At 6 weeks old I start individual crate training in short segments with each pup and we also start going on short car rides to introduce the car to the pups. At 7 weeks old we allow families to visit their puppies if they are able and at weeks old pups begin to leave for their new homes. In addition pups also have numerous fecal samples checked to ensure that there are no parasites present before they go to their new home. Evaluating our puppies' temperaments allows us to ensure that the pup's personality if a great fit for their future family and the goals that family has for their companion. While each has their own unique build and look, they all share common denominators. You can recognize most Bully breeds by their stout bodies and short muzzles. American Bulldogs, in particular, have developed quite a bit over time, branching off into other subgroups. When it comes to breeding for specific purposes, a single breed can take on different markings or body structures. The 5 Types of American Bulldogs 1. Johnson breeding lineage. These dogs were bred during the World War II era. They have a classic underbite and boxy skulls, giving them that distinct Bulldog look. This line is stout and heavy. Because of their broad, muscular bodies and short muzzles, they are often confused with other Bully breeds, such as the English Bulldog. They stand between 23 and 27 inches at the shoulder. They are incredibly protective and pleasing as household companions. Their low activity levels can often lead to laziness and obesity. They are friendly and even considered goofballs. They came into fruition as a cross between the Johnson American Bulldog and southern Bulldogs, like the White English. They are known as the standard or performance type because of their power and strength. This bloodline is much swifter and physically driven than the Johnsons. They are athletically built and have a longer muzzle. They also have long legs, making them tall and lean in stature. They are generally between 22 and 27 inches, at shoulder height. Because they were bred for work, they require a much more stimulating environment. These dogs are often confused with the American Pit Bull Terrier due to their similar body structure and temperament. Rather than sharing the classic underbite, this line has what is referred to as the reverse scissor bite. Scotts are better suited for individuals with active lifestyles. This typically involves being physically destructive with personal property. These physically capable dogs are made to fight and bred solely for this purpose. They are also considered a performance line, but for more sinister purposes. They were developed in the s by Joe Painter and several others. However, they began to thrive and rise in popularity over time, thinning out this defect. These dogs are stocky, responsive, and trainable. They weigh an average of 55 to 75 pounds. Poorly socialized, carelessly trained dogs are a high risk liability LIKELY to bite strangers in an effort to control them by forced herding and attack. Bulloxers are gentle and affectionate hybrid dogs known for their loyalty to their owner and family. However, they reach maturity at a slow pace and may behave like untrained puppies for years. The Bulloxers, which are also called the American Boxerbulls, can live for about nine to twelve years or even longer. Bulloxers are large and muscular dogs. Bulldog Shepherd puppies are hard to find because only the Dog Registry of America recognizes this hybrid-dog. You will need a brush that can comb through thick and long hair for its weekly grooming. When untrained, the dog loves to play biting games, which might feel unsafe for owners and their families. The American Bulldog Beagle sheds heavily, but its short coat makes it easy for owners to groom. And she's the best watchdog of all the girls in the litter. Gentlemen, if you've agreed with someone to get a female, actually wanting a male for a bit more proactive watchdogging, this girl is for you, the good Lord apparently granting you the perfect compromise. Mellow and sweet, but also a stand up girl. As it is, she still looks a lot like her mom, a very dark mahogany brindle, and same extra mellow temperament. And I'm telling you, this girl wants to learn to do tricks for you, a true look-at-me performer. She's smart and really does want to perform. Set up a social media page for her, teach her a new cool trick every week, and she'll soon have more followers than many humans. It's in no way a health issue, just a show dog thing, and you don't generally even see it but in a few positions. Smart like all the others. Handler focused like all the others. But she really, really wants to lay with someone on the couch. If you had another lonely dog, perfect match. If you like sleeping with your dogs, perfect match. If you want a dog to sleep with a child, perfect match. However, where they are all very smart, this girl is the smartest. I mean she was watching tv as if she understood the movie plot when she was 4 weeks old, as all her brothers and sisters just looked around wondering where the wierd noises were coming from. She'd make a simply fantastic therapy or hospice dog with little to no effort, and you could train her for anything. I've caught her watching human conversations closely, clearly trying to pick up on English, and she soon will. She's also the largest of the females with slightly more masculine features, so again, guys, if you were secretly wanting a male, here's a legitimatley good compromise.
