Information to come! This means that for every litter, Sergeants Boxers will go down the list and offer puppies to the families in order of deposits received. The family may choose a puppy from the current litter or may pass to wait for a later litter. Even if the family initially expressed the desire for a puppy from a future litter early in the conversation, they will still be asked if they would like to select a puppy when the current litter selections start. Selections start at each litter's 6 weeks of age mark. This allows the families to not only pick from color, but also from personality. Please know that these can change at any time and are only listed for reference. This is non-negotiable. Life Span Did You Know? The Boxer is one of the most popular dog breeds in the United States. It has been recognized by the AKC since .Although the Boxer dog breed originated in Germany, their ancient ancestry can be traced back to the Assyrian empire war dogs of BC. The modern Boxer breed we know and love today was originally developed in Germany in the late s. English-bred Bulldogs and the Bullenbesiier were crossed to create an energetic and agile hunting dog to chase wild game. The Boxer is a popular family companion and a versatile working dog. As a member of the Working Group, Boxers can be found competing in dog sports like agility, obedience, and herding. They also make great service and assistance dogs, as well as therapy dogs, and can be found working as search and rescue dogs, drug detection dogs, police dogs, and military dogs. The Boxer is a muscular and energetic dog that tends to have a happy, friendly disposition. They bond closely with their families and tend to get along well with children and other dogs. They can even do well with other pets despite their high prey drive if they are socialized and trained with them. As long as they are well-socialized, Boxers are generally upbeat, playful, and friendly. Although they have a natural instinct to protect their family from unwanted visitors, they do tend to warm up once introduced and are happy to make a new friend. They can be prone to barking a lot if you do not work on socialization and training your dog to stop barking early on. Boxers can be highly adaptable dogs. Although they have a lot of energy and are better suited to homes with yards where they can run, they can adapt to apartment living as long as they get the daily exercise, attention, and mental stimulation they need. As with any non-arctic dog breed, they are sensitive to very cold temperatures. Boxers are also a brachycephalic breed, which means they are even more sensitive to heat than other dogs. A Boxer is also one of the most affectionate dog breeds. Because they bond so closely with their families and get bored easily, they should not be left alone for long periods of time. Potential health conditions to be aware of in a Boxer include hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, thyroid issues , and heart conditions like aortic stenosis and cardiomyopathy. Good breeding practices make a big difference and reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. So, make sure you are asking the breeder about the health and genetic history of the parents and about any health tests that have been done. Boxers are intelligent dogs that are eager to please their owners. Despite their energetic personality, they are one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners and are highly trainable dogs. They tend to excel at almost any task put before them! Because of their open, friendly nature and high energy, they have a tendency to jump up at people in excitement and playfulness. Since they grow into powerful dogs, you will want to make sure you train your dog not to jump up. Boxers have smooth and short coats that will shed a little year-round and require minimal grooming. A brush-down once or twice a week and the occasional bath as needed will keep their short coat healthy and looking great. Nail trims once or twice a month are usually enough to keep nails from growing too long. Checking ears weekly and carefully cleaning as needed can help prevent ear infections. Checking and wiping their facial wrinkles weekly or a few times a week if your dog is prone to getting into things can help keep their wrinkles clean and free of irritation. Dental diseases, like gum disease, are the most common health issues in older dogs because dental care is often overlooked; and, it can lead to other serious health issues. Brushing daily, plus cleanings at the vet when needed, is ideal. The Boxer is a high-energy dog breed that needs plenty of daily exercise to stay happy and healthy. Due to their high prey drive and urge to chase, they should only be let off-leash in secure areas. Boxers tend to get bored with repetition, are excellent problem solvers, and are naturally exuberant. A fully-grown Boxer usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs pounds. Boxers generally live years on average. In Germany, the Boxer was one of the first dog breeds chosen for police training. Featured Boxer Article.

Another way to give their face a good cleansing is by using shampoo in a small applicator bottle to apply around the eyes and nose. A small shampooing brush can be used to lather the soap into the fur. You can apply the shampoo directly on their coat, working your way from the neck down to the tail. This includes their undercarriage, legs, and paws. If any shampoo gets left behind, then their skin could become dry and irritated. To thoroughly rinse a Goldendoodle, the best way to go about it is starting at the top and working your way down. Keep it systematic — also work from the front to the back. It may take a few rinses to get out all of the shampoo from their fur. Wipe them down thoroughly with a dry towel and try to soak up any excess water in their fur. Let them have a moment to run and shake themselves dry. A miniature Labradoodle puppy after a shower The next part is up to you. If you feel like the dog is dry enough, then you can let them take off. However, if you feel that they need to be dried off more, you may use a hairdryer on the lowest setting. However, that may not be the right option for every Goldendoodle because the sound does startle some. Remember to never do any grooming to the Goldendoodle while their fur is still wet. This is crucial because any extra water build-up in their ears could lead to an ear infection. Keep your pet smelling and looking good with their monthly bath. Does your Goldendoodle do well in the bath? If they are well behaved, and you would like to give their skin and coat a little more moisture, a mild conditioner or cream rinse is optional. