side of the range. Mini Bernedoodles generally live for years on average. Featured Mini Bernedoodle Article.

Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Gentle, affectionate, snuggly -Can Live with Kids: Unknown history, but seems like she'd be okay with respectful, dog-savvy kids. Be sure to think longterm about your living arrangements and check for any breed restrictions. Marigold loves a good snack and is very gentle taking treats. She already knows "sit" and would love to add more tricks to her repertoire! Marigold originally came to the shelter as a stray so we knew very little about her history. She was recently adopted and returned for reactivity on leash, so adopters will need to be willing and prepared to help her work through this reactivity in her new home. She may do best in less heavily populated areas to help manage this while working on training. Will need slow, supervised intro to ensure everyone gets along. This sensitive lady was surrendered to the shelter after her owner was no longer able to care for her. A little stressed in this environment, once you get her out of the noisy kennels she calms right down and leans into your legs for pets. She'd love a home where she can lounge around in the porch in the sunshine with her favorite people! At 93 lbs, this is no pocket-sized pup and she can be a bit of a puller on leash when especially excited about something, but is attentive, food motivated, and should be able to brush up on her leash walking skills in no time. Molly May is going to make an awesome lifelong cuddle buddy for the right person! If that sounds like it could be you, submit an application to see if it's a match! May do okay with a confident cat after a slow, supervised intro. She was surrendered to the shelter after being too much work for her family who also had six kids. Nunu is super eager for companionship and isn't always the best at asking for it- she tends to jump up when wanting attention but is working really hard at polite greetings and keeping all 4 paws on the floor! Nunu is very food motivated and enjoys working for her meals in Kongs and other puzzle feeder toys. This helps keep her mind occupied and engaged, and also keeps her busy for a bit if you have to get some work done or step out of the house for a bit. Nunu is still very young and has tons of potential to grow into a wonderful lifelong companion for the right family. If that sounds like it could be you, submit an application to schedule an introduction! View full description » Young, Female, Large.
Contact Us Welcome First and most importantly, each of our English Golden Retrievers are an integral part of our family. They live in our home, sleep in our beds and are treated like Royalty. According to the dictionary, to treat with royalty means: treating someone or something extravagantly or with elaborate attention and care. It is our pleasure to introduce you to our family, our passion and our dogs. Because our dogs are part of our family, we often take them with us as much as we can. They enjoy playing with the kids, going to cross-country meets and ball games, hiking trails at the park, participating with the kids in 4-H at the local fair, going on walks, riding in the car and a few have been or are currently therapy dogs at the local school. Our goal is to be as loyal, loving and nurturing to our dogs as they are to us because they bless us everyday in so many ways. Second, for one of our dogs to be chosen to breed they must be genetically sound, have a pedigree with healthy lines and have a wonderful temperament. In order to produce the healthiest puppies, each of our adult English goldens go through the OFA certification process for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart. A few of our dogs have been certified through PennHIP evaluations as well. We also do genetic testing so we can avoid certain conditions such as ichthyosis that could be genetically passed down from parents to their offspring Puppies are Our Passion Puppies are our passion. One of our biggest rewards in raising puppies is the frequent smell of puppy breath and getting to know their furever families. We ensure our litters of puppies are treated like royalty just as our adult dogs. They are nurtured, given an endless amount of affection and spoiled with love. Because they are raised in our home, they are exposed to the sights, sounds, and smells of a busy household. We provide neurological stimulation and introduce them to a variety of toys, textures, surroundings and people. We find that acclimating puppies at a young age helps them develop into well-adjusted, confident, calm and loving family companions. We love the priceless contributions puppies have made to our family and want you to enjoy the same memorable lifelong experiences with your new dog. Our puppies come with dew claws removed, wormed, have their first vaccinations, are micro-chipped, vet checked and limited AKC registration papers. If you are interested in a puppy, we recommend submitting an application right away to get put on our waiting list. Brandy was our first American female, and our three kids best friend. She had a great disposition, was kind hearted and gentle with kids. After her passing we took a day trip to watch a local dog show and we fell in love with two english cream goldens that were training for therapy work. They were show stoppers! Their dark round eyes stood out against their beautiful cream-colored wavy coat and we fell in love immediately. Rudy was our first male and was everything we dreamed of. He came from a champion pedigree, had great conformation, a calm loving disposition and a desire to please which helped him earn his therapy license. At age two, Rudy joined me as the therapy dog in my 5th-6th science classroom and a year later in my kindergarten classroom. In we purchased our first female, Emma, who is full of love and a perfect dog mom. She is a puppy at heart, loves to talk to anyone who comes into our home and has mothered puppies other than her own, kittens and guinea pigs. At age 13 and 14 they are both very healthy and enjoy retired life. Rudy enjoys going on walks and getting spoiled by Grandma Cathy and Aunt Mary. Emma thrives on attention and helping new litters of puppies learn how to play. Rudy and Emma have been the perfect foundation of our breeding program and continue to be an important part of our family. TOP "We love Luna and she's been great!!! She has definitely gotten comfortable and driving our other dogs crazy, LOL! We adore her! She has the greatest temperament!!! She's perfect! We cannot thank you enough! Just wanted to send a few pictures of Macky! He's growing like a weed! We joke that all he knows how to do is eat and snuggle. Obsessed with him! He is an exceptional puppy with a sweetness and sensibility that everyone comments on who meets him. We couldn't be happier with this sweet boy. He was the missing piece to our home. We are considering getting another puppy from you. Whatever you are doing, as breeders, is 'kosher' as