Dogs with long lines registered with the Goldendoodle Association may have more predictable traits, but not as much as an AKC purebred dog. These puppies are born blind, deaf, and without teeth. These first weeks are a very critical time in their development. Your puppy will start to open their eyes at about 2 weeks of age. By the time that they are 3 weeks, their ears will be open, and you will start to notice that their teeth are pushing through their gums. At the end of this first stage, your Goldendoodle puppy will be aware of their surroundings. They will start to bark, crawl, and interact with the other puppies in their litter. At the end of this first puppy stage, they are aware of everything that is around them and are trying to crawl, bark, and interact with their littermates. During this time, they will continue to grow in size rapidly. Most importantly, they start to get more socially active with their mom, littermates, and the people in their lives. Your puppy will start to learn many new things during this stage of puppy development. Their mother will begin to teach them a few basic manners and start the weaning process. They will learn how to play with other puppies and what other puppies will tolerate. This is when they will learn how strong of a bite they have and what is okay for playing. They will usually establish a pecking order within the litter of puppies. This is the main reason why most breeders do not recommend taking the puppies from their litter and mother until they are about 7 to 8 weeks old. By 6 to 7 weeks of age, your Goldendoodle puppy will be able to be left alone for a short period of time. They will also be doing normal puppy behaviors such as eating puppy food , walking, running, and wagging their tail. This is also the time that your Goldendoodle puppy will need their first set of vaccines and dewormed. Most breeders will take their puppies to the vet for these vaccines. This way, they know that their puppies have received the vaccines that they need to get started off on the right track. Stage 3: 7 weeks to 12 Weeks After 7 weeks of age, your puppy is old enough to leave their mother and other littermates and go to their new home. This will probably be around the age when your first get your Goldendoodle. At first, try to keep everything just like the breeder had been. This helps keep your puppy on a normal routine while they are adjusting to their new house. Once your puppy has been at your house for a few days, you can slowly switch things if you want. You may already have a diet you want your puppy to eat. Also, make sure that your dog is eating large-breed puppy food. This will make sure that your Goldendoodle puppy is receiving the best nutrition needed for their fast-growing body. If you do plan on switching diets, make sure that you do this slowly; quickly changing diets can cause GI problems in your new puppy. At this age, your puppy will be ready to start learning everything and experiencing everything you are ready to teach them. They learn very fast at this age, so it is important to make sure that you are teaching them correctly. Your puppy can learn basic commands and manners by going to puppy classes. This will also give them socialization with other puppies and people during this stage. Having many different social encounters will help them become a very well-mannered dog. During this time, your Goldendoodle puppy may show signs of fear. This is a normal experience for a puppy to go through. They may be afraid of certain people, places, or things that they have never been afraid of. During this time, it is important to continue to socialize your Goldendoodle puppy and show them that these things are not as scary as they first thought they were. Make sure not to expose them to a lot of simulations at once, as these can cause them to become more afraid. Stage 4: 3 months to 4 months This is the stage of development when your Goldendoodle puppy will start to become independent. They may even start to challenge you or even ignore you. This is very similar to the terrible twos in people. Your Goldendoodle puppy will also start teething around this time. They will have very painful gums, which will cause them to want to bite and chew on anything possible. Make sure that you are providing your puppy with plenty of approved chewing toys in order to keep your shoes and furniture from becoming the next chew object. During this stage, you may find that you are telling your puppy no a lot. All this training will eventually pay off, and your puppy will be very well-mannered and do what you tell them to. Most of the time, your Goldendoodle puppy just wants to please you. All you must do is give them a little patience and love, and they will quickly learn what is expected of them. By starting obedience classes during this time, you will help your puppy become a friendly and well-behaved adult Goldendoodle. Stage 5: 4 months to 10 months During this time, your