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. Your puppy may be a little skittish, but there are ways to keep your Doodle at ease during their first bathing experience! Your supplies should include a gentle shampoo-plus-conditioner for dogs, a dog brush made for thick fur, a towel, and, yes, a hairdryer! Let them sniff and play with the brush, then move on to gently combing through their hair. Brushing is something your puppy will need at least once a week, so it is vital to make them as comfortable as possible to ensure cooperation into their adult years. Then, gently place your puppy into a bath tub filled with warm water. They may be uncomfortable at first, but remain calm and patient, giving them as much time as they need. As they adjust to this new environment, provide lots of praise and treats! This will ensure your puppy is well socialized for a lifetime of grooming needs. Shampoo When your puppy is comfortable, move on to your shampoo! Make sure their coat is fully saturated with water and gently massage the shampoo into their fur, avoiding their eyes, mouth, and ears. Clean these sensitive areas with a damp cloth or toothbrush. Rinse them thoroughly until all of the suds are gone with a removable shower head or a large cup. Leftover shampoo can make brushing more difficult later on. After your puppy is shampooed and rinsed, you can move on to the drying process. Use a towel to wipe down your Goldendoodle and let them shake off the excess water. Pay close attention to cleaning and drying their ears, inside and out — damp, dirty ear canals can cause an infection! Drying When your puppy is damp and your towel is soaked, bring out the hairdryer! Use a low heat and velocity setting for their first blow dry to prevent nervousness. This will prepare your Goldendoodle for future trips to the groomer and the bathtub alike! When your Goldendoodle is completely dry, you can finish their grooming by giving them a thorough brush. Brushing your puppy before and after bathing will prevent uncomfortable mats and knots. Next, introduce them to the nail clippers. Socializing your Goldendoodle with nail trimming as young as possible will ensure comfortability throughout their life! Now, you have an adorable, clean puppy. That is… until their next adventure! Do Goldendoodles Need Conditioner? We may bathe often, but bathing a dog too often can lead to dry skin, which causes itching in dogs. Grooming a Goldendoodle puppy should begin as early as possible in their life to promote acceptance of this task. This breed requires a lot of grooming, so get them used to a routine early. Some dogs will enjoy it, while others may only mildly tolerate it. The good thing is that puppies love to play, making it easier to undertake this ritual. Our Recommendation is to Take it Slow The first session can be a bit of a challenge for Lexie, but they will become less nervous about the process after the first few months. Having a puppy is a joyous time for a pet owner. We know it was for us when we adopted our beautiful Lexie. All that loveable cuteness with all that energy and curiousness about life can be fantastic fun to have around the home. As Lexie grew, she liked to go on little adventures around the house and our fenced-in yard, exploring and discovering lots of trouble. We found a perfect balance for bathing our cute teddy bear girl around once a month through research online and trial and error. We would only clean her more if she got extra, especially smelly or dirty, and needed it. In between those bath or shower times, we would brush her as needed with a slicker brush to remove tangles and prevent mats. If any mats have formed in their curly coats, you may need to cut them out with scissors or clippers. Puppies need to learn early on that bath time can be a fun experience. Regardless of how often a Goldendoodle puppy is bathed, it should always be positive since grooming is a lifelong task that they must accept and learn to enjoy. How do I bathe my Goldendoodle puppy? Those first bathing sessions were fun, where we ended up with just as much water on us as she did her, it was more like a family bath than a mini Goldendoodle puppy bath, but that was okay. Treats, verbal praise, and games can make the bathing experience enjoyable for everyone, from that first initial wash down to old age. These tools help keep it acceptable and fun for the whole family. It is important to brush and comb a Goldendoodle puppy before they receive a bath. Any discovered issues can be addressed, and then they can be bathed with a gentle dog shampoo free of fragrances designed for the unique needs of a puppy. You can follow this with a dog conditioner if desired. After this is done, offer a few treats and some much-needed praise. Overall it should be a positive experience for all involved, so everyone looks forward to the next time. We had a window of time to get it all done in those beginning days, fast before Lexie got bored. Thankfully her size made it easy for us to manage. A final brushing should do the trick, and both you and your beautiful fur baby pup will be headed for the next adventure of the day. It is highly recommended that a Goldendoodle puppy be bathed in a bathroom or possibly outdoors if the weather is tolerable. Some people like to think that bathing a dog weekly or bi-weekly will prevent them from being dirty, and to a certain point, depending on the dog itself, this is partly true what comes in its place though, can be much more irritating to deal with, dry skin. Not everyone enjoys baths at first, including us humans. Making it a fun experience can go a long way to creating the right environment for acceptance. Curiosity is the name of the game when it comes to bathing a Goldendoodle puppy. Depending on their unique pup personality, this may take a bit of time, a couple of sessions even, but throw in a few toys, and what Goldendoodle puppy can resist this fun? We did this once when Lexie was a puppy, and it was a warm summer day. If, after these sessions, a Goldendoodle puppy is less than enthused about a bath, their owner could undoubtedly join them in the tub for some water fun. Bathing a Goldendoodle puppy once a month is a guideline, not etched in stone. Should I have my Goldendoodle puppy bathed at the groomer every month? While a groomer can make a Goldendoodle look adorable, at the puppy stage, there is no need to waste money and time for them to do a task that a Goldendoodle puppy owner can do at home. Should the family be averse to doing it in their own home or yard, then a groomer will do a lovely job while offering them the experience of someone else handling them. This is a passive way to socialize with the Goldendoodle puppy. Grooming and bathing, whether at home or at a groomer, teach and train them while socializing them, which is beneficial for their mental and emotional development. They learn what is expected of them, and after a time, it naturally becomes a part of their life. In Conclusion A Goldendoodle puppy should be bathed about once per month. How often you bathe your Goldendoodle puppy is likely more informed by how dirty they get. This time frame is only a guideline as there may be certain times when they are bathed more or less than monthly. Whatever the length of time, we can tell you, a freshly bathed Goldendoodle puppy is too hard to resist! How Often Should I. Twitter Pinterest Splish, splash! Just like a human spa day, creating a calm environment will help your doggo enjoy the experience. Here are some ideas: Play soothing music. According to a study on music and dogs I found in Science Direct, dogs respond positively to soft rock and reggae music. Just hearing your happy voice can set a happy tone for your dog. Make it positive. Give your dog plenty of verbal praise, love, and even treats. If your dog is food motivated, it may be helpful to use a lick mat that can be suction cupped to the side of the tub. Before your dog hops into the bathtub, place a nonslip mat in the bottom of the tub. Also, it could help prevent a slip-and-fall injury for your dog. This is very important. Since dogs are a little more sensitive to warm water than we are, even making it a little less warm than you might like it is probably about right. Keep the water pressure low and gentle. Also, it allows you to focus on keeping water out of the ears and eyes. Use a dog shampoo to wash your dog. Do not use human shampoo to bathe your Goldendoodle. I simply put shampoo and water in a nonbreakable cup and mix it up. Then, I massage the shampoo into her coat one section at a time. For all the details on the dog shampoo we love and use check out: Best Shampoo for Goldendoodles. Working gently, I start from the top and work down paying extra attention to the paws, which tend to be the dirtiest. GOLDEN TIP: Especially for our long-haired or fluffy Goldendoodles, visually