The breed actually originated in and around Nottingham, England, which was the center of lace making. This small bulldog was a companion to the lace makers and ratter-in-chief. As the Industrial Revolution took hold in England, cottage industries such as lace making were threatened by mechanization, and many lace makers relocated to France. Toulouse-Lautrec even put a Frenchie in several of his paintings. French Bulldogs are surprisingly good watchdogs. City dwellers love Frenchies. Besides snoring, they make all sorts of snorts, grunts, yips, and other odd noises. If only Rosetta Stone taught Frenchie-language! French Bulldogs can be very stubborn and hard-headed. However, even after they learn a trick or behavior, they may do their own interpretation of it. They may circle the coffee table or jump on and off the furniture, and it will always be exuberant. French Bulldogs have a huge celebrity following just like Toy Poodles for sale. French Bulldogs are sensitive just like Dachshunds for sale. With a mischievous sense of humor, Frenchies are enormously entertain .Of course, children need to be taught how to play with a dog, regardless of breed. Plan on buying lots of toys; a Frenchie is a toy terminator, and enjoys ripping out stuffing and squeakers. Be careful what toys you choose for him and avoid ones that could be choking hazards. Their personalities are as large as their big bat ears. Adaptable, loving, smart, and mischievous, the French Bulldog is pretty much irresistible! We were reluctant to put a deposit because we almost got scammed before and the sell was so trustworthy he held our puppy for us. And when we were ready, he shipped the puppy over as he promised. Thank you guys for everything and making our family complete Ann Belcher Here is a picture of our Heavenly Deja, the day she was delivered to our home from Lovely home French Bulldogs by Thomas. Take the Quiz As the puppies get bigger and stronger, they need to be regularly checked by a vet to make sure they are developing well and to administer the necessary shots, de-wormers, anti-parasite treatment and microchipping. Health screenings like echocardiograms also need to be performed to ensure the pups are as healthy as possible when they join their new owners. Needless to say, these examinations also come at a considerable cost. Popularity of Frenchies The second reason that explains the high prices of Frenchies is the increasing demand for them. People simply love them for their unique personality and looks, but such popularity has its downsides as well. A high demand not only means higher prices, but it also attracts people with false intentions who will take any opportunity to get rich. More about that in the next section! Now that you know why Frenchies are so expensive, you probably wonder why you can still see some considerably cheaper offers on the internet, starting from a couple of hundred dollars up to couple of thousands. They know all the tricks to look real: they use photos and videos of puppies from other breeders and they write fake reviews about themselves. Ultimate Guide First name Email Unfortunately, we hear stories from adopters about having been scammed on a regular basis. What makes us even sadder is that some of these scammers are using our brand, name and photos to rip people off! You may think that could never happen to you, but one can never be too careful. Part of our mission is to fight against scammers and educate adopters about how they can recognize false intentions, so please read our article on how to avoid French Bulldog scams. Puppy farms If you think that scammers are horrible, wait until we tell you about puppy farms or puppy mills run by unethical breeders, also known as backyard breeders. They are the ones who saw the increasing demand for French Bulldogs as an opportunity to make money by breeding and selling these pups merely for the profit. For them, profit always comes first. They keep the poor babies in tiny places where they are not even able to learn how to run! In fact, unethical Frenchie breeders are the reasons why the breed gained a reputation for being unhealthy. A breeder like that is extremely selective about the breeding parents; they know the bloodlines for generations and exclude any Frenchie that shows any possibility of carrying a health issue. They always give you a Health Guarantee with their puppies and take responsibility if something goes wrong. An unethical breeder will do none of these things! So, now you see that you might save money at first by choosing a cheap French Bulldog, but later on you will leave a fortune at the vet, not to mention the stress both you and the puppy will go through! Always buy from a reputable breeder! In the previous sections, we tried to present all the dangers that you might face when adopting cheap French Bulldogs. Always ask yourself and the breeder these before reserving a Frenchie puppy! How does the breeder keep the puppies? Ask them about how and where the pups spend their days. How do they talk about the pups? If a breeder talks about their Frenchies like products, they most probably treat them and think of them as products! Are they ready to show you