far as we are concerned, and I trust you and your opinions. Again, I cannot say thank you enough for our wonderful Royal, and all the work you did in his first weeks, to encourage him to be the best he could be. I want to thank your children for their input also. He practically gets hypnotized when we roll him onto his back and rub him all over his belly, paws, and tail, and he absolutely loves when little kids come over to play. You can tell he had a very good experience with your kids, and passes that love on to other kids. Thanks again, Katie! A huge lover and snuggler. We can't get enough of how sweet she is! She is doing so well! She just graduated from the beginner's obedience training this past week! Breeders VS. The sad truth is that many pet store purchased pups actually come from puppy mills. Basically, there is zero authenticity with pet stores. When it comes to adopting any animal from a pet store, there is an increased risk of unforeseen health or genetic problems. You also cultivate a life-long relationship with the breeder, meaning support is available to you anytime you may need it. With My Golden Retriever Puppies , you have the option to come and visit both the puppy and the breeder in person! Golden Retrievers are an adaptable breed, meaning they are better at adapting to seasonal changes and various types of climate than certain other breeds. Goldens sport a double-coat, which ensures that these sweet pups are able to tolerate slightly colder temperatures than their friends from other breeds. Your pup deserves better than that, which is why here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we ensure high-quality care is taken of your pet at all times. We even have all types of golden retrievers for sale! At My Golden Retriever Puppies, we pride ourselves on our golden retriever price being fair and affordable for high quality puppies. Here at My Golden Retriever Puppies , we value family and authenticity, which is why we always guarantee our pups through our 2-year genetic health guarantee. They are intelligent, easy to train, affectionate, and form strong bonds with their owners. They do so for two reasons: They inherit a strong protective instinct from German Shepherds. They inherit a strong hunting instinct from Jack Russells. German Shepherds have been used as herding dogs. They had to protect sheep from predators [1]. This enhanced their territorial behavior. German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes bark loudly. They inherit this trait from both parent breeds, making them great at signaling danger. German Shepherds are the 3rd most intelligent breed when it comes to obedience and working intelligence [2]. The Jack Russell Terrier ranked 46th. Even if they are not among the best-ranked breeds, they still have above-average intelligence. As a result, Shepherd Jack Russells easily understand what humans want them to do. This makes them easy to train. While German shepherds are highly trainable, Jack Russells can become stubborn and are easily distracted. Still, the mixes are easy to train, especially if you are patient. Related: Are Jack Russells Smart? A velcro dog likes to spend their time as close to its owners as possible. Still, they are highly affectionate and loving towards their family members when they are together. As a result, a Shepherd Jack Russell has a dense undercoat, covered by a short or medium outer coat. German Shepherd Jack Russell mix dogs shed both their undercoats and outercoats. They grow from the same hair follicle. This means when the hair follicles end their cycle, all old hairs growing from them fall out. Shepherd Jack Russells shed most during spring and autumn. This is when they need daily brushing if you want your home hair-free. Related: Do Jack Russells Shed? If their needs are not met, they become hyperactive. Consider the following when Shepherd Jack Russells have a hard time settling down: The dog can be understimulated. They are hyperactive because of their breed drive. They are not suited for busy or sedentary people. Jack Russell Terriers have learned to bark a lot and loudly as they use barking to signal dangers they perceive in their environment. German Shepherds bark to communicate with other animals and humans. German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes are also loud. This crossbreed is most often the result of accidental mating. The year and place where this first happened are unknown. German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes are not designer dogs. Designer dogs are the result of the intentional breeding of two different breeds, while this mix is often the result of accidents. There are breeders who do this with Jack Russells and German Shepherd but it is not recommended. The difference in size between the breeds can lead to several health issues for the mother. The breeders that do intentionally breed this mix use female German Shepherds and male Jack Russells. This is done for the safety of the dogs. The purpose of the breed was to hunt foxes. This color was desired as hunters had to differentiate the dogs from their prey. Jack Russell Terriers are currently bred for companionship and vermin control. They have been recognized as a separate breed since by the British Kennel Club. The breed is included in the Parson Russell Terrier category. In the s, the need for a sheep herd dog led breeders to crossbreed several traditional herding dogs from Germany. This crossbreeding process resulted in the German Shepherd. It has since become one of the most popular dogs in the United States. In , German Shepherds were the 4th most popular breed in America. They are usually black and brown or black and red. They can have markings and white patches, depending on the genes they inherit. These dogs have short or medium-length coats with thick undercoats. Jack Russells are between 10 and 15 inches tall and German Shepherds are between 22 and 26 inches tall. The outcome is a mix that ranges between 10 and 26 inches in height. They can weigh between 14 and 90 pounds. These measurements are general guidelines. As crossbreeds inherit traits from both parents, their weigh and height ranges are high. Considering the high difference in size, German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes fall somewhere in the middle. They are double-coated, and their undercoats are dense and smooth. The outer coats of Shepherd Jack Russells are smooth or wired. Although German Shepherds can have long coats, there are zero chances for a German Shepherd Jack Russell mix to be long-coated. The gene for long hair in dogs is recessive, meaning both parents have to pass on the gene for the puppy to have long hair. Jack Russells do not have this gene. The color of the parents indicate the color of their puppies. The essential aspect one needs to consider is that Jack Russells are not primarily white. The primary color of a Jack Russell is usually a combination of black, brown, and tan. The majority of German Shepherds are black and brown, or black