assessing the body while wet makes it easier to determine body condition—overweight, underweight, or just right. Also, I make sure to avoid getting water in her eyes and ears. Rinse thoroughly. This may take several passes. When washing my Goldendoodle, I usually start rinsing from the top and work down. That way all the soap gets off the highest point and goes to the lowest point. Leaving shampoo on the coat can result in irritation. Towel dry working in the direction of the coat. Then I wrap a towel gently around her body and help her out of the tub. Holding her like a baby, I pat her coat, working in the direction of her hair and not against it. When bathing a Goldendoodle, my goal is not only happiness but also not to tangle the hair. Rather, I towel dry working with the direction of the coat and not against it. Over the years, my Goldendoodle has become so accustomed to this, she gives me her paw so I can dry it for her. Blow dry the coat. After bathing a Goldendoodle, the gold standard is to blow dry the coat with a high velocity pet grooming dryer. This helps separate the hair. When the hair is completely dry, gently brush the coat again. Once your dog has had a good break, comb or brush the hair. For this last step, I think a dog grooming table comes in handy. Sometimes we celebrate with our favorite pupsicle frozen yogurt dog treat. More Goldendoodle bathing tips What else can you do to help your dog love and not stress over a bath? I typically plan on making Goldendoodle bathing a two-day event…one day for brushing and the next for bathing, drying, and brushing. Use your happy voice and give your dog plenty of sweet talk. Always check in with your dog. Is your dog cooperative? Never take this for granted. What about bathing a new puppy? If you have a puppy, there are several things you can do set your furry bestie up for a lifetime of happy baths. When my Goldendoodle was just a puppy, I honestly lucked into making bath time happy for her. She loved drinking out of the bathtub faucet. I turned it on so it was just a trickle of cool water. She clamored into the tub. She lapped up the trickling water from the spigot. Then I cupped my hands under the faucet and she drank from my hands. She still loves doing this as an adult. Your Goldendoodle puppy may love this too. Or, maybe your dog is food motivated. If so, you can try placing a lick mat on the side of the bathtub to provide a happy distraction. Here are more ideas for how to help prepare your Goldendoodle puppy for the first bath: Preparing your puppy for a happy bath time experience Before the bath, plan a time to just let your puppy have fun exploring the area where bathing will happen. Of course, have the area puppy proofed first. Let your pup sniff, explore, or approach the bathtub on their own terms. Slow and steady wins the race. If all is going well, try placing your puppy in the tub, which should be empty with no water running. Give treats, praise, and make it fun! Always end any new experience on a positive note. Once your puppy likes the bathing area and the bathtub, try turning the water on…just a trickle. Remember, the sound of the water may be frightening to a puppy. Give treats and use your happy voice to give lots of verbal praise. Enhance the experience by using a lick mat suction cupped to the wall. This makes a happy distraction. Thank you for sharing your valuable time with us and for loving Goldendoodles. Goldendoodle hugs and kisses! How to Wash a Goldendoodle How to Wash a Goldendoodle Goldendoodles are a popular mix between golden retrievers and poodles, and their coats share features with both parent breeds. The coat can range from gentle waves to full-on curls, with the longest growth on legs, tail, ears, or body. All these make it easy to wash a Goldendoodle. Start with Brushing and Clipping The first step to wash a goldendoodle is to thoroughly brush the coat. Some areas are difficult to access regularly with a brush and may be prone to mats or knots. Use a sharp and well-maintained set of clippers to remove the knots. Be sure to use clippers specifically designed for dog grooming as they are better equipped to cut through dog hair than human clippers. Never use scissors to clip your goldendoodle as sudden movements could cause injuries to the dog. Shampooing The next step is to move the goldendoodle into a bathtub or washbasin for shampooing. Choosing the right dog shampoo for a goldendoodle is critical to avoid drying out their often sensitive skin. Consider mild human shampoo options such as no-tears baby shampoo or fragrance-free shampoo-plus-conditioner. Once you have the right shampoo, you can jump in with the wash. Also, consider using a dampened washcloth. Massage the soap gently to create a lather as you go. Repeat this process multiple times until all of the soap is removed. Let the goldendoodle shake itself dry as needed and then air-dry or use a blow dryer on a lower setting so as not to startle your dog or hurt its ears. Be sure the dog is completely dry before any further grooming, as wet fur can appear shorter than it actually is. If you still have questions, contact us today. Daily brushing will keep your puppy mat free and will also teach your puppy that grooming is a routine event. Typically they need to be clipped weekly to be kept at the proper length. As they grow, you can move to once or twice a month. A groomer will typically clip nails as part of the grooming service. How often can I bathe my puppy? As long as you use a tearless shampoo, you can bathe as often as you like. Be sure to fully brush after a bath to avoid matting. When should my puppy have its first hair cut? Your puppy will probably be ready for its first hair cut at months of age. You will want to find a groomer before you bring your puppy home so that you can take them to the groomer before their first hair cut to get them comfortable with the groomer and the process. How much does a professional clip cost? Pricing will vary based on location, kind of cut requested, and the length and condition of the coat. How long does a professional clip usually take? You can expect the grooming appointment to be hours depending the size dog and the kind of cut you request. This is a widget ready area. Add some and they will appear here. Although a playful pup sounds endearing, consider how many games of fetch or tag you want to play each day, and whether you have kids or other dogs who can stand in as playmates for the dog. Click here for more information on this characteristic Cockalier Highlights Cockaliers are mixed breed dogs. The coat is medium in length and usually described as being curly to the touch. These cute and adorable pups are naturally friendly and affectionate towards people—and they do excellently around small children. The Cockalier requires over an hour of exercise every day. Ideally, these sessions should be on the energetic side. While this is an energetic mixed breed, these dogs can adapt to apartment living so long as they get enough exercise. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was first bred as a companion dog for members of royalty. When it comes to the Cocker Spaniel, they were originally bred as hunting gun-dogs and prized for their intelligence. The Cockalier has become known as a designer dog breed, but many of them unfortunately end up in shelters. Cockalier Size The Cockalier is a small dog. As is always the case with newer mixed dog breeds, exact size standards might vary. Most weigh in at ten to 28 pounds and range in height from twelve to 15 inches. Female Cockaliers are sometimes marginally smaller than their male counterparts. While the Cockalier can be fine living in an apartment situation, remember that this is an active dog who will need regular brisk walks and play sessions. This dog wants to be around people and become a key part of your family, whether that means embarking on long afternoon walks together or snuggling up on the couch to relax. Cockalier Health Cockaliers are generally considered to be healthy dogs, although the breed can be predisposed to some of the same conditions that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Chihuahua face. Your vet can help you develop a care routine that will keep your dog healthy. This is a dog who loves to run and chase after things, and will happily add swimming sessions to their repertoire. The Cockalier is smart, too, so make sure to add interactive toys to play times. Regular clipping will keep them in top condition. Cockalier Feeding An ideal Cockalier diet should be formulated for a small dog with high energy. The Cockalier does best in moderate weather. The mixed breed is exceptionally affectionate and playful and will love taking part in impromptu play sessions with the kids. Just remember to make sure both parties are socialized correctly during the early days. In general, Cockaliers are fine around other household pets. But be sure the boundaries between the dog and existing household pets are laid down early. Ultimately, early socialization really pays off with this breed. Make sure to reward your Cockalier for good behavior and adhere to a proper training regime when you bring them home to your family. Cockalier Rescue Groups It may be hard to find a breed-specific rescue for Cockaliers because they are a mixed breed. However, you may want to try Cocker Spaniel or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed-specific rescues, as they often care for mixes, as well. Here are some rescues you can try:. They are hypoallergenic, that is, unlikely to cause allergy in humans, so they would suit a family who are known allergy sufferers perfectly. Spookaliers are compatible with a variety of people who will provide love and attention to their new addition. Spookaliers are a mix in appearance between a Cavoodle and Spoodle, some inherit the short Cavalier, teddy-like face, and others the beautiful lone and elegant Spaniel ears. They are a very unique breed and are only very few in Australia as we are the only Spookalier breeders! The Spookalier is the perfect pet for any family, the Spaniel allows pups to be quite active but the Cavalier mix also provides a very placid aspect. Spookaliers love to socialise with other dogs and children. This breed is reasonably active, requiring regular walks and trips to the park but would also be quite happy to chill out in the yard with small children. Therefore, it is impossible to predict the exact size a pup will grow. Spookaliers can be a variety of sizes depending on the most dominant gene in each pup. Spookaliers will be a small sized breed approximately, kg and up to 40cm in height. The Spookalier colours also vary in each litter, with the possibility of anything from cream, apricot, red and black. Here at Kruizen Puppies we specialise in red and apricot Spookaliers. Spookalier Maintenance and Other Needs Spookaliers are a semi long haired breed that can either grow curly, wavy or straight, in a fleece coat depending on the genetic contributions of each puppy. They are a low to non-shedding breed that require regular exercise and would be content in an apartment or small yard. Spookaliers as with most puppies can be very energetic so it may be best to go for a walk or exercise before teaching them new tricks. The amount of grooming required is very dependent on the type of coat each individual pup inherits. All Spookaliers will require some form of grooming and clipping, especially those with a curly, non-shedding coat, as it will not fall out. However, low shedding pups will not require as much maintenance, just regular brushing and the occasional clip. Dogs with a more predominantly poodle type coat also need regular brushing to prevent knotting. Spookalier ears, as with all long-eared dogs, need cleaning regularly to prevent infection. Also, around the eyes should be cleaned daily to prevent buildup of eye discharge. The Spookalier is perfect for most family lifestyles and are beautiful little dogs. They can grow up to the size of a Cocker Spaniel, however, are generally smaller than this due to the Cavalier and Toy Poodle mix. The Spookalier is fantastic with children as they are quite small but also reasonably active and happy to run around the house or backyard with young children. Spookaliers love the water and are very happy with regular trips to the beach or river when possibly but also love to play on beautiful grassy fields. The Spookalier is a gorgeous new breed and you will never understand how you lived without one!
TOP "We love Luna and she's been great!!! She has definitely gotten comfortable and driving our other dogs crazy, LOL! We adore her! She has the greatest temperament!!! She's perfect! We cannot thank you enough! Just wanted to send a few pictures of Macky! He's growing like a weed! We joke that all he knows how to do is eat and snuggle. Obsessed with him! He is an exceptional puppy with a sweetness and sensibility that everyone comments on who meets him. We couldn't be happier with this sweet boy. He was the missing piece to our home. We are considering getting another puppy from you. Whatever you are doing, as breeders, is 'kosher' as far as we are concerned, and I trust you and your opinions. Again, I cannot say thank you enough for our wonderful Royal, and all the work you did in his first weeks, to encourage him to be the best he could be. I want to thank your children for their input also. He practically gets hypnotized when we roll him onto his back and rub him all over his belly, paws, and tail, and he absolutely loves when little kids come over to play. You can tell he had a very good experience with your kids, and passes that love on to other kids. Thanks again, Katie! A huge lover and snuggler. We can't get enough of how sweet she is! She is doing so well! She just graduated from the beginner's obedience training this past week! Contact Us Welcome First and most importantly, each of our English Golden Retrievers are an integral part of our family. They live in our home, sleep in our beds and are treated like Royalty. According to the dictionary, to treat with royalty means: treating someone or something extravagantly or with elaborate attention and care. It is our pleasure to introduce you to our family, our passion and our dogs. Because our dogs are part of our family, we often take them with us as much as we can. They enjoy playing with the kids, going to cross-country meets and ball games, hiking trails at the park, participating with the kids in 4-H at the local fair, going on walks, riding in the car and a few have been or are currently therapy dogs at the local school. Our goal is to be as loyal, loving and nurturing to our dogs as they are to us because they bless us everyday in so many ways. Second, for one of our dogs to be chosen to breed they must be genetically sound, have a pedigree with healthy lines and have a wonderful temperament. In order to produce the healthiest puppies, each of our adult English goldens go through the OFA certification process for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart. A few of our dogs have been certified through PennHIP evaluations as well. We also do genetic testing so we can avoid certain conditions such as ichthyosis that could be genetically passed down from parents to their offspring Puppies are Our Passion Puppies are our passion. One of our biggest rewards in raising puppies is the frequent smell of puppy breath and getting to know their furever families. We ensure our litters of puppies are treated like royalty