Goldendoodle puppy will continue to grow and develop very quickly. It is very important to continue teaching and training your Goldendoodle puppy. They will learn how to adapt to different social situations and what behavior is approved and what is not approved during this time. They will also continue to challenge you, so be prepared to stick to your training and not back off. During this time, your Goldendoodle may act a little bratty. There are going through their teenage years during this time. Also, during this time, do not let your dog play-bite with you, as this can teach them to be aggressive and encourage other dominant behaviors Around 6 months of age, it is advised to spay or neuter your Goldendoodle puppy. These procedures will help your puppy stay healthy and happy as well as prevent unwanted litters that end up in the shelter. Stage 6: 10 months to 1 Year During this stage, small Goldendoodles will reach their full size. They will usually reach maturity around 8 to 12 months of age. Larger Goldendoodles will continue to grow during this time and may not fully develop until they are 18 months to 2 years old. Your Goldendoodle puppy may now look like an adult dog; they usually are still developing mentally. They will have a ton of energy and usually not a lot of common sense. You will still need to monitor your Goldendoodle for any unwanted behavior and quickly correct any problems that you notice starting. Even though they are no longer a puppy, they will still need to continue training and learning commands. At this stage, your Goldendoodle will need lots of attention and exercise to keep them for getting into trouble. Always use a very firm voice and positive reinforcement when training and correcting unwanted behavior. It is best to have a loving and patient but firm voice when training your Goldendoodle Stage 7: 1 year and Older Between 1 and 2 years of age, your Goldendoodle will be fully developed and sexually mature. Your puppy will finally stop growing but may fill out in size just a little. At this point, you can now start exercising more with your Goldendoodle. They love to go for a jog, do agility training, or go for a long hike. Since their bones are now fully developed, there is less likely that they are going to have joint or stress injuries. This is also the best time to switch your puppy from puppy food to adult food. It is always best to stay with the same brand of puppy food that you fed to help decrease any GI signs from switching food. When switching food, it is recommended to switch food slowly. Also, make sure that the diet that you are feeding your Goldendoodle puppy is a high-quality diet. When will my Goldendoodle puppy need to be vaccinated? This is a common schedule most veterinarians follow when vaccinating puppies. This is usually done by the breeder before you get your Goldendoodle puppy. Most of these worms are microscopic, but some you can see in their stool. If you see worms, make sure to let your vet know. Your vet can give your Goldendoodle puppy medication to get rid of these nasty worms. Not only will your pet need vaccines, but they will also need heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. All of these parasites can cause health problems in your Goldendoodle, some of which can be fatal. If you notice something is not right in your Goldendoodle puppy, it is best to take them to the vet. Some very young Goldendoodle puppies can have problems regulating their blood sugar. If you notice that your Goldendoodle puppy has diarrhea, this can be from the stress of going to a new house, parasites, or even parvo. Any problems noticed in your puppy could be very serious, your vet can examine your pet and make sure that there is nothing that is wrong with your puppy. It would be better to be safe than sorry if your pet has something very serious going on. Both parvo and parasites can easily be prevented by sticking to the vaccine schedule and making sure that your puppy is properly dewormed. How big will my Goldendoodle puppy be? It can be hard to tell as puppies which one will be the biggest or which one will be the smallest. Usually, from the time that they are born until the day that you pick up your new puppy, all the puppies in the litter will change in size. At 8 weeks old, the smallest in the litter will usually be the smallest when they are all fully grown. The older your puppy gets, the easier it will be to determine if your puppy will be bigger or smaller. The exact adult weight can be a guess, but you can expect a miniature Goldendoodle to weigh about 4 to 9 pounds at 8 weeks old and a standard Goldendoodle to weigh over 9 pounds at 8 weeks old, and a medium-size Goldendoodle to fall between the 8 to pound range. Most dogs do most of their growing in the first 6 months of life. Smaller and miniature Goldendoodles will be half-grown at 4 months of age, with larger Goldendoodles taking a few months longer to reach this half-grown point. The