and red. By combining these two breeds, puppies are most likely to inherit the following colors: Black Brown Red German Shepherd Jack Russells can be bi or tri-colored if they inherit the gene that gives white patches from Jack Russells On rare occasions, Shepherd Jack Russells are pure white. This happens only if the German Shepherd parent is pure white. Melanistic Mask Shepherd Jack Russell mix dogs can have dark face masks called melanistic masks [4]. These masks require both parents to pass on the gene for this specific color pattern. Both Jack Russells and German Shepherds can carry the gene. They are affectionate with their family members and love spending time with them. The results showed that the evolution depends on the purpose a dog breed has. Dogs bred for various purposes pass on the traits necessary to perform their tasks well. In other words, this mix has traits suited for hunting and herding, making them protective, territorial, and wary of strangers. In time, their purpose changed to vermin control. This mixed breed inherits the following hunting temperament traits from Jack Russells: They are obedient. They quickly understand what humans want from them. They are eager to please. They are intelligent. Herding dogs are not used as work tools, but rather as intermediaries. They are believed to possess a deeper understanding of the animals they herd [6]. This is why the relationship between humans and herding dogs is more like a collaboration. This mixed breed inherits the following herding temperament traits from German Shepherds: They are loyal. They work well with humans. They are protective. German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes have a predisposition for aggressive behavior. Aggressive behavior in dogs has a genetic component. A study [7] conducted on 23 dog breeds places Jack Russells 17th in terms of aggression. The German Shepherd is the 4th most aggressive dog breed in this study. This means that Shepherd Jack Russells are most likely to display aggressive behavior. The discussion around aggressive behavior leads to biting behavior. German Shepherds are popular dogs, which influences the relevance of this analysis. Aggressive behavior can be prevented and controlled. You can achieve this by engaging your dog in regular physical exercise and feeding it a proper diet. Early socialization and training also help. Their average lifespan is between 12 to 16 years. Still, these dogs are prone to several health issues, especially as seniors. To keep them healthy, make sure they get enough exercise and mental stimulation. Good nutrition is also an essential factor to consider. Conclusion German Shepherd Jack Russells are loyal and smart. They are loving companions and make great watchdogs. If they are trained and socialized in puppyhood, these dogs are less likely to display behavior issues. Still, they inherit the genes for aggression. Shepherd Jack Russells are great for active families because they require a lot of physical exercise. Other Jack Russell Mix Breeds. Black, black and tan, liver, blue, sable, bi-colored Suitable for: Singles and families, homes with yards, active owners Temperament: Smart, loyal, active, playful, protective Understanding this playful mixed breed means learning about both the German Shepherd and the Jack Russell Terrier, as their offspring will likely take on traits from both breeds. We break down everything that you need to know about both parent breeds and ultimately, this interesting mixed breed dog. Dogs that are harder to train will require a bit more patience and practice. Proper exercise, nutrition, and hygiene also play an important role in the lifespan of your pet. More social dogs have a tendency to run up to strangers for pets and scratches, while less social dogs shy away and are more cautious, even potentially aggressive. They grow quickly due to their German Shepherd genes, but they typically do not get nearly as big as a purebred German Shepherd does. Some are thin and wiry, and others are thick and smooth-coated. It all depends on the traits that a Jack Russell Terrier German Shepherd mix inherits from their parents. When you bring a Jack Russel Terrier German Shepherd into your home, you can expect to have a loyal and protective dog by your side. They love to learn, which makes them relatively easy to train, but training should start during puppyhood. These dogs are playful like their Jack Russell parents yet protective like their German Shepherd parents. They are loyal to their human companions, both children and adults, and will stand guard over them whenever a threat is perceived. These designer dogs are sociable and enjoy playing with kids in the yard whenever the opportunity arises. They can also settle down and cuddle when spending time indoors with family members. When it comes to interacting with others, these dogs are typically welcoming both at home and in outdoor social situations. Are These Dogs Good for Families? This mixed breed can get along with other dogs that do not live within their household if they start socializing with them from a young age. A Jack Russell Terrier German Shepherd mix should start meeting other dogs from the time that they are just a few weeks old, to ensure that they do not become skittish or aggressive while around other pooches later in life. These dogs may or may not get along with cats and other animals that live inside their household. Early introductions, training, and supervision can all increase the chance that your mixed pooch will get along with other smaller pets. You should also know what to expect when it comes to training and grooming. There are also health conditions that these dogs are susceptible to. Commercial dog food that contains animal protein as the first ingredient and does not include any fillers, like corn and soy, or artificial ingredients is the best option. Fresh vegetables, such as grated carrots and chunks of boiled sweet potato, can be offered as supplemental snacks occasionally. Fresh water should always be available. When in doubt about what to feed your pooch, consult with your veterinarian to get a customized diet plan to follow. They should go on walks daily and have an opportunity to play in a fenced yard or run around in a public dog park. Time playing hide-and-seek or training indoors when the weather is bad will get these dogs through the day without becoming too bored or destructive. Since they are smart and eager to please, these dogs typically take well to training and can learn to come, sit, and stay quickly. They also take well to obedience and guard training, although professional training may be required to get them started. These dogs do not typically get knots or mats, but bathing might be necessary after a day outside. They should get enough outdoor exercise to keep their nails naturally trimmed, but if the nails become long and sharp, trimming should take place. Dental chews can help keep the teeth and gums healthy as time goes on. Minor Conditions. Hypoallergenic No History