just as our adult dogs. They are nurtured, given an endless amount of affection and spoiled with love. Because they are raised in our home, they are exposed to the sights, sounds, and smells of a busy household. We provide neurological stimulation and introduce them to a variety of toys, textures, surroundings and people. We find that acclimating puppies at a young age helps them develop into well-adjusted, confident, calm and loving family companions. We love the priceless contributions puppies have made to our family and want you to enjoy the same memorable lifelong experiences with your new dog. Our puppies come with dew claws removed, wormed, have their first vaccinations, are micro-chipped, vet checked and limited AKC registration papers. If you are interested in a puppy, we recommend submitting an application right away to get put on our waiting list. Brandy was our first American female, and our three kids best friend. She had a great disposition, was kind hearted and gentle with kids. After her passing we took a day trip to watch a local dog show and we fell in love with two english cream goldens that were training for therapy work. They were show stoppers! Their dark round eyes stood out against their beautiful cream-colored wavy coat and we fell in love immediately. Rudy was our first male and was everything we dreamed of. He came from a champion pedigree, had great conformation, a calm loving disposition and a desire to please which helped him earn his therapy license. At age two, Rudy joined me as the therapy dog in my 5th-6th science classroom and a year later in my kindergarten classroom. In we purchased our first female, Emma, who is full of love and a perfect dog mom. She is a puppy at heart, loves to talk to anyone who comes into our home and has mothered puppies other than her own, kittens and guinea pigs. At age 13 and 14 they are both very healthy and enjoy retired life. Rudy enjoys going on walks and getting spoiled by Grandma Cathy and Aunt Mary. Emma thrives on attention and helping new litters of puppies learn how to play. Rudy and Emma have been the perfect foundation of our breeding program and continue to be an important part of our family. Around the time they are 18 to 24 months old, Boxers finish growing. Naturally, larger Boxers will reach their adult size later than Boxers on the lower end of the scale. What you should never overfeed a dog? You should never ever overfeed your dogs too much carbs as they get stored as fat in the body if they are not used. Unfortunately, carbohydrates are much cheaper an ingredient as compared to the other nutrients like protein. Hence, they are often used by major large dog food manufacturers to make up the weight of dog food whilst keeping the prices of the dog food low. This is the main reason why pets all over the United States are getting obese. And, ironically, this became the driving forces behind the rise of these healthy pet food startups , as their founders seek to provide their own proper and much healthier alternatives. The high fiber content will make your dogs feel content faster and thus eat less. Never miss out on consulting your vet on the topic first — they will be glad to guide you through it! Boxer Growth Stages Until they reach adulthood, Boxers go through 3 growth stages. The general difference between the growth stages is how fast the puppy grows during the period and how they appear in posture and body condition. The first stage is from birth until they are 2 weeks of age. After the second week, the growth rate slows down. Most breeders wean the puppies off around the 4th-5th week. At 18 months of age, you can probably introduce your companion as a fully developed, curious, and independent adult Boxer. Boxer puppies have somewhere between 2. At the end of the first stage, they can reach around 4. At 1 month of age, their stuffed muscle figure comes at about 5. By the time they are 16 weeks old, males weigh lbs .Male Boxers are expected to have approximately lbs .In the next six months, the growth slows down to about lbs 0. Male Boxers should weigh around lbs kg by the time they reach 6 months of age. Female boxer puppies are expected to have lbs kg when they are half a year old. Since the Boxer qualifies as a medium to large breed, it takes longer for them to reach their full-sized version compared to other smaller breeds. There are exceptions when Boxers complete the growth at 20, even 24 months. Female Boxers that are done growing up weigh approximately lbs kg and stand .Their male counterparts have between 60 and 70 lbs kg and are 23 to 25 inches cm tall. In the meantime provide quality food, regular exercise, and maintain regular veterinary check-ups to ensure their well-being. As with all other dog breeds, some adult Boxers will be smaller than the standard dimensions of the breed. On the other hand, there is a handful of those that are larger than the standard too. Genetics is the most probable cause for this. Rarely do Boxers end up being smaller than the rest due to low production of the growth hormone. Luckily growth hormone problems in Boxers are very rare and other breeds such as the Miniature Pinscher, Spitz, or Karelian Bear Dog are more prone to the condition. Growth defects in dogs can appear due to Dwarfism Achondroplasia. Minor deformities can be surgically corrected, but again with a dubious prognosis. In Conclusion Understanding the growth chart will help you understand what role nutrition, diet, and exercise plays and adjust accordingly. Getting rid of excess weight or ruling out health issues is something you and your vet can work on together. Disclaimer: This blog post does not substitute veterinary attention and does not intend to do so. I am not a veterinarian or pet nutritionist. If your dog shows any sign of illness, call your vet. Post navigation. Also, as long as you take your dog to vet check-ups regularly, and if the dog has received all the necessary vaccines for his age, you can be sure that your dog is healthy. However, an alarm could be triggered if you notice that your dog has problems with obesity or if he is underweight. In that case, it is necessary to find the reason for the inappropriate weight and work to solve this problem as soon as possible. A fully grown male Boxer weighs between 65 to 80 pounds. The adult weight of a female Boxer goes from 50 to 65 pounds on average. However, various factors significantly affect the average weight and height of a Boxer, so there might be some deviations from the average weight and height of these dogs. We will explain the factors affecting Boxer Growth in detail below. How big is your pet friend going to be? Birth-Two Weeks When they are just born, all that Boxer puppies do is eat and sleep. In this stage, puppies do not have teeth and are deaf and blind. However, this stage is not passive for Boxer dogs. Boxer puppies usually weigh around 3 pounds when they are born. At the end of their second week of life, their average weight is between 4 and 5. Therefore, this growth stage presents a rapid growth stage for Boxers. Two Weeks Weeks Being a large dog breed, Boxer dogs need a lot of food so they can grow accordingly. If you are used to having a small dog, be ready to give a lot more food to your new pet! When these dogs are around 4 weeks old, they start to eat solid food. During this period, they gain a lot of weight, so it is necessary to be careful not to exaggerate with the dog food. By the time they are 4 weeks old, Boxer puppies gain teeth and also develop a sense of hearing and open their eyes. When they are 5 weeks old, Boxer dogs start to show the urge to socialize and need their playtime. At the stage between 6 and 8 weeks, your puppy should start with his first vaccinations. When they are 8 weeks old, Boxer