larger the dog, the longer it will take them to reach adult size. When will my Goldendoodle Puppy stop growing? It may seem as if your Goldendoodle is getting bigger each day. Most Goldendoodle will be done growing by 1 to 2 years of age. They will usually reach their maximum height by 1 year of age and just fill out a little bit in the next year. Miniature Goldendoodle will be done growing by 7 to 10 months. The smaller the dog, the quicker they reach their adult body weight. Standard Goldendoodle should reach their full size by 2 years of age. After your Goldendoodle reaches 1 year of age, you need to monitor what you are feeding them. Adult Stage Since your puppy is now over a year old, they are not growing, but there are some things that you need to consider as they start to get older. Goldendoodles that have just matured are usually very active. As your Goldendoodle gets older, they will start to slow down and sleep a little more. There are diseases that you need to look out for as your Goldendoodle gets older. If you notice any of these signs in your Goldendoodle, you need to see a veterinarian. On day three we start doing early neurological stimulation once a day with each puppy. This takes about 30 seconds of puppy. We also let each puppy sniff a new non-meat scent each day I. At that 3-day mark, I also start allowing my kids hold the puppies on their laps as long as the mom is comfortable with it which ours always have been. Early Neurological Stimulation ENS Also known as bio sensor and the super dog program, early neurological stimulation is a widespread exercise done with neonatal puppies. ENS should only be done on days when the litter has not undergone any other stresses. The exercises are quick and simple. All you need is a chilled rag, a q-tip, and about one minute of time set aside for each per puppy. Note: ENS is an excellent exercise, but it does NOT replace enrichment during the transitional and socialization periods. Find a new item to introduce each day from days .Check your fridge for fruits and veggies and collect bits of nature like pine cones, leaves, and dirt from your backyard. Week Two Health Care Worming Even though mama dogs are on regular parasite prevention, intestinal parasites can still be an issue. You may choose to take puppy stool samples to the vet to check for worms and treat if needed. Talk to your veterinarian about worm prevalence in your area of the country. Worms are more likely in warmer, wetter areas of the country whereas deworming may seldom be necessary in dryer areas. Both roundworms and hookworms can infect humans. We typically worm our puppies with Nemex 2 wormer Pyrantel Pamoate to treat intestinal parasites that puppies are born with. Nemex recommends treating puppies at 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age. Puppies love dewormer and swallow it willingly. Whenever puppies receive dewormer, I simultaneously worm mom. Initially I worm her with Nemex, but at the 6 week worming, I give her the normal heart worm preventative in lieu of Nemex. Some breeders use a stronger version of Pyrental. Others worm with Safe-Guard Fenbendazole , which is a goat wormer. Revival Animal Health offers several types of puppy dewormers. Plus nail trimming is going to be a regular activity throughout their lives, so we want to introduce them to it at an early age. We use a soft human baby brush to brush pups. Puppies start being big enough for breakaway collars between weeks. Living Quarters Puppies remain in the whelping box until they start climbing out of it. We continue using washable incontinence pads to line the bottom of the whelping box and add in a small bed with a bumper. I also share a puppy tip each week. I repeatedly have families tell me how much they enjoy the Instagram videos. Continue breathing on their little faces and brush them with a soft brush. We also handle the puppies regularly. Lots of petting, lots of kisses, and lots of snuggling assuming mama is okay with it. Once those eyes start opening, we put one object in the pen each day. Eyes open slowly over a few days and are sensitive to light initially, so avoid bright lights. Weight-in We continue to weigh the puppies daily and keep a record of their progress Double BirthWeight Milestone Echo had done an amazing job feeding her puppies. All our puppies have been gaining weight daily. Puppies should double their birth weight between 7 — 10 days. The first puppy doubled her birth weight on day 7 and the rest followed over the next few days. All our puppies have doubled their birthweight and continue to grow with each passing day. As you know, the Goldendoodle breed is an intentional mix of Poodle and Golden Retriever. We have a few smaller puppies in this litter. Aggressiveness toward humans or other dogs. Head The head is proportionate to the size of the dog, clean-cut, and without exaggeration of any sort. When viewed from the side, the skull and muzzle are approximately