The terrier is a hard-working English dog. It was named after John Russell, an avid hunter who crossbred different strains in order to create the perfect hound for chasing the game and flushing it out from cover or rather biting its foot without killing it! The shorter variety remains Jack Appearance German Shepherd Jack Russell mixes are a playful, loyal and protective breed that has the appearance of one or both parent breeds. They also have an intelligent temperament making them easy to train as well! They seem to do very well with children as well as other animals! They need to brush them three times per week in the spring and fall months with regular vacuuming for allergies! German Shepherds bark to communicate with other animals and humans, but they can also be very loud. To make sure your pet has enough energy, serve them meals packed with vitamins and minerals as well! Give your pet 1. Make sure the kibble contains essential minerals like salt or vitamins so that their bodies stay strong with all this hard work they do for us every day and night. One thing I always recommend when buying topical products such as lotions is also including calcium supplementation because our skin becomes less effective over time without these nutrients helping repair damage from outside elements such as weather factors. Health Problems Hip and elbow dysplasia is a condition that affects the German Shepherd, and Jack Russell terrier breeds. Your pup needs to be healthy and happy. The cost of a Jack Russell German Shepherd hybrid puppy can vary depending on many factors. For example, you may pay more to buy one from an established breeder who has been breeding these dogs for years rather than purchasing your pup at Petco or Walmart! You may want to take a look at the breeder before buying your new furry friend. Wrapping Jack Russell Terrier German Shepherd mixes are one of a kind, high energy dogs that need plenty of attention and love to thrive. These hybrids have the protective instincts typical in GSDs but also boast playfulness as terriers do! Post navigation. However, a mix could be on the larger size if it takes more after its GSD parent and more on the smaller size if it takes more after the Jack Russell parent. They also can have a rough or broken coat too. German Shepherds have a double coat of medium to long length ranging in colors from black and tan, all black , sable, liver, blue , and bi-colored. A mix between the breeds can create either the shorter coat of the Jack Russel or a medium-length coat more similar to the German Shepherds. The coloring of the coat will depend on whether the pup takes more after their GSD parent or their Jack Russel parent. A German Shepherd Jack Russell mix will need to be brushed once a week. They may need to be brushed more frequently like two or three times a week in the spring and fall during shedding season. Baths can be given every weeks, nails should be clipped about once a month, and their teeth should be brushed regularly. Bite Force German Shepherds have a strong bite force at around psi. A mix of these two breeds will likely lead to a dog with a bite force in the mid to upper s, but some of this depends on whether the pup takes more after their GSD parent or their Jack Russell parent. German Shepherd typically run about 32 miles per hour, and a Jack Russell runs at a speed of about 30 miles per hour. Thus, you can expect a Jack Russell German Shepherd mix to run between miles per hour. Expect them to need a minimum of one hour of physical activity each day, as well as some time for mental stimulation. Since both breeds are smart a Jack Russell GSD mix will thrive in households that focus on training and provide opportunities for them to mind. Temperament The German Shepherd Jack Russell mix can be an excellent family dog and can also be good with other dogs , and even cats given the proper socialization. This dog will be energetic with a spunky personality, friendly , love to play, courageous, loyal, vocal, have the drive to work, and loving and affectionate. Both German Shepherds and Jack Russell are vocal dog breeds so expect a cross between the two to produce a dog that likes to bark , whine , groan and maybe even howl from time to time. This is typically caused because of excess gas or too much food or fluids. Additionally, they are also prone to hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia. Jack Russell Terriers are known to have eye issues such as dislocation of their eye lens. Basically, the lens becomes unattached from the ligaments that hold them in place. Additionally, they are also prone to tracheal collapse and pancreatitis. Although some of these conditions sound scary, all dog breeds are prone to some health issues. Being aware of the potential issues with both breeds of a mixed pup will help you know what to look out for during their lifetime. This lifespan is based upon the life expectancy of both breeds. Accordingly, a mix between the two is usually either the result of accidental mating or artificial insemination by a breeder that intentionally wants to create this mix. Final Thoughts A German Shepherd Jack Russell mix is a great dog to add to your family, but they may be difficult to find as there are not many breeders who actively cross these two breeds. You can also see how the Doberman , Dutch Shepherd , Husky and Australian Shepherd compare to the German Shepherd if you are considering other breeds altogether. The size of the dog is not predictable even if the same dogs are bred together more than once. The results of this cross have been producing dogs that have a great instinct to protect their loved ones. This is a mix that loves to walk on streets and in yards and gardens. They seem to do very well with children as well as other animals. As with any dog, purebred or mixed breed, there are certain qualities you want to look for to make it the ideal family pet. They possess strengths and weaknesses that can be compensated for or modified. Dog trainer, Sarah Wilson, suggests certain qualities should be intact from the beginning that will make a dog a more personable and pleasant pet. Your dog should love people When you meet a new puppy or dog that adores everyone, wags its tail nonstop, and approaches people of all sizes and ages, this is not just a result of socialization. Those types of dogs do not need to be purebred and come in every size, color, and mix. A dog that is not able to self-soothe will bark at noises and then continue to bark until you make him stop. This can be miserable. You want a dog who will eagerly greet guests, but then be willing to go lie down. A dog who can self-calm may cry the first few times when crated, but will eventually fall asleep and be able to fall into a comfortable routine. This is a good sign of a dog who can self-soothe. Choose a dog who is life-resilient This a term used by experts who train Seeing-Eye Dogs. It is a temperament test. Puppies are exposed to something new three times. The test is to see if the puppies are calmer or get