the pup via video call? This is a crucial question. You should always be able to see a Frenchie on a video call before reserving them. Breeding Frenchies requires special methods and practices from breeders, like artificial insemination and C-section. The steep rise of their popularity also made French Bulldog prices to increase in recent years. What is the problem with ads of surprisingly cheap Frenchies? Always be suspicious of scammers and unethical breeders. How to avoid online scams and puppy farms? You can avoid online scams and puppy farms by doing a thorough research. Always ask plenty of questions and expect satisfying answers only! Puppies should be held and fussed over regularly by a range of qualified people. When inquiring about your new puppy, a legitimate breeder would ideally offer you the chance to come and meet the entire litter on-site long before you bring a pup home. Initially, you should stand back and analyze how the puppies interact with each other. Ensure the puppy and the mother is interacting playfully and happily. Look out for any signs of aggression or mismatched sizes and coloration. The best Bernedoodle breeders will ensure all vaccinations and worming treatments are up to date. Additionally, a great breeder will work with a qualified vet to ensure all pups are checked before moving into a new home. Health care standards and guarantees are essential elements to check before buying a Bernedoodle from a breeder. They should care deeply that each puppy grows into a healthy dog. Do You Have References and Reviews? Ask if you can contact previous buyers personally to get a reference. A reputable breeder will care about more than just selling you a Bernedoodle puppy. Puppies need to spend at least eight weeks with their mother and littermates. Few breeders, if any, should contradict this. On this page we will discuss what a puppy mill actually is and what MBD does differently to set the standard high or all breeders. Some people think they know what a puppy mill is but what it really comes down to is how the parent dogs and puppies are treated. Some would say a puppy mill produces X number of puppies per year, however, that would mean having the supernatural ability to predict litter sizes. A puppy mill has everything to do with how the parent dogs are treated, the total number of litters not puppies each individual mom dog has and how the parents and puppies are cared for and socialized. According to the AKC, the acceptable number of total litters by any one mom dog is 9. It all depends on the mom, how they do with pregnancy and how they do postpartum. If they have problems during pregnancy or postpartum, they will retire from breeding and then placed with a living furever family. We are completely transparent in what we do and we WANT you to see all of the hard work that goes into raising puppies. Because you get to see it all in real time, live, ANYtime of the day or night. We are proud of our work here at MBD and we would love for you to be an active part of the journey to bringing your new fur baby home. What is a puppy mill? A puppy mill is not a place you would ever want to visit or buy a puppy from, even if the price is right. A puppy mill is a breeder who keeps hundreds of adult dogs in crates, which are stacked crate upon crate upon crate, for the sole purpose of breeding. They are kept in crates except when breeding, causing damage to their physical health, bone structure and mental well-being. They are competently cut off from being socialized. Essentially, they treat dogs just like some farms treat chickens by putting them in over crowded cages. Puppies are not well socialized, often very sick and have poor genetics with many health problems throughout their lives. The mom dogs are over bred until they can no longer get pregnant, often more than litters. Over crowding, over breeding and stacking crates upon crates so dogs are forced to poop and pee on each other are all common themes. At a puppy mill, once the mother or father dog can no longer breed, they are shot and killed. The puppies are not healthy and often arrive sick or are sick soon after you receive them. Also very very sad. At MBD, we would never ever mistreat our dogs or puppies. Not ever. We are the only breeder to offer this transparency nationwide, from their birthday all the way up to puppy pick day at 8 weeks old. We do this because we WANT you to know what happens behind the scenes and all of the hard work that goes into raising healthy puppies. It all starts with healthy, happy parent dogs. How can you identify a Puppy Mill? Identifying a puppy mill can be difficult. The following points outline how to identify a puppy mill and how to avoid purchasing a puppy form one. Most puppies that come from mills are unhealthy shortly after you pick up your pup. The parents are confined to small spaces, their health is severely neglected, they are never rested in between heat cycles regardless of any complications from previous litters. Inbreeding, line breeding and back breeding are all common in puppy mills, leading to even more genetic health issues. Here is a scam that is very common! If there is a disproportionate number