equal in length, and joined by a moderate stop that is defined, in part, by the moderately well-defined supraorbital arches over the eyes. Faults: Wedge-shaped head; long, narrow head; massive, cheeky head. There may be a slight median furrow between the eyes at the forehead, and the occipital bone is not conspicuous. Cheeks are clean. The bridge of the muzzle is straight and on a parallel plane with the top line of the skull. Viewed from the top or the side, the muzzle is slightly deeper and wider at the stop than at the tip. Lips fall away in a curve toward the throat, and are neither pendulous nor squared off. Removal of whiskers is permitted but not preferred. Faults: Snipey muzzle; muzzle too long and narrow or too short and stubby. Level bite is acceptable, but not preferred. Faults: Missing premolars. Serious Faults: Undershot or overshot bite, misaligned teeth, missing molars. NOSE The nose leather is black on black and yellow dogs, and liver on chocolate dogs. A slight fading of nose pigment is not a fault. Nostrils must be large and open. Disqualification: Nose completely unpigmented. EYES The eyes are medium sized and somewhat triangular in appearance, but never so much as to give a hard expression. Eye color is brown in black and yellow dogs, and brown or hazel in chocolates. Eyelids are close fitting, and eye rims match nose pigment. Expression is kindly and intelligent. Faults: Yellow eyes; eyes too dark; eyes too small or too round and prominent; eyes set too close together; eyes protruding or too deep set; any feature that detracts from the correct Labrador expression. Disqualification: Absence of pigmentation in eye rims. EARS The ears are drop, triangular in shape, and rather short, with the front edges attached well behind and just above the eyes. When pulled forward, the tip of the ear should just cover the eye. The ear leather is pliable. When alert, the ears are drawn up and forward, with the inner edges of the ears close to the cheeks. Faults: Large ears; heavy ear leather. Neck The neck is of sufficient length to allow the dog to carry retrieved game with ease, and powerful, but not throaty. The neck is clean and blends smoothly into well laid back shoulders. Faults: Neck too short and thick; ewe neck. Forequarters Shoulders are smoothly muscled. The shoulder blades are long and well laid back with the upper tips fairly close together at the withers. The upper arm appears to be equal in length to the shoulder blade and joins it at an apparent right angle. The elbows are close to the body and set directly under the withers. The forelegs are straight, strong and sturdy in bone, with strong, short, slightly sloping pasterns. Faults: Too much or too little bone. Serious Fault: Legs too short and heavy boned. Whether the dog is standing or moving, the line of the back is strong and level from the withers to the slightly sloping croup. The loin is short, muscular and deep, with little or no tuck-up in a mature dog. The ribs extend well back and are well sprung out from the spine, forming a broad, strong back, then curving down and inward to form a deep body. The brisket extends to the elbow. Viewed from the front, the chest between the forelegs is well filled and of moderate width to allow for efficient movement and stamina. Viewed from the side, the forechest is well developed but not exaggerated. Faults: Slab sided or barrel ribbed; chest too narrow or too wide. Hindquarters The hindquarters are broad and muscular. In profile, the croup slopes slightly. The angulation of the hindquarters is in balance with the angulation of the forequarters. The stifles are well bent, and the hocks are well let down. When the dog is standing, the rear toes are just slightly behind the point of buttocks. Viewed from the side, the short, strong rear pasterns are perpendicular to the ground and, viewed from the rear, parallel to one another. Faults: Cow hocks; spread hocks; sickle hocks; over-angulation causing a sloping topline. Feet Good feet are essential for a working retriever. The feet are of medium size, round and compact with well-arched toes and thick, elastic pads. Dewclaws may be removed, but is not mandatory. Faults: Splayed feet; hare feet; knuckling over; feet turning in or out. Tail The tail is a distinctive feature of the breed. It is a natural extension of the topline, very thick and muscular at the base and tapering to the tip. A tail of the correct length extends no longer than the hock. The tail is covered with the same thick, dense coat as the body, but never feathered. When the dog is relaxed, the tail hangs down naturally. When the dog is moving or alert, the tail may be carried level with the back or only slightly above level. The tail should never curl over the back or be carried between the legs. Dogs with docked or altered tails resulting from working injuries are not to be penalized. Serious faults: Tail extremely short or thin. Coat The Labrador Retriever has a