more startled with each repetition. A good dog will tolerate other dogs The ideal dog does not have to love every dog he meets, but he should not be aggressive toward others. While training can alleviate or make the aggressiveness less, it is not easy and it is very time-consuming. Sarah understands that finding a dog with these qualities is a gift. Success has been had with mixing Shepherds with Terriers and producing a mid-sized dog that is not only personable but quite athletic. The Daily Puppy has a YouTube video that will melt your heart and make you want to own one of these unique mixes. Be aware that the potential exists for a puppy to strongly favor either breed or its characteristics. German Shepherd The Shepherd personality is very active. They are very intelligent and are easy to train and have strong guarding instincts. They do require a lot of exercise or they may become hyperactive. Physical attributes: Weight: between 75 and 95 pounds Height: 23 to 25 inches Naturally upright ears Longevity: 10 to 12 years Exercise needed: 40 minutes a day Desire to bark: low Desire to dig: moderate German Shepherds were bred for herding animals and as guard dogs. They have a medium-length double coat and they shed heavily twice a year, and minimally on a continuous basis. They come in most colors and require moderate grooming. You can expect German Shepherds to be large, powerful dogs with a strong guarding instinct. They need to be socialized at an early age and obedience trained to help channel their intelligence and instincts in a positive direction. Shepherds should be integrated with family members and exposed to pets and people around the neighborhood while under supervision. They do not have a good personality for being confined to a backyard or kennel with other dogs or alone. Jack Russell Terrier Jack Russell has a strong personality and is not a breed for everyone. Jack Russells are extremely energetic and require lots of exercise. They tend to be very vocal because of their instincts as hunters. They love to explore and have a tendency to bolt and wander. Physical attributes: Weight: between 13 and 17 pounds Height: 13 to 14 inches Energy level: Extremely energetic Longevity: 13 to 15 years Exercise needed: 40 minutes a day Desire to bark: high Desire to dig: moderate Jack Russells were bred for fox hunting. They have short, double coats, with white, black, and tan markings. Their need for grooming is low but they have three different coat types. All three coats smooth, rough, and straight long hair do shed. This breed is compact and muscular. They are very happy and energetic dogs that love to work. The dogs that have a job to do are the happiest. They do love to dig, especially if they pick up the scent of a rodent. Hunting ground animals are in their breeding and un-training this instinct is nearly impossible. Because they are hunting dogs, Jack Russells will be vocal. They make great watchdogs as they are always alert. They are not the best dogs for young children because they are assertive. They tend to be aggressive when they meet other dogs. Since this breed needs lots of exercises, a home with a very large fenced-in yard is the best environment for this dog. They can get along with other family pets if they are introduced to them as puppies. These dogs will be the happiest when going for a long hike or playing fetch. They are not good dogs for those who like to stay indoors and spend the day on the couch. The puppy was a result of an accidental breeding between a Jack Russell and a German Shepherd living in the same household. Five puppies were born. The owners of the puppy said he had a very sweet nature and was a quick learner. Yahoo forum answers what you can expect from this breed, from an owner of this mix. Lets dive into those details now. Compact but full of life, Jack Russells have an unmistakable spirit. Developed in the late 19th century by Max von Stephanitz, this breed is celebrated for its intelligence, bravery, and versatility. German Shepherds are known to be large, powerful dogs with a keen instinct to work. These two parent breeds bring together a rich history and a set of distinct traits that make the Jack-Shepherd a truly unique canine companion. However, what we are here to cover is what you can expect from the two dog breeds when they are bred as a mix. As a mixed breed, the size of the Jack-Shepherd can vary significantly. However, typically, they could weigh anywhere between 25 to 80 pounds, with a height that ranges from 15 to 24 inches. Coats and Grooming The coat of the Jack-Shepherd can be as diverse as its parent breeds. Grooming needs for this mixed breed will depend largely on which parent they take after. On the other hand, if they lean more towards the Jack Russell, their grooming needs might be less demanding, requiring only occasional brushing. However, regular ear checks and nail trims will be essential for all Jack-Shepherds. Remember, each Jack-Shepherd is unique, and their appearance can vary greatly. This diversity is part of what makes mixed breeds so incredibly special and appealing. Behavior and Temperament The Jack-Shepherd is a vibrant mix of energy and intelligence. They may inherit the tireless energy of the Jack Russell Terrier and the diligence of the German Shepherd. This breed mix is usually highly active, eager to work, and loves engaging in physical activities. As someone who owns and raises a Jack Russell Terrier I can tell you that you can either have a dog that is going to test you daily and be a tough dog to raise or one of the best dogs you can choose to adopt. All of this will hinge on your training routines and your ability to remain patient with the dog during the early stages. This is when a dog breed such as the Jack-Shepherd can be molded into a loyal, well-behaved and highly intelligent dog to adopt. This is one of the key areas of focus I made sure to emphasize heavily early on with my Jack Russell Terrier and it made a huge difference. The more the better. Early socialization with various people, sights, sounds, and experiences can help them grow into well-rounded dogs. Encourage positive interactions with other animals and humans from a young age. Regular walks, trips to the dog park, or enrolling them in puppy classes can provide excellent socialization opportunities. Without socialization you run the risk of more anxiety in certain situations arising later that can be difficult to overcome for you and the dog. However, they might inherit a stubborn streak from the Jack Russell side, which could make training challenging at times. Consistent, positive reinforcement methods work best with this breed. Remember to be patient, keep training sessions short and fun, and always reward good behavior. Agility training could also be an excellent outlet for their high energy levels. Given the right socialization and training, the Jack-Shepherd can make a loyal, intelligent, and dynamic pet. Part of being capable of providing the proper care is understanding what it takes to