puppies are ready to leave their mothers and go to their new homes. In the next stage, when Boxer puppies are from 9 to 12 weeks old, dog owners will enjoy them the most, since this is the period when these dogs are ready to learn some basic tricks and commands. At the end of this period, both male and female Boxer puppies should be around 12 inches tall, according to the breed standard. Three Months-Six Months This is the period when your new puppy starts to explore the world. In this stage, it is extremely important to introduce your Boxer to new places and new people. This is the best way to properly socialize and train your dog. In terms of weight for this stage, a healthy weight for a Boxer at 5 months is between 33 and 40 pounds. As to height, a 6-months old Boxer should be around 18 inches tall at 6 months. Six Months Months Compared to some smaller breeds, you sometimes might think that your Boxer is not acting according to his age. Larger dogs or medium-sized dogs such as Boxers reach maturity in later stages than some smaller dogs. You might have to wait a while until you have an adult Boxer in your home! Most dogs of the Boxer breed reach their adult size when they are around 1 year old. However, some of these dogs continue to grow, so, according to the Boxer growth chart, these dogs will reach their full height and full body weight at the age of 18 to 24 months. According to some opinions, it takes up to three years for Boxer dogs to reach their full maturity! So, be prepared to enjoy a long period of childhood behavior from your dog friend. Larger dogs usually have a shorter life expectancy than smaller dogs, and we are not quite sure yet what is the main reason for this. What Factors Affect Boxer Growth? If you are well acquainted with the Boxer growth chart, you will be able to provide your dog with the lifestyle he needs to have to become a happy and healthy dog. A couple of factors might significantly affect the growth of your Boxer. Genetics Genetics is very important for your dog in general, as it largely determines the appearance and behavior of a dog. If this information is not available to you, you can always have a DNA test done that can help you find out how big your dog might get. Going for a walk, running around the yard or any other activity is always welcome to help your Boxer spend the tremendous energy he possesses. Although exercise is essential for this dog, it is important to make sure that exercise is not overdone. If a Boxer gets too much exercise before his bones and joints are properly developed, this could negatively affect his further growth. Nutrition Since Boxers are bigger dogs, they need a lot of quality food to develop properly. However, every Boxer owner must be extremely careful here. The food your Boxer gets should be full of vitamins and minerals, but you should not overdo it with the amount of food. Two meals a day is quite enough for a Boxer, so try not to leave food out for your dog outside of these two feedings. This way, the dog will learn his routine and will not look for extra food. Boxers are dogs that easily become obese, so proper feeding habits need to be instilled at an early age. Bottom Line We know that all dog owners sometimes wonder if their pet is at the right weight and height according to their age. To make it easier for you to answer these questions, we have described the Boxer growth chart in this article. By following this chart, you can conclude whether your dog is in the average weight and height range that corresponds to his age. If you notice minor deviations, do not stress! Various factors affect the growth process of your Boxer, and, remember, some Boxers continue growing even after their second year of life. All you as a responsible dog owner need to do is provide your dog with enough love, exercise, quality food, and regular visits to the vet. This way, your Boxer, without any doubt, will grow into a healthy and big dog! We can see when your Boxer puppy will become their adult size and reach its full height. Your new puppy will grow rapidly for the first two weeks. Your pup should weigh between 4. When your doggo is between six and eight weeks old, they should also prepare for their first vaccinations. Males should be around 17 to 19 inches .At one year old, females should weigh between 55 and 65 pounds .Many factors are involved. For your doggo to maintain a healthy lifestyle, monitoring their growth and weight is a good idea. How can you tell how big a Boxer will get? Within the first six months of age, your Boxer will grow rapidly. You can tell how big your pooch may get by looking at their paws and head. For example, your furry friend may look disproportionate for a while. However, some parts of their body will catch up to the rest within a few months or even a few weeks. Is your Boxer at a healthy weight? You can typically tell whether or not your Boxer is at a healthy weight by their ribs. But, on the other hand, if you can feel and see their ribs, they may be underweight. Always check with your vet to be on the safe side. What are some Boxer dog body shape changes? Boxer puppies grow in height faster than their weight gain. When this dog breed matures and becomes an adult, they will have a wide chest. But, overall, Boxer is strong and lean. In addition, different factors are involved when it comes to impacting how your dog grows. In addition, reputable breeders should have this information. The nutrition you feed your pooch can help or hinder their growth. For example, if you feed them dog food with unhealthy fillers and lots of fat, they may become obese, thus hurting their growth and overall health. Will neutering or spaying your Boxer affect their growth? Spaying or neutering your Boxer has more pros than cons. For example, some health conditions may include hip dyslexia, bloat, acne, arthritis, and cancer. The best way to ensure your pooch remains healthy is to work together with your veterinarian. Take your dog to regular vet appointments at least once per year for an annual check-up. In addition, talk to your vet about the type of dog food and exercise your Boxer should be getting. If your doggo is overweight or underweight, the vet will be able to help. Finally, properly groom your doggo. Physical activity Boxers need plenty of room to run around and stretch their legs. However, they love to play and enjoy a round of fetch with you in a fenced-in yard. Just be sure to wait until their bones and joints are fully developed before taking them for jogs or hikes. Otherwise, they could have joint issues later in life. Dangers of stunted or accelerated growth If your Boxer is a little bigger or small than the others of its breed, that may not necessarily be a bad thing. However, some issues can occur. For example, your pooch may be smaller due to a growth hormone deficiency. This controls the growth rate in dogs, their bone and teeth development and maintains a healthy coat. Dwarfism could also be the reason. When do Boxers stop growing? You can expect your Boxer to be fully grown and stop growing between 18 and 24 months of age. This system works on a scale of one to nine. One means your pup is underweight and unhealthy. Nine means they are extremely overweight. The ideal place on the scale where you want your large dog to be is a five. What should you do if your Boxer is growing too fast? Growth disorders can occur in larger dogs, such as Boxers. If you notice your dog growing too fast, talk to your vet first. How to help your Boxer lose weight if he is overweight? This includes their diet and exercise. Take a look at what dog food you feed your pooch. In addition, do you feed your doggo people food and table scraps? Do Boxer mixes vary in size? If you want to learn more, you can read about