of puppies to whelping mothers — huge red flag! A breeder refuses to divulge the name of his or her veterinarian. Advertisements are constantly in the newspaper classifieds, on fliers passed out in public places or listed on the internet to buy puppies from the same person or organization. A person holds a sign on the side of the road or camps out near a busy roadway trying to sell puppies. Breeding is not an experiment and responsible breeders will always do health testing on their parent dogs. The seller wants to meet you in a public place to complete the sale pre Covid The person does not ask you any questions other than money and pickup arrangements. Any legitimate breeder should care who his or her puppies end up with and ensure they are going to suitable homes. The person sells puppies at everyday events, such as garage sales or flea markets. If the breeder seems hesitant or unwilling to show you these areas or the parents of the litter, this is also a big red flag. Additionally, puppies under 8 weeks old are vulnerable to everything ans people can track parasites, bacteria, viruses, etc into the nursery on their shoes. Puppies are offered in opposite-sex pairs to encourage breeding. The breeder claims spaying or neutering is not required or unnecessary. The puppies are offered for sale and delivery before they reach 8 weeks old. The puppy is from a pet store Site Inspections If the breeder is willing to let you visit his home or breeding facility, this is an important step to ensure your puppy comes from a happy and safe environment. Look for these warning signs when visiting the location: There is a recognizable or overwhelming odor that is foul or unpleasant. Beware of an overuse of deodorizers or bleach as this may have been used to cover up an odor, which is usually a sign of a more serious problem. The appearance and health of the parents can reveal the level of care they are given. Look for dirty or long coats, missing teeth, eye or nose discharge, overgrown nails, visible injuries or sores, patches of missing fur or excessive scratching. If the cages or containment areas for the animals look more like a parking garage than comfortable accommodations, this is another concern. Animals should have enough room to turn around, stand on their hind legs and have a clean sleeping area away from food and water- at the bare minimum. At MBD, we have large playrooms, outdoor areas and a robust guardian home program. We are a kennel-free facility! Puppy Mills Continued…. Animals are contained in an area with urine or feces or both. The animals are not properly protected from the weather. Outdoor facilities should be climate controlled in areas with extreme heat or cold, and adequate shelter for all animals should be available. Look for small structures in disrepair or animals chained to fences, trees or stakes. No food or water is visibly available to every animal, or the water is dirty. It takes so little time to clean a bowl and provide fresh water, and this is a blatant sign of neglect that should have sirens going off as soon as you see it. Animals are either too skinny or overweight. A healthy weight is a good sign of nutrition and exercise. Underweight puppies are not getting enough food or may be sick, while overweight puppies may be either fed too much or not allowed to exercise. If there is only one or two people at the location but dozens of dogs, it would seem impossible to think each dog gets proper care, exercise and socialization. Unless they work in shifts or have a system for individualized care, ask them to explain their process or check for other signs listed here. The breeding parents are not available for you to meet. So, basically, their location is where the puppies get dropped off every time the parents breed, and this can also be a sign that the parents are kept in horrible conditions or are being forced to breed with every heat cycle. There is only one female breeding or there are too many to accommodate. Forcing one dog to constantly breed at every heat cycle is cruel and can cause health concerns. The dogs are also more likely to be destroyed once they are no longer able to produce litters. Overcrowding is a common theme at the puppy Mills. The breeder has no idea how many litters the female has produced. This is scary: The dog was bred so many times or records were never kept of the offspring. All of the animals appear to be sleeping or lethargic. This can be a sign of very poor health, or the animals may have been medicated to cover up a more serious problem. This information and more can be found at Petful. We were able to make trips to visit Boone while he grew, Wendy was always accommodating and super nice. During these visits we also became more acquainted with Boone's mom and grandmom, they are both loving and gentle souls. These are qualities we were looking for in our next dog as we have young grandchildren that will be a big part of Boone's life. We have had Boone for two weeks now. And he surprises us daily with how smart he is. We could not be happier with the start in life he had at Wendy's, his breeding, and HIM!! And I haven't even mentioned how absolutely beautiful Boone is! We