short, dense, water-repellent double coat. The outer coat lies close to the body and is straight, although a slight wave down the back is permissible. The coat texture is firm and resilient, neither coarse nor silky. Undercoat is soft and dense. Serious faults: Woolly coat; soft, silky coat; sparse coat; absence of undercoat. Color Color may be solid black, any solid shade of yellow from red to pale cream, or any solid shade of chocolate. Yellow dogs may have variations in shading on the ears, back and underside of the dog. A small white spot on the chest is permissible but not preferred. White hairs from aging or scarring should not be penalized. Disqualifications: Any color or combination of colors other than described above; albinism. A correctly built Labrador Retriever male in working condition should weigh between 65 and 80 pounds and a female should weigh between 55 and 70 pounds. Gait When trotting, the gait is effortless, smooth, powerful and well coordinated, showing good but not exaggerated reach in front and drive behind. The topline remains level with only a slight flexing to indicate suppleness. Viewed from any position, legs turn neither in nor out, nor do feet cross or interfere with each other. As speed increases, feet tend to converge toward center line of balance. It is recommended that dogs be shown on a loose lead and moved at a moderate speed to reflect true gait. The Revised Standard is alleged, among other things, to adversely affect owners, breeders and sellers of dogs and bitches that deviate from the standard's height requirement. Not-For-Profit Corp. The Court has considered the substantial written submissions of the parties including numerous affidavits and declarations and the arguments of counsel at a hearing held on August 16, the "Hearing". For the reasons set forth below, Plaintiffs' request for preliminary injunctive relief is denied. Furthermore, Plaintiffs maintain that since numerous of their dogs and bitches no longer conform to AKC's standard, they can no longer effectively participate in AKC-sponsored dog shows or conformation events. Plaintiffs further maintain that the ability to conform to AKC's standards and to compete in conformation events is essential to the breeding and sale of Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers. Certain Plaintiffs, though not all, are members of the LRC. Plaintiffs bring this action individually and as class representatives; however, to date Plaintiffs have not moved for class certification. See Fed. Pursuant to its charter, constitution and by-laws, the AKC approves the breed standards adopted by its member specialty clubs such as the LRC. AKC's Constitution provides that "[t]he standard of excellence of all breeds.In its role as the Parent Club for the Labrador Retriever breed, it has, from time to time, adopted and submitted recommendations to the AKC relating to the Labrador Retriever breed standard. LRC's constitution provides that amendments to its breed standards must be approved by its members, and that such amendments only become effective after their approval by the Board of Directors of the AKC. Plaintiffs further allege that, as a result of the foregoing, the demand for "Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers is sufficiently great to cause prices for such dogs to exceed, by several times, the prices for non-Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers". Show Dogs, according to Plaintiffs, are comprised of two types of dogs a "Original" Labrador Retrievers those owned, bred and sold by Plaintiffs , bred from blood lines established in England, and b "American" Labrador Retrievers those owned, bred and sold by Plaintiffs' competitors , a narrower and taller version of the Labrador Retriever developed more recently in the United States. Plaintiffs allege that more "Original" dogs are subject to disqualification under the Revised Standard than "American" Labrador Retrievers. According to Defendants, the Labrador Retriever is currently the most popular breed of dog in the United States. A height standard has been in place for Labrador Retrievers since .The standard is, as it has been for almost five decades, that adult male Labrador Retriever dogs are to be .Moreover, Plaintiffs argue that the previous standards were not enforced. The LRC concedes that "Labrador Retrievers of varying heights including those below and above the designated height standards have competed and won prizes in AKC-sanctioned confirmation events" prior to the effective date of the Revised Standard. The Revised Standard was implemented effective March 31, .Defendants contend that two valid votes of LRC's members were conducted by a private accounting firm and that those votes were in full compliance with LRC's and AKC's rules and regulations. Plaintiffs, however, allege certain improprieties in the conduct of the votes and further that LRC's membership was not informed of the implications of the Revised Standard's