Despite his situation, he was in good spirits and started to show improvements in his legs, so the team decided to move forward with finding a treatment path for him. An MRI and assessment revealed that Henry's injuries, while extensive, were operable, and the orthopedic surgeon believed that they could save all Henry's limbs! Since then, Henry has had several therapies, including new water therapy, and he is healing! Henry is a sweet boy who is the definition of a champ! Henry arrived in Minnesota finally in January, since then he has been being seen at the University of Minnesota Veterinary medical clinic. They are too intelligent to outright obey everything which can sometimes be perceived as stubborn. Does that mean the German Shepherd is not smart? Absolutely not. In fact, the German Shepherd is often cited as one of the smartest dog breeds, right after their cousin the Belgian Shepherd, also known as Malinois. Their will to please outranks. How trainable is the German Shepherd Husky mix? Well, the Husky is known to be quite independent by design. So even though pairing these two very smart dog breeds makes sense at first glance, a Shepherd Husky mix might not be as easy to train as imagined. That being said, pairing a German Shepherd with a more agreeable Husky can certainly help. Genetics and temperament of the parents always play a pretty big role. This is not always the case and even a purebred may struggle with protection without proper direction and training. Hundreds of golden retrievers gathered at the Scottish Highlands Thursday to celebrate the breed's th anniversary, BBC News reported. The four-day anniversary event , held every five years, was organized by the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland at the ruins of Guisachan House, where the dogs were first bred. The event was marked with talks, training workshops, a picnic and a night-time procession. Hundreds of golden retrievers from a dozen countries But the best part was the hundreds of dogs and their owners from across the world in attendance. Golden retrievers from more than 12 countries including Canada, the U. Pictures and videos circulating on social media are from Thursday's "The Gathering" event, which included games such as haggis hurling, tug of war, scurry and the Grand old Duke of York to count the number of Goldens present. This involves handling neonatal puppies in a variety of positions in order to help stimulate and develop their neurological systems, increase stress tolerance, promote stronger heart beats, immune systems and adrenal glands. We have also started baby nose work on our puppies. Puppies with the most aptitude may be available to homes looking for service dogs for diabetes, epilepsy, search and rescue etc. Puppies receive different activities that are a part of the Puppy Culture Program. These activities are based on the age of the puppy versus their development. Those puppies that have rear dew claws will have them removed by our vet, we do leave front dew claws on our shepherd puppies. We invite those that have deposits on puppies to come to the 6 week vet check. There is a lot that goes into raising our puppies so that they make perfect companions! Parents of our puppies have appropriate health certifications including more than just hip and elbows. Our parents often have shoulders, PennHIP, eyes, heart and other certifications. Parents of our puppies often have Top Show Championship titles and recognitions as well as performance titles. I do work with newbies. You can contact me for details. I accept deposits on litters once the litter is born so I know I have proper gender and color I may not know coat length until the litter is weeks of age or if gene testing is done. If you are close and have filled out the questionnaire, you can come and visit the litter and leave a deposit. Those further out should consider Priority mail or Overnight. I do encourage you to come and visit the litter and socialize with the puppies. I allow people to come over as long as they have not visited another litter, dog show, stable, farm, zoo, rescue etc within a week of coming over to visit this litter to keep potential diseases out of my home. I am sorry, but I do not ship puppies. You must come to pick up your puppy. I have had a person as far as New Mexico drive in to pick up his puppy, and one couple came in three times for three different puppies over the years from Massachusetts. You also have the option to fly in and take the puppy back with you in a Sherpa bag.I have had people fly in and take puppies back in Sherpa bags from as far west at Washington and California, as far east as Maine, and as far south as Georgia.