collectively decided on getting a dog. We wanted a happy, smart, loyal breed that could fit in and grow with our kids. With those criteria we started looking for a Labrador Retriever. We soon drove to the farm to pick out our puppy. From that moment, until today, we have been so happy with our choice! Our silver lab, Rumble Rainier, has been value added to our home. He is perfect with our sons, he learned our routines quickly, and he keeps us smiling every day. Say Hi to Boomer. They were amazing to work with thru the whole process. We first picked him out in January and we got to visit every other week to watch him grow and get him familiar with us. He was the cutest little brown fur ball and it was fun to see him interact with all his siblings and his mom. He was also very loved and handled by their kids during the times we could not visit. He is a year old now and a very healthy and beautiful lab. He loves being outside, playing fetch, playing with his soccer ball, or being anywhere our 12 year old daughter is. He has been a great addition to our family! They really love their dogs and know how to breed healthy, well-adjusted dogs. Our Boomer loves all dogs, adults and children because of this. We are so thankful to Green Valley Pups and Paws for this whole experience! Amber McKinney.

Hold the blow dryer 12 to 18 inches away from the dog and move it quickly back and forth while initially using you other hand to fluff her har followed by brushing while still blow-drying, until their coat is dry to the touch. One trick my wife used to get the puppy used to the hair dryer was to sit on the bathroom floor while she blow drys her hair after her morning shower. Of course the puppy naturally wants to come up and play and she would play by turning the blow dryer on the puppy in short bursts and talking excitedly with them and pretty soon the puppy learned to enjoy the warm air. Young puppies should not be bathed too often, as it can dry out their skin and beautiful coat that the breed has been blessed with. You may want to place a small piece of cotton into each ear to help keep water out. Our Mini Goldendoodle are small enough to be bathed in the kitchen sink. Place a rubber mat or a towel on the bottom of the sink to give the puppy a more secure footing. Then fill the sink with warm water to a level she can stand and comfortably keep her head out of the water, then place the puppy in the sink and wet her down with warm water using a plastic cup, being very careful not to get any water in the nose or mouth. You can drown your puppy if not careful. To wash the face, apply a tearless shampoo from the applicator bottle. It takes traits from both breeds, and new puppy owners will quickly see this combination was chosen intentionally. The Labrador retriever is an intelligent, loyal breed with an excellent temperament for nearly any family or living situation. Unfortunately, these dogs also shed a lot, which can be a hassle. It also makes a Labrador a poor choice for public social situations, such as outdoor dining at dog-friendly patios. Instead, the coat traps dirt, allergens, loose hair and other debris inside it. This means less shedding but also means daily brushing is required. The poodle is also an intelligent breed that makes a perfect addition to most homes since it was bred to be a companion animal. Any puppy is a lifelong commitment. Understanding what to expect at every life stage will help you prepare to give your cute little puppy a long, prosperous, happy life. A normal-sized labradoodle will live an average of 12 to 14 years. Smaller labradoodles resulting from a miniature or toy poodle crossbreed will generally live a little longer. However, you must remember that this lifespan is only an average. There are plenty of labradoodles who live into their late teens. A healthy diet, regular exercise and periodic vet visits are crucial to your labradoodle puppy living a long, healthy life. These main life stages include puppyhood, adolescence, adulthood, middle-aged and senior. Each life stage is discussed in more detail below. Puppyhood If you adopt a labradoodle puppy, this will be the first stage you get to witness. A labradoodle puppy will remain in this life stage from birth until five or six months. Birth to 7 Weeks From birth until about seven weeks of age, labradoodle puppies stay close to their mother. They spend all their time eating, sleeping, growing and cuddling with their littermates. As they get closer to seven weeks of age, they may begin exploring their world a little. Around seven weeks of age, a labradoodle puppy will start becoming more interested in people. This is also when it begins forming bonds with you and other humans in the home or family. These adorable puppies will become more playful and curious at about eight weeks old. Instead, you want to create only positive experiences during this time to ensure it grows into a secure young adult dog. This is the perfect time to start positive training techniques. Teaching your labradoodle puppy about action and reward now will benefit its lifelong training. During this stage of puppy development, socialization is crucial. Now is the perfect time to take