height range prior to the vote. According to LRC "[t]he principal reason that this disqualification was added in the revised standard was a concern that had increased over a period of years that certain breeders and judges had increasingly disregarded the height ranges set forth in the breed standard with the consequence that championships were being awarded to Labradors that did not meet the long specified height ranges. Defendants further argue that height standards for dogs are not exceptional. Plaintiffs do not challenge that "nearly AKC breeds contain recommended height standards. All 24 breeds of sporting dogs have a recommended height; 6 breeds among the sporting breeds have a height disqualification.AKC characterizes the effects of the Revised Standard as follows: All dogs previously registered as Labrador Retrievers with the AKC are still registered, and will continue to be entitled to compete in dog shows. Dogs that already are champions will continue to be entitled to call themselves champions. The standard is solely used to judge Labrador Retrievers seeking to win championships based on their conformity to the breed standard at dog shows. Any dog that is "disqualified" at a show will still be registered as a purebred dog and entitled to be used as a breeding dog whose offspring could be registered as pure-bred Labrador Retrievers. Indeed, only after three disqualifications would a too short or too tall dog be disqualified from competing at future dog shows. Despite Defendants' attempt to minimize the impact of the Revised Standard, under this standard, 1 dogs and bitches which fail the height standards if not previously qualified as a Champion, will no longer be able to become a Champion, and 2 if a Champion dog or bitch is disqualified at three competitions, it will no longer be able to compete. Plaintiffs argue that the above quoted passage by focusing on registration illustrates that the Defendants misunderstand and minimize their injury: they are in the business of breeding and selling Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers. The effect of the Revised Standard is also disputed. Plaintiffs argue that at the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac Specialty Show they conducted a study of dogs. Moreover, the disqualification rate at shows since the implementation of the Revised Standard has, according to Plaintiffs, increased significantly. In fact, Plaintiffs argue that the disqualification rate would be higher but for the fact that exhibitors refrained from entering their dogs out of fear of disqualification. Defendants, in contrast, argue that the Revised Standard has had no discernible effect. Defendants also argue that this number is inflated because the short, broad Labrador Retrievers were deliberately entered in the show in order to manufacture evidence of damage to Plaintiffs. Defendants further challenge Plaintiffs' allegations that as a result of the Revised Standard the "supply of Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers will necessarily shrink, and, the demand for dogs that will remain qualified to compete under the Revised Standard will necessarily increase, with a concomitant increase in price. In fact, Defendants' expert, Jerry A. Hausman, a Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, concludes that price will not be affected because supply can easily be adjusted by the expedient of more frequent breeding of Labrador Retrievers. Affidavit of Jerry A. Additionally, the parties vigorously dispute the ease with which complying litters can be bred. Defendants contend that "height-disqualified dogs could easily be breed to taller or shorter dogs, and in 63 days a litter of dogs will result that likely will contain some taller or shorter conforming offspring at maturity. Plaintiffs argue that Defendants' assertion that their injury can be eliminated by breeding a new line of Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers in 63 days is erroneous: breed lines, according to Plaintiffs, cannot be altered in one generation and, moreover, the second and third generations of dogs usually return to the size of the original stock. This faction competes with the members of the Plaintiff Class in the relevant market". Plaintiffs further argue that "[w]ithout the ability to obtain championship status for their dogs, breeders who have spent years developing a reputation for producing championship lines will lose that reputation along with the good will they have painstakingly developed with their customers. Further, Plaintiffs argue that injunctive relief is appropriate because "[i]t is already inherently difficult to estimate the adverse impact on potential sales of puppies and demand for stud services under the Revised Standard. Defendants vigorously dispute the allegations in the Complaint and assert various defenses, including failure to state a claim. Defendants oppose Plaintiffs' request for injunctive relief on