keep this dog happy from a physical standpoint, a mental standpoint and being aware of basic health concerns. Lets cover some of those basics now. Exercise Needs As a high-energy breed mix, the Jack-Shepherd requires plenty of exercise to keep them happy and healthy. Ideally, they should get at least 1 to 2 hours of physical activity daily. This could be a combination of walks, playtime, and mental stimulation exercises like puzzle toys. A well-exercised Jack-Shepherd is less likely to develop behavioral problems and is generally more content. If I could hammer home any one area of focus from this discussion, it would be to absolutely ensure you have the time or ability to provide a dog such as the Jack-Shepherd plenty of exercise. Health Concerns While the Jack-Shepherd can be generally healthy, they may be prone to certain health conditions inherited from their parent breeds. These could include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in many larger breeds like the German Shepherd, or deafness and eye conditions, which can sometimes be seen in Jack Russell Terriers. Regular veterinary check-ups and a balanced diet can help maintain their overall health and catch any potential issues early. The key to a healthy Jack-Shepherd is consistent care and a good understanding of their needs. This mix breed, with their energy and intelligence, will certainly keep their owners on their toes! Adoption and Cost Adopting a Jack-Shepherd can be a thrilling journey. Look for breeders who conduct health checks on their breeding dogs and who raise their pups in a clean, nurturing environment. Always ask to see the parents and where the puppies are kept. Good breeders will be more than happy to answer any questions you have and provide proof of health clearances. Be sure to consider all the financial aspects and responsibilities involved before you decide to adopt. With their energetic nature and love for playtime, they can be a hit with children. However, due to their high energy levels and potential size, supervision with younger children is always a good idea to ensure safe play for both the child and the dog. Remember, the Jack-Shepherd, like any dog, requires commitment, love, and care to thrive as a family pet. With the right training, socialization, and understanding, they can make an entertaining, loyal, and loving member of your family. They bring together the best of both worlds — the bravery and diligence of the German Shepherd, and the fearless and lively spirit of the Jack Russell Terrier. The Jack-Shepherd inherits fascinating physical traits from both parent breeds, creating a delightful mix that is truly unique to each dog. Their behavior and temperament can be a lively mix of both parents, resulting in a brave, alert, and energetic companion. Proper care, including adequate exercise and regular health check-ups, are essential to ensure a happy and healthy Jack-Shepherd. Adoption requires not just a financial commitment but also an understanding of the responsibilities of pet ownership. Luna and I wish you the best of luck if you do intend to adopt a Jack-Shepherd in the near future. Josh founded TerrierOwner. Recent Posts.

What is an "original" Australian Labradoodle? The Australian Labradoodle is different from all other labradoodles. Dogs from this cross typically were bred to each other over future generations, whereby the Australian dogs are also know as "Multi-generational" Labradoodles. The resulting labradoodles subsequently have been bred to each other, continuing the multi-generational tradition. Even when the other types of Labradoodles are bred on for generations, the result is not an Australian Labradoodle, as the attributes of the infused breeds were not included in their ancestry. The Australian Labradoodle Club of America was founded exclusively to foster and protect the original Australian Labradoodles that have come directly from Tegan Park and Rutland Manor breeding stock, or their offspring. Our mission is to maintain and improve the quality and soundness of the Australian Labradoodles, and to carefully monitor the further development of the breed. All member breeders are carefully screened to help ensure the future of the Australian Labradoodle. Our member breeders must breed to the highest standards. We have Breeder Mentors to assist member breeders and to help new breeders get off to a good start. If someone in your family has allergies, a multi-generation Australian Labradoodle from Red Desert Doodles should be your first choice. We are committed to breeding authentic, multigenerational Australian Labradoodles with bloodlines originating from the two breeding research centers in Australia, Rutland Manor and Teagan Park. Multigen Australian Labradoodles are consistently non-shedding, allergy and asthma friendly, loving, calm, intuitive and at times quite comical. All of these qualities make them wonderful family companions as well as excellent therapy and service dogs. Raising puppies is a lot of fun but it is also a lot of work!! As a breeder, it is our responsibility to make the most of our puppy's critical growth periods and introduce them to as many new sights, sounds, smells and situations as possible. At birth, days 3 to 16 with Bio Sensor Stimulation, and right through to the day you take your new fur baby home we are handling and socializing our puppies. Ultimately, it is our goal is to provide you with a healthy, well socialized, intelligent, lovable, easily trained doodle that will be a joyful addition to your family for many years to come. Not all doodles are created equally and it's important to know the differences in types of Labradoodles: Types of Labradoodles F1 -1st generation cross between the Labrador and the Standard Poodle. F1 are most likley to shed because half of it's genes come from a Lab. F1b- is a backcross 1st generation Labradoodle. Since the F1 dogs do shed and can have a wiry type coat, the poodle is bred back to the F1 Labradoodle to correct the coat type. F2- is a 2nd generation Labradoodle. F1 x F1 just bred one more generation. These puppies also shed just like the F1. The F2 generation is the most varied generation and pups will have a variety of looks and coat types. Multigenerational Labradoodles or Multi-gen - When a Labradoodle is 3 or more generations into the breed they are considered Multigeneration Labradoodles. Almost all are non-shedding and are great for families with allergies. As the breed continued to develop other breeders in Australia such as Tegan Park and Rutland Manor began to infuse breeds into the Australian Labradoodle to improve upon consistency in health, temperament, structure and coat type. These infusions proved successful and also created uniformity to create a breed standard. This distinctive look is unique to the multi-gen Australian Labradoodle. Luxe Breeds Multi-gen Austrailian Labradoodles Luxe Labradoodle breeds mulitgen Australian Labradoodles because we believe in this distinctive line of labradoodles! At Blue Star Labradoodles, we only sell