it to new places, introduce it to new people and provide it with new experiences. The most important part of this stage of puppy development is that your pup becomes a free and independent thinker. With its curiosity at an all-time high, this is the perfect time to bring your new companion everywhere. Socialization and bonding are other vital aspects of this stage of puppy development. Pet owners will find their puppy wants to be with them all the time and may become mildly anxious when separated from them. Most of its time will be spent eating, sleeping or getting into trouble. Your growing canine should have lost its baby teeth, have all its adult teeth and be out of the biting stage it may have had during puppyhood. Thanks to the Labrador genes, your labradoodle will always love to chew. You can stop destructive chewing behaviors by providing a chew toy or two or 20 to keep it occupied. It may become territorial, but regular socialization can help ease these issues. Your labradoodle will also begin showing quite a bit of strength, so continuing its training during this time is crucial. Acting out, wandering and even behaving aggressively are all normal during this time. Adulthood For a labradoodle, adulthood starts somewhere between two or three years of age and lasts until around its seventh birthday. During adulthood, labradoodles are at their prime. Their adult coat will grow in, which may be thicker or denser than their puppy coat. This breed is very intelligent and easy to train, so if you want to keep teaching it new tricks, you can. Weight Management Your labradoodle will reach its adult size between two and three years old. They can tell you if your dog is a normal size or needs diet and exercise. Middle-Aged Your doodle puppy will turn middle-aged around seven years old. This life stage is relatively brief and only lasts until the dog turns nine or .During middle age, most dogs are still active and overall healthy. It may exercise less and sleep a little more as it transitions between adulthood and its golden years. A middle-aged dog may begin to develop some health problems, especially as it gets closer to its senior years. The primary issues of concern are obesity, joints and teeth. The teeth and joints will become especially vulnerable during this stage, so you must take your dog for regular teeth cleaning and wellness visits. In addition, your vet may recommend supplements to protect the joints. Extra weight will also place unnecessary additional stress on the joints and heart of your dog. Senior Your dog will officially be considered a senior from around nine to 10 years of age until the end of its life. During their golden years, your labradoodle will require extra care and attention. Health problems are most likely to occur during these years, and your vet may suggest two annual well visits instead of only one. After 10 years of age, your dog will likely encounter issues staying warm. You might consider a heating blanket in their bed, keeping the house slightly warmer during winter or providing extra blankets to snuggle under. Your dog may also have problems with its eyesight. The most common issue for senior labradoodles is their joints, which tend to ache as they get older. In addition, they may have mobility problems caused by sore and stiff joints. For example, consider a ramp to help it get into the car or up your porch steps. Developing one or more health problems could mean a shorter lifespan for your labradoodle. A few of the most common health problems affecting labradoodle puppies or adults include: Allergies usually to food Ear infections which can lead to hearing loss after repeat infections Epilepsy. We have a whelping box set up that our mother dog gets used to several days in advance of her due date. As each puppy is born, he or she is weighed and tagged so that we can keep track of the health, growth, and identity. I check on the puppies every 2 to 3 hours, 24 hours a day, for a minimum of the first week, just to make sure they are healthy, nursing, and growing. Each puppy is held, weighed and snuggled several times a day to ensure they get used to my scent and the human touch. In order to move around, they scoot and roll … and they do a good job and can scoot pretty fast! At this time, they are still at a very vulnerable stage and their mom continues to be attentive and protective. She will hardly even leave her puppies in order for me to serve meals to her and make sure her box is clean and comfortable. This is still a time when they need a secure environment. Now they begin to get used to noises like the radio, vacuum cleaner and other household sounds. We hold the puppies up near our faces, so they can smell our breath and snuggle. Next they go from scooting to walking, and by the time they are 4 weeks old, they can usually walk pretty well although they are still a little wobbly and very uncoordinated. Their sense of smell is still the strongest and most relied on sense that they use to identify us. By the time they are about 6 weeks old, they consistently go on a target. Also at 5 weeks, they move to our puppy-customized play pens. Just like their wolf ancestors, they love to get