several theories, including that 1 Plaintiffs' injuries are self inflicted because they have refused to breed conforming dogs and are not irreparable, 2 Defendants are likely to prevail on the merits, and 3 the balance of hardships tip in Defendants' favor. Notably, Defendants characterize Plaintiffs' action as an aesthetic disagreement with the standard for Labrador Retrievers. At a hearing on July 6, , the Honorable Claude M. Plaintiffs' request for preliminary injunctive relief is not supported by the facts or the governing law. Indeed, Plaintiffs mischaracterize their own Owens, Jessup, Watkins and Price affidavits collectively, the "Affidavits". Owens and Jessup, whose activities include stud services, state that if "the Revised Standard remains in effect, my stud services business will suffer dramatically, possibly forcing me out of business. Plaintiffs repeatedly assert that the reputation necessary to compete in the market for breeding cannot be established overnight and that Championship Stock Labrador Retrievers are produced from breeders who have spent decades developing their breeding programs and reputations. JSG Trading Corp. Plaintiffs' evidence and arguments that they will suffer "possible" irreparable harm is of no legal moment. See, e. The breeders say I am possibly going out of business" emphasis added ; Hearing Transcript at 19, 77 same. After reviewing the Affidavits, the Court is not persuaded as a matter of fact that there is a likelihood of irreparable injury to Plaintiffs as opposed to a more remote possibility. The Court further finds that the evidence submitted does not reflect loss of goodwill or destruction of business sufficient to support a finding of likelihood of irreparable injury. There is no imminent threat to Plaintiffs' business as a whole as opposed to a temporary or partial disruption. See Jack Kahn Music, F. Plaintiffs' stock, by their own admission, will retain significant value. For example, Ms. Moreover, the Court concludes that Plaintiffs' Affidavits and arguments as well as statements of Plaintiffs' counsel demonstrate that Plaintiffs' damages, if any, are quantifiable in terms of lost future profits; thus, there is no irreparable injury necessitating preliminary injunctive relief. See Loveridge v. Pendleton, F. Additionally, here Plaintiffs seek to enjoin the use of the new standards, which are already in effect, and to restore the former standards. Movants, such as Plaintiffs, seeking a mandatory preliminary injunction, undoing the status quo, are subject to a heightened standard of proof. See SEC v. Unifund SAL, F. Plaintiffs have not met that heightened standard. See Reuters Ltd. United Press Int'l Inc. Nevertheless, the Court observes that the merits of Plaintiffs' claims, in particular their antitrust claims are, at best, weak. Plaintiffs' antitrust causes of action, as discussed above, are predicated upon an alleged conspiracy among Plaintiffs' competitors who are said to have caused LRC to recommend and AKC to adopt the Revised Standard. Neither the Complaint, nor the affidavits submitted in support of the instant motion, identify or refer to specific acts or activities suggesting any illegal agreement or concerted action by Defendants. Although reference is made to certain individuals connected with LRC and AKC, no concerted action is identified that would support a finding of illegal action. Moreover, the record is bereft of any evidence or allegation of illegal conduct by AKC. With respect to the balance of hardships, the Court observes that the relief requested by Plaintiffs would deprive Defendants of their ability to regulate the sport of purebred dogs and to define purebred conformity standards. Significantly, Defendants' experience and expertise in the area of purebred dogs is unchallenged. In the absence of a clear showing of irreparable injury and likelihood of success on the merits, the Court resists the suggestion that it should undertake to interfere with the conduct of the affairs of these sanctioning organizations and to substitute its judgment concerning matters affecting purebred dogs. Moreover, the Court finds that the relief requested by Plaintiffs, prior to an adverse determination on the merits, would pose hardship to Defendants and that their credibility as sanctioning organizations would be undermined. Courts have recognized that injury to a sanctioning body's authority and reputation is sufficient to deny injunctive relief. See Heldman v. Lawn Tennis Ass'n, F. But what if we told you there was a middle ground? Mixing wet and dry puppy foods can be an option worth considering, but it comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Wet food contributes to increased water intake, ensuring your furry friend stays well-hydrated. Allows you to provide a diverse array of nutrients, contributing to a balanced diet for your growing German Shepherd. Disadvantages Might make it trickier to regulate portion sizes accurately, potentially