Multi-Generation Australian Labradoodle puppies because the Multi-Generation Labradoodles are allergy-friendly, non-shedding and have the most reliable temperament, coats and health. It is important when you are researching your Labradoodle puppy that you understand the difference between Multi-Generation puppies and puppies that are the result of a first or second cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle F1 or F1B. There is just not enough Poodle in the dog typically to make them non-shedding and dander free. If you have owned, or been around, a Lab, you know that they shed. However, you should see a noticeable reduction in the shedding with an F1 and they usually have a great temperament if the parents are of the same quality. They are consistently non-shedding, have a fleece hair coat, are very close to dander free and have that great Labradoodle temperament if the parents are of the same quality. These puppies are the most likely to be non-shedding and allergy friendly. However, it has been suggested that you must get to the 5th generation before you can be confident of the non-shedding and non-allergenic benefits. Their adorable curly fur and expressive faces make you want to cuddle them — and these little guys love nothing more than a good squish. All this and more makes our labradoodle puppies for sale one the most in-demand in our center. Activity-loving families adore these dogs for their propensity towards sports, and anyone who prefers low-shedding pooch benefits from their wooly or fleecy fur. Labradoodle puppies for sale are so cute and come in such a wide range of colors that it makes choosing your new best friend super-hard! While spearheading the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia breeding program, he conducted the crossbreeding of a standard poodle and Labrador retriever in view of it being a hypoallergenic guide dog for blind people. The first example of this type of dog, called Sultan, went to live with a lady in Hawaii, where other breeders saw him as an inspiration and this is how Australian Labradoodle puppies started. Both the International Australian Labradoodles Association and the Australian Labradoodles Association of America are working hard to incorporate more intergenerational breeding so these dog breeders can register this type of dog as a purebred dog. Its gentle, obedient and intelligent personality combined with a hypoallergenic coat make it ideal for family members with allergies, but it also makes an excellent service or therapy dog. Labradoodle Puppies Lifespan When properly taken care of, healthy dogs tend to live anywhere from 10 to 13 years. The lifespan of our Labradoodle puppies for sale is slightly above average at 12 to 14 years. Here are the life stages of multigenerational Australian Labradoodles: Puppyhood: First five months Adolescence: Between five months and two years Adulthood: Between two and three years Middle age: Between seven years and 10 years Senior: Over 10 years Labradoodles need the most attention and care in the first and last stages of their life. During puppyhood, their minds are highly impressionable, which is ideal for training. During their senior years, Labradoodles are more susceptible to health problems, which means owners need to keep a watchful eye. Labradoodle Size The size of labradoodle puppies for sale directly relates to the size of their parents and which generation of breed Labradoodle breeders chose. The larger the puppies, the larger the adult dog will be, and the faster their growth will be coming out of the puppy stage. A standard labradoodle puppy will weigh from pounds by the time it reaches two months of age. By a year old, it will have grown dramatically to up to 80 pounds, depending on the size of its parents. Medium Labradoodles occupy a spectrum of sizes between standard and mini Labradoodles, with the specifics depending heavily on the details of the breeding pair that birthed them and the breeding program they come from. Labradoodle Puppies Temperament While Labradoodle breeders originally bred the Australian Labradoodles as therapy dogs, their fun, friendly personalities made them popular pets. Now you can find these sociable dogs in homes across the globe. Here are some of the top personality traits of our Labradoodle puppies for sale. They tend to do best in active households where they can work off all that pent-up energy. You can fulfill their needs through the following activities: Walks or jogs: Labradoodles make great walking companions and can even keep up with you during a jog. Playing in the yard: Enjoy a game of fetch with your furry friend in the yard or just let it loose on its own. Dog sports: If you stay active through sports, consider making your labradoodle a part of your routine. Bring it on bike rides, go for a run together or kick a ball around in the yard. Obstacle courses: Set up an obstacle course for your dog using household items. Scavenger hunt: Creating a scavenger hunt for your canine is a great way to exercise its body and brain. In general, Labradoodles need anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. You can also enroll them later at a Labradoodle puppy alumni school for proper training. Friendliness What makes Labradoodles the perfect puppy compare to other dog breeds is their ability to get along with just about anyone. They inherit this trait from their Labrador retriever parent, a breed also known for its outgoing nature. You can trust your labradoodle to form friendships with everyone, from children and older adults to strangers and other puppies. Thanks to their affectionate, sociable personalities, Labradoodles make great pets for first-time owners, families, or anyone looking for a companion. Intelligence Thanks to their poodle parent breeds, Labradoodles are incredibly intelligent dogs. Because Labradoodles are intelligent, they often crave mental stimulation. Labradoodle Puppies Grooming Our Labradoodle puppies for sale have a variety of coat textures that dog owners enjoy, but in general, their low shedding coat needs brushing at least twice a week. Not only does this keep them tangle-free but it also removes excess debris from their coat, keeping them fresh and hygienic. Regularly trim the hair around their eyes and in between their paws to prevent these problem areas from causing irritation. Pooches with fleece coats tend to have longer fur and benefit the most from going to a professional groomer — although every dog loves getting pampered once in a while. labradoodle puppies for sale in wirral - This natural process allows puppies to become independent feeders and reduces the physical demands on the mother as the puppies grow. The discomfort of nursing teething puppies may cause the mother to pull away before her puppies are completely satisfied. Hungry puppies will naturally seek an alternate source of food. Steps for Weaning Puppies To start weaning, you will remove the mother from the puppies for an hour, two to three times a day, to try eating solid food. Step 1: Make