During our days as a foster we raised two litters of puppies , but both were already weeks old by the time we got them home. I kept the hemostat on the cord for about 2 minutes to let it clout. The umbilical cord dries up quickly and then within a day or 2 it falls off. Raven was a good mama and took care of her poops.