leading to overfeeding and weight issues. These diets exclude foods that have been cooked or processed in any way. There are also some advantages and disadvantages to feeding a German Shepherd puppy a raw food diet: Advantages Raw diets consist of uncooked, fresh ingredients that retain their natural nutrients, potentially promoting better health for your puppy. Some puppies with food sensitivities might find relief on a raw diet as it eliminates common allergens found in processed foods. Disadvantages Preparing a balanced raw diet requires careful planning to ensure your pup gets all the necessary nutrients in the right proportions. Raw diets carry a higher risk of bacterial contamination, potentially affecting both your pup and you. Sourcing high-quality ingredients and properly storing them can be costly and time-consuming. Homemade Diets For large breed puppies, like German Shepherds, homemade diets must be carefully formulated, just like commercial foods. To create a homemade diet recipe specifically for your dog, it is preferable to consult a veterinarian who holds a board certification in veterinary nutrition. Unfortunately, research has shown that many well-intentioned dog owners still overfeed or give their dogs an unbalanced diet, which can be harmful. German Shepherd care German Shepherd puppy diet: newborn For a German Shepherd puppy to develop and grow properly, it is imperative that they first nurse on their mother's milk. The first milk they receive is a protein and antibody-rich type of milk known as colostrum. This gives the puppy's immune and central nervous systems a boost. They then progress on to regular breast milk. Puppies will nurse for at least 6 to 8 weeks, gradually being weaned on to solid food at about 4 weeks. If, for any reason, the puppy cannot suckle its mother, don't give them cow or goat milk. These milks are very poor quality in comparison to a puppy's mother's milk. If your German shepherd puppy has to be prematurely weaned, a veterinarian will be able to prescribe specific infant formula and establish the appropriate dosage for your puppy. German Shepherd puppy diet: 1 month old From 3 to 4 weeks old, when it comes to feeding a German Shepherd puppy, we should start by letting them taste new foods and flavors. At this stage, the German Shepherd puppy's diet plan requires them to eat a special wet food for puppies. At around 6 to 8 weeks old, a German Shepherd puppy should be given a little dry dog food with water, or unseasoned chicken stock between nursing sessions. From their eighth week onward, a German Shepherd should be weaned and start feeding on solid food with a special puppy feed. The best dog food for a German Shepherd puppy is breed specific, but this may not be available everywhere. In these cases, your veterinarian can create a proper food plan for your German Shepherd puppy. At this stage, milk must be removed from the puppy's diet as it could cause diarrhea. German Shepherd puppy diet: 2 months old At two months of age, you can start to slowly decrease the moistening of your German Shepherd's dry food. Eventually, the puppy will be used to eating the food completely dry. Following the German Shepherd puppy food chart, from 2 until 4 months old, a puppy will eat 4 or 5 times a day. This has to be carried out with one very important addition: discipline. A puppy needs to learn that it will not be fed constantly throughout the day, but at specific times. We start of by placing a bowl of food down for 10 minutes, this should give the puppy enough time to finish its meal. After 10 minutes, we suggest taking the bowl of food away, even if your puppy hasn't finished eating. A puppy's food bowl must only be available to the dog for 10 minutes. This 10 minutes should be enough time for the puppy to eat all of its provided food. As already mentioned, after 10 minutes, you should take the food bowl away, even if the puppy hasn't finished eating. This pattern will introduce the puppy's food schedule and allow it an opportunity to become accustomed to particular feeding times. Accepting and adapting to a diet plan is very important for a puppy's intellectual development. It also facilitates more complex and demanding training sessions. German Shepherd puppy diet: after 6 months When your German Shepherd puppy reaches 6 months of age, its daily food intake should be reduced to twice a day. When we do this we can increase the food portions and eating time accordingly. German shepherd puppy: Dog food and water bowl hygiene Your puppy's food and drink containers should always be clean. Hygiene is very important in order to prevent the appearance of insects. There is now abundant information available to anyone who is willing and able to produce a safe and balanced diet. However, modern cases studies have shown that well-meaning owners may still over-feed or create an unbalanced diet. So, this is an area where you really can have too much of a good thing.