into the crate and bunch up together — sleeping on each other, mouthing, and kicking. The crate becomes a source of comfort for them and they get used to going in for naps and each night to sleep. The puppies are curious and adventurous, however they will normally follow us around as we are their pack leaders and give them a sense of security in this big, new world they are experiencing. Our puppies are exposed to a variety of surfaces like gravel, grass, bark, hardwood flooring and carpets. Please go to our Puppy Socialization page for more info. At 2 weeks of age, these labradoodle puppies from the Haute Couture litter at Van Isle Labradoodles are just starting to open their eyes. We refer to this time as their second birth. Once puppy eyes are visible, it seems their personalities are able to be seen too. They are able to make out shapes and shadows and begin to associate those shapes with different scents. We have nicknamed these puppies the sausages because the puppies are all so lovely and plump. You can really tell with this group that their day is comprised of eating and sleeping only! We handle the puppies throughout the day as this assists with their emotional development and ability to deal with new situations in a positive manner. Ripple continues to do a spectacular job with her spectacular litter. We are so pleased with the colours and patterns from Ripple and Armani. At this point we are saying there is one sable phantom, 1 chocolate phantom, 1 chocolate with tan markings and the one red caramel. This may change going forward. Sable is a colour that is not always evident initially and sometimes may take up to several weeks to be visible. Puppy Statistics. Most vets recommend treating your puppy for worms at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks of age. After that, they should receive treatment every three months for all of their life. Based on where you live, your vet will advise you of what type of treatment your dog should have. Worming medication is relatively easy to administer yourself, so you may choose to go that route, or you can have your vet do the treatment. Here are some signs your puppy may be infected with worms: Diarrhea or vomiting. Weight loss despite eating well. Weakness and listlessness. Abnormally swollen stomach. Biting Phase All puppies bite! When the puppy starts teething, he is going to chew and bite. Biting gives the dog relief from the pain of teething. It also helps with boredom. When the puppy starts biting, take your hand away and give him an acceptable substitute like a chew toy. Having a variety of toys to choose from can really help here, as puppies, like children, will quickly lose interest when given the same toy over and over again. This variety toy bundle is packed with 12 different toys — ropes, balls, chews, and squeaky toys — that are perfect for little puppy mouths and needle-sharp teeth. An excellent value! No products found. Each time he bites, repeat this process and praise him when he chews on the toy instead of your fingers. When my dog, Oliver, was going through this phase, I found that a frozen puppy Kong really helped. Just be patient. The most important thing to remember is that this is just a phase that will soon be outgrown. Housebreaking is a huge responsibility that can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months depending on the puppy. For example, a 5-month-old puppy may be able to go for five hours in between potty breaks, but a 3-month-old puppy can only wait up to three hours before needing relief. For the best success at housebreaking, you need to be consistent and take the puppy outside at the following times. First thing in the morning. Right after eating. Right after waking from a nap. Just before bedtime. Any time you see the pup sniffing the floor. Carry the puppy outside to where you want him to go and put him down. As soon as he goes, praise him and bring him back inside. Do not allow him to play. With persistence and consistency, you should have your Labradoodle puppy housebroken in no time at all. Tip: Crate training your Labradoodle puppy will speed the housebreaking process significantly. This is the crate I use for my Doodles. Take the puppy around other dogs and animals once your vet gives the go-ahead. This can easily become overwhelming for shy or timid pups — we give you tips for making this a positive, successful experience in this article. You may also want to encourage young children to gently pet the dog with supervision of course to get him used to other people. When socializing your puppy, be aware that puppies undergo two distinct fear periods as they mature. The first occurs between 8 and 12 weeks, and the second can happen anytime between the ages of 4 and 14 months. If your puppy grows up feeling he should avoid children or be afraid of other animals, it can become a problem later. Visit our socialization article for more ideas and tips. Training Training your Labradoodle puppy should begin almost as soon as you bring him home. Give him a day or two to get used to you and his new surroundings and then begin working with him. Exactly how easy are they to train? Find out here. By the time your