Boxer mixes here. How Big Is Your Boxer? These happy doggos are a delight to have around. Boxers are great companions dogs for anyone young or old. While this pooch can have certain health conditions, they do have an average growth track. Overall, with proper exercise and dieting, your Boxer will develop into a happy, healthy pup. We hope to answer all the questions you have about Pugs. Just read and enjoy. Feel free to share if you find it valuable to others! Best regards, Or, are you just looking for a cheap pug? Either way, you need to read the rest of this post. First, you are incredibly unlikely to get a free pug. Like it or not, there are expenses involved in breeding healthy puppies. First, you must understand that all Pugs are not created equally. Getting a good price on a Pug is not the same thing as getting a better price on a new camera , TV , or new car. Different breeders are selling you different things — from one, you might get a Lexus and from another you might get a Yugo. What makes it a little bit more complicated is that price does not always indicate whether you are getting a good dog. You could find a disreputable breeder who sells their puppies for as much as possible. On the other hand, you may find a very good breeder who is only trying to cover her costs and would be willing to sell their dog for less than it is worth. You might also find a good breeder who charges a fee only to make sure that they give their dogs to good homes, on the theory that people who are interested in a free pug do not have the dedication or resources to take proper care of a dog. However, you are more likely to find a breeder who is selling you a cheap dog because the breeder is set up to produce a large number of puppies without regard for the health and quality of those puppies. Just as burger places serve cheap food that will cause you health problems, breeders selling large numbers of cheap pugs will sell you dogs with health problems. You will get very attached to your puppy, I promise you. Pugs, especially those from puppy mills, are prone to health problems, and it can be very painful to lose a pug early because of this. While it might save you a small amount of money now, getting a cheap pug will cost you a lot more if you end up with one that has serious health issues. Finally, in the long run, the difference in price between a pug from a reasonably priced reputable breeder and from a puppy mill will not be that much, relative to the cost of regular vet visits, heart worm pills, dog food, and dog toys you will buy. Also, you should definitely consider a rescue pug. They are definitely not free most of the time, but they are a good way to get a dog. I will talk more about rescue pugs in a future post. To learn how to tell a good from bad breeders and for more about why it is so important, you absolutely need to read my earlier article on pug breeders. We have just 1 black male left available! Now, they are still a popular choice for service, guide, and therapy dogs and are also a popular companion dog. Labrador Retrievers and Poodles are both friendly, gentle, intelligent, and affectionate dog breeds. The Labradoodle tends to be similar. They are open and friendly and crave human attention and affection. They are happiest when they are with people. Labradoodles also tend to have an energetic and playful personality. They get along well with children, other dogs, other pets, and strangers. They are alert enough to bark or let you know when someone is at the door, but they are not generally good watchdogs or guard dogs as they are more interested in making friends. A Labradoodle is a highly adaptable dog breed. They do very well in homes with space to run and they can adapt well to apartment living as long as they are given plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They also do well in most climates. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat and cold. Because they enjoy being around people, they do not generally like to be left alone for long periods of time. They can also become bored if not given enough attention, exercise, or mental stimulation, which can result in destructive behavior. This dog breed is generally healthy, but they do have the chance of inheriting common health conditions from both of the parent breeds. Some health conditions to be aware of include elbow and hip dysplasia, ear infections, progressive retinal atrophy, hypothyroidism, and epilepsy. Good breeding practices can reduce the likelihood of passing on many of these health issues. Be sure to talk with the breeder about the genetic history of the parents and ask to see any health clearances; this can help allay potential health concerns. A Labradoodle tends to be eager to please and highly intelligent, which makes them highly trainable. They are a good fit for dog owners of any experience level. As with most dog breeds, Labradoodles respond best to training that is consistent and uses positive reinforcement. There are some grooming tasks that are common to every dog breed. When it comes to coat care, it can vary with a Labradoodle. Poodles have a low-shedding coat that is also high maintenance in terms of brushing, trimming, and professional grooming. Labs tend to have a higher shedding coat that needs minimal brushing and grooming. For the most part, a Labradoodle will have a low or non-shedding coat that will need to be brushed a few times a week. But, they can have a higher shedding coat should they take after their Labrador parent. You may also need a few professional grooming sessions throughout the year. Nail trimming once a month is usually enough to keep movement comfortable and prevent longer nails from snagging on things. Proper dental care for your dog will help prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Drop-down ears are more prone to infection because floppy ears are more likely to trap moisture, dirt, and debris. This will make grooming throughout their life a much more enjoyable process for both you and your dog. It can even become a bonding time for you both as well. Labradoodles tend to be high-energy dogs. They require a few daily walks plus some time to run and play in order to stay happy and healthy. They certainly love to play and you may tire out before they do sometimes. They may calm down a little as they get to be a couple of years old, but they tend to be quite energetic as puppies. Going swimming with your dog , taking a hike with them, going on a trip to the dog park, playing a game of fetch, and more are all great supplemental activities to ensure your Labradoodle gets plenty of exercise. You can even train them to compete in dog sports like dock diving, flyball, agility, obedience, and more. A fully-grown Labradoodle will usually stand between 21 to 24 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between 50 and 65 pounds. Labradoodles generally live 12 — 14 years. However, it did not become popular until when the mix was specifically bred to create hypoallergenic guide dogs. Featured Labradoodle Article. It is possible for Labradoodles to have coarse fur, and some will even have straight fur, like their Lab parent. But, neither the Poodle or Labrador breeds have proper wirehaired coats. Wirehaired Labradoodles will need slightly different coat care to a wool, fleece, or even Lab haired type. What is a Wirehaired Labradoodle? The standard American Labradoodle mix combines the purebred Poodle with the purebred Labrador Retriever. Labradoodles are not yet an officially recognized breed by many breed clubs, but they have a large, growing fanbase nonetheless. But, straight coats and overly harsh fur are undesirable. So, many Labradoodle breeders will aim to stay away from this coat type, breeding for curly, wavy, soft fur