a Gruel Make a gruel of canned or dry puppy food mixed with puppy milk replacer or water. Look for a well-known, name-brand puppy food that is not grain-free. Ideally use the same brand of food that the mother dog eats. If the puppies do not take to the gruel, try blending this ratio: 2 cups of puppy food .Place the puppies in front of it. If the puppies do not seem interested, try dipping your finger in it and then touching their mouths so they can taste it. They may get messy in the process of exploring this new food. Step 3: Reunite the Puppies With Their Mother When the mother dog is reunited with her puppies, allow her to lick the remainder of the food from the dish and to lick the puppies clean. The gruel should be transitioned to less liquid and more solid until the puppies are able to eat the canned or dry food without diluting it. If a puppy is not ready, continue to offer meals in the presence of another puppy, if possible. The example of exploration with solid food will encourage this behavior. How to Feed Puppies After Weaning After the puppies are completely weaned , offer them three to four solid food meals a day until they are 6 months old, then two to three meals a day depending on their breed requirements and growth. Be sure that each puppy is gaining weight and not vomiting or having diarrhea. Seek veterinary care if problems arise. What to Feed the Mother Dog The mother dog should begin to eat puppy food during pregnancy , especially during the final two or three weeks. Consider a puppy food from the same brand that she is already accustomed to eating. She should continue eating the puppy food as she begins to nurse her puppies. Dry puppy food should be available at regular meal times. This will keep the mother dog from excessively eating it and allow the puppies to develop an appetite between meals. The demand for producing milk will decline as the puppies begin to eat solid food. With less time spent nursing, her milk production will decrease. At week four, gradually transition the mother dog back to eating regular dog food, which will also help to reduce her milk supply. By week seven or eight, her milk production will cease without the stimulation of nursing puppies once they are completely weaned. Featured Image: iStock. Wisconsin: 7 weeks Stages of development Now that you know when French Bulldogs can leave their mother, I wanted to dip a little bit into how the develop, to give you a deeper understanding of this amazing breed. It will give you some insight into how critical early care is with the mother, and how these things influence Frenchie overall growth. Weeks 1 and 2: confusion and lack of senses Newly born Frenchies are very tiny and a lot smaller than many other breeds. All they can do is to feed from the mother, sleep and poop. If you a French Bulldog puppy leaves the mother at this stage, it will almost certainly die. Handy Hint: French Bulldogs with white fur are more likely to develop hearing loss problems. Read this guide to deafness to get the inside track. In this first two weeks they adjust and respond to their surroundings, slowly opening their eyes to respond to light, crawl a little, and of course with the help of their mothers, instinctively try to feed. But mostly, they will sleep, which is very important for them at this stage. Week 3: interacting with their environment In their third week, French Bulldog puppies begin to develop their senses. Like other dog breeds, they start to explore their surroundings. They rarely sleep during this period and are seen running throughout the day. At this stage, they start recognizing humans, and can start to make strong associations and emotional connections. They might even get excited to see the breeder walking in. They are still in the early part of their development — both the puppies and mother could become distressed with too much human interaction. Any negativity at this point could affect the personalities of the whole litter, and in extreme cases can cause behavioural problems in the long term. Keep strangers at bay and to keep the French Bulldog puppies close to their siblings and mother. Week 4: social interaction In this stage, Frenchies start developing stronger connections with their siblings; this is where their social development begins. They learn how to play with their brothers and sisters. Also, at this point, the mother starts weaning them off the milk. They start learning how to become dogs at this time, with their mother being the teacher, role model, and guide. There are things happening during these weeks that mean it would be crazy to separate them. During this stage, Frenchies can be nervous about almost anything. As they begin to notice things more carefully, the world can suddenly seem like a very big and scary place. It can be a complete sensory overload, hence the nervousness — but they will adapt over time. Also, at this stage, they develop more control over their bowels and bladder and should be able to have a sounder sleep without waking up to pee all through the night. As a side note, breeders can start training the French Bulldog puppies some very basic commands like, stay, sit, and so on. Handy Hint: Learn how you can teach a French Bulldog puppy to sit with just a few simple to follow steps. You know how annoying and stressful teenagers can be? Frenchie puppies really are no different. As they become more independent, they will start to cause havoc. They will also have a tendency to bite and chew everything in their sight. Coupled with their developing rebelliousness; they can become a real nuisance. Weeks 8 to 9: French bulldogs can leave their mother At this stage, Frenchies puppies can leave the mother and siblings and go to their new forever homes. This is what Claude looked like when he first came home with us. Weaning and Sale Weaning: At 3 to 4 weeks of age, a dish of water and dish of gruel should be introduced to the pups. Feed a high quality dry puppy food, softened with warm goat milk or water to make a gruel. This can be fed in a low heavy dish 4 times daily. Gradually decrease the amount of time the pups spend with their mother at this point. Beginning at 2 weeks of age, they should be wormed with NemexR for the first time, then weekly until 2 negative fecal samples results are obtained, unless the bitch was on the PanacurR protocol during pregnancy. By 5 to 6 weeks of age, they should be weaned and eating only puppy food. From this point on, the pups will become more fun and a lot more work. It can become difficult to keep the pups confined and they can be messy and destructive. An exercise pen or playpen can be helpful. The first 3 weeks with the puppies are relatively neat and clean. Mom will lick them frequently and ingest all of their urine and feces. However, upon starting on solid food, the mom will give up this quest and you will now have to deal with excrement. There are many ways to keep the pups clean. This, with some practice, will give the pups a place to eliminate thereby keeping their bedding clean.