puppy is about 4 months old, you can begin teaching him tricks. Labradoodles are playful and intelligent dogs that love learning new things. Even the color might be slightly different. Depending on the type of Labradoodle you have, your pup will have either a fleece, hair, or wool coat. We explain more about Labradoodle puppy coats here. It will have to be groomed or brushed out as the new coat begins to come in. Failure to brush out the old dead coat can result in severe matting of the new coat, which can be a mess to deal with. Your Labradoodle will begin losing its puppy coat between 10 weeks and 14 weeks of age. The entire process of puppy coat to adult coat usually takes anywhere from one to several weeks. Although it varies from dog to dog, the baby teeth begin falling out between 14 and 30 weeks of age as adult teeth begin pushing their way through the gums. They may even begin falling out as early as 10 weeks old. The incisors are the first to fall out followed by the canines, and the premolars are the last to fall out. By the time the puppy is 8 months old, he or she should have a full set 42 of adult teeth. The dog will have 16 premolars, 12 incisors, 10 molars, and four canines. Keep those new adult teeth healthy by following the tips found in our Brushing Guide and how-to video. Related Questions: What is the average size for a Labradoodle litter? Usually, the larger the breed is, the more puppies per litter can be expected, though first-time moms sometimes have smaller litters. Round rails I find the pups stick their head through and get caught when older and now I use the solid rails with no problems. Also depends where the rails are positioned for the individual breed. Now I am not being critical here, but why was the bitch not up on her feet and investigating the crying? I only ask because the slightest noise and my bitches are up on their feet investigating. Could the bitch be tired after whelping and be in such a deep sleep that she didn't wake. Hope you have solved the problem because no breeder wants this sort of problem. You'd have to ask her this question. Both times she was awake. With the most recent mishap she actually did try to move but as she did she was pressing on the puppys neck even more. It was just lucky I was there and able to push her head down and release the pup. My whippet Penny was the same though, she'd be laying on a puppy and it was squealing and she'd just lay there. I was the one who'd have to rescue it. You're lucky your girls are more responsive. Just wishing you all the best and looks as though you will have to be ever vigilant with her. Looks as though you may be in for a bit of a rough few weeks. Link to comment.

All of these factors make the English Cream Lab an ideal pet for anyone looking for a loyal and loving companion. English Cream Lab Puppy Health Considerations Though generally very happy and long-lived — with an average lifespan of around years — our English Cream Labs for sale are not without their unique health concerns. Like every breed of dog, there are a few conditions you should be aware of before you consider purchasing one of our English Cream Lab puppies for sale. Understanding the risks allows you to know the signs and prevent small health concerns from turning into big ones. Allergies are the most common concern, and can be caused by anything from pollen to food ingredients. Hip and elbow dysplasia are both joint problems that can cause pain and mobility issues. Eye problems can range from minor infections to more serious conditions such as glaucoma. Finding an English Cream Lab puppy for sale from a reputable breeder can also dramatically — although, not eliminate — the risk of your dog developing some of these conditions. While they may look like they require a lot of grooming, English Cream Labs are actually quite low maintenance when it comes to their coat. A weekly brushing is usually sufficient to remove any dead hair and keep their coat looking shiny and healthy. And while they do shed, it is typically not as much as other breeds. When it comes to coat care, the key is to be gentle and avoid using harsh shampoos or chemicals that can strip the natural oils from their coat. With a little care and attention, your English Cream Lab will have a beautiful coat that is the envy of all your friends. We love to take the dogs out bird hunting, and am excited to get them started on waterfowl this year as we are located on the river. I have been around dogs my whole life, but the lab has always been my favorite. I started studying at the UW of Stevens Point for Wildlife Ecology and Captive Wildlife management, and had done some study in veterinarian medicine but complications with pregnancy forced me out. I decided after my first son was born that I wanted to stay at home with my babies anyways both human and canine. So I am now a stay at home mom for all of our babies. Prior to that I had worked at an animal shelter as well as a grooming and boarding facility. I am doing some online studies for genetics and animal behavior, as I am always striving to be very well educated with the dogs. I am an avid hunter and LOVE spending the days outside with the dogs.