instead. Because of this, a wirehaired Labradoodle is very uncommon. Unless a breeder is specifically breeding for this trait by introducing another coat type from a different purebred dog. Can Labradoodles Have Straight Hair? Although fleece and wool coat types are preferred by most breeders, it is possible for Labradoodles to have straight fur. Particularly first generation mixes, which are mixed breed dogs with two purebred parents. This will usually have two layers, but both contain straight fur. Since most breeders will try to create puppies with fleece or wool fur, you may need to find a breeder that specializes in hair coat Labradoodles. Or at least one that has a litter of first generation puppies. So, we now know adult Labradoodles can have three coat types: hair, fleece, or wool. Each one is increasingly curly. Of the three fur types, fleece coats will be the softest. But the hair type will be the straightest. Both hair and wool types can feel quite coarse. However, none of the three fur types are wire-haired. All Labradoodle puppies will have similar coats, regardless of their adult fur. They will have a single layer of soft puppy fur. Over the first few months of their life, this will shed away to reveal their adult coat. This potential coarseness will come with the arrival of their adult coat. Are Wire Haired Labradoodles Hypoallergenic? Labradoodles are often sold or marketed as a hypoallergenic dog. No dog breed is hypoallergenic! Curly fur is more likely to catch shedding dander and saliva-coated hairs, so it can be better for people with allergies. Since puppies can inherit any traits from their parents, a Labradoodle with a wirehaired parent may shed like that parent. So, owners will be best prepared for shedding if they research the parent breeds used to produce their wirehaired Labradoodle. Wirehaired coats can benefit from regular brushing. They will be able to teach you techniques and daily maintenance for the time in between sessions with them. Where to Find a Wirehaired Labradoodle Puppy Knowing where to search for a wirehaired Labradoodle puppy will depend what you mean when you say you want a wire haired puppy. Do you really want a Labradoodle with a wiry coat? Or do you just want one with a straight, coarse, Lab-like coat? If you want a Labradoodle with a Lab-like coat, you should look for first generation mixes. These puppies are more likely to have a large Labrador influence than later generations, or puppies that have been backcrossed to a Poodle. But, if you want a Doodle with a true wire coat, you should look for puppies that have been bred from a wirehaired breed. They will have influence from another purebred dog. Above all, no matter which coat type your dog has, you should only choose reputable breeders. The best breeders will only breed from healthy, friendly dogs. They will be able to show evidence of health testing, and will treat their dogs and puppies with care. Avoid puppy mills, pet stores, and backyard breeders wherever possible. Their temperament allows them to blend well with kids and other pets in the house. They will win the hearts of their owners and it comes to them naturally. But you have been warned. They will take over your heart first and win your affection. You will still need to handle each one with different levels of discipline, training, and other factors. Finding the right pug breeder is a crucial step in making sure you have the best pug puppy for your home. Below are several steps you can take to help you figure out legitimate pug breeders. List Down Local Pug Breeders The first step you need to take is to list down pug breeders who might have a pug puppy and are closest to you. Finding the ones closest to you will save you time and money as you go and check the puppies and their homes. The best thing to look for breeders is to ask around for recommendations. If being AKC registered is a must for you, make it known to the breeders right off the bat. You must also decide early on if you prefer a male pug over a female pug. Also, decide early on If you are open to another breed pug owners might have. All of these will help you decide which pug breeder to go for. Ask Vet Clinics and Grooming Clinics Pug breeders will need to check in with vets once their puppies reach a certain age. The puppies will need to be vet checked before they are released. The male age and female age for puppies to be ready for a new home are at 12 weeks. This allows them to fully develop. Vets will probably help you find the pug breeder or owner you can talk to as their clinics are well networked with breeders and owners in the local area. The same is true for grooming clinics. Both of them are great sources of information. People who belong in dog clubs are passionate about raising healthy dogs. If there are dog shows in your area, it is best to go to one of their events. They are also a perfect place to ask for recommendations, especially if you want to stick with a local search. Once you have a list of breeders, you can proceed to the next step. Identify Legitimate Pug Breeders Now that you have a list of pug breeders, the next step to finding the best breeders with pug puppies for sale WV is to identify which breeder is the best to deal with. You need to know how to identify the best breeders who are honest and responsible. Check their website and social media channels for reviews. You can even reach out to some of their clients and ask them for feedback. Look for negative reviews like breeders giving out a male pug instead of the female pug advertised or sudden changes in pricing contrary to the posting. These are things you can watch out for and clarify during your discussion with a breeder Narrow down your list to breeders who have reviews and recommendations that are positive. Ask the Breeder for Information Before setting up with a breeder, prepare a list of questions you will ask. You can ask about the details of the sale listings the breeder might have, the health guarantee they offer, or for health certificate that they possess. If not confirmed in their listing, you can ask if the puppies or the parents of the puppies are AKC registered. Ask as many questions as you can but always be courteous in asking them. If the breeder knows the answers by heart, it is a good sign. It means that the breeder knows details about the puppies they are selling. Take a Vet with You Ask the breeder if you can take a vet with you when you check the puppies. Most breeders who only run puppy mills will shy away from this request. Having the puppy vet checked is a good step for you to take to positively identify the health condition of the puppy. Although most puppies from good breeders come health guaranteed, it is always best to err at the side of caution. Pug Puppies for Sale Online If you want to get more options, you can always try looking for pug breeders online. Most of these companies put up websites for people to see their work online and any pug puppy that is available. You can make a quick search for Pug Puppies for Sale and narrow down the result to your liking. The rules stay the same for identifying a reputable breeder. Since it may be impossible for you to visit the puppy or check their shelter to see if it was indeed family-raised as specified in their listing, never make any advanced payment for any transaction. These pugs end up in rescue shelters because they have either been abused and rescued or were totally abandoned by their previous owners. Sometimes a male pug may come that would need a new home or pug puppies that have been abandoned and rescued. Some of the pugs in rescue shelters come with complete papers. They are vet checked as well. This option will save you money and you save one pug from possibly ending up in a kill shelter.
