This one-stop shop shampoo and conditioner is from the renowned Earthbath who make great all natural pet products. Ingredients: The Mango-Tango is made up of purified water alongside a variety of plant-derived cleansers and conditioners. It contains aloe vera, Vitamins A, B, D and E, as well as glycerine, natural preservatives and mango essence. The mango scent is really refreshing. It lathers and rinses out easily. Why we recommend it: Again, you can always feel confident with Earthbath products and that you are using all-natural ingredients and there is nothing in the formula that might be harmful to your dog. And it still works! Why Use Dog Shampoo Products? There are 2 major reasons to avoid using human shampoo on your dog: Skin pH levels: Human shampoo tends to be marginally acidic in order to best clean our skin, which has a pH somewhere between 5. Dogs, on the other hand, have an alkaline skin pH of up to 7. Sensitive skin: Dogs are generally much more sensitive than humans as their skin only has between layers, in comparison to humans with layers. As such, our skin can take more of a battering from harsh products and chemicals while your dog will be more easily irritated. Such irritation leads to dryness, scratching and abrasions. If you do have to bathe your dog with human products — perhaps in a particularly smelly emergency with no pet products at hand — try to opt for mild formulations used on babies and children. This means asking what kind of coat they have, and what kind of additional care their skin and coat might need. Do they have a short coat, long coat, a double coat? Is it dry or oily? Dogs with short coats often just need a shampoo, while long hair and double coats benefit from conditioner to help with detangling and repair after brushing. But at the same time, if your dog has an oily coat, you will want to skip the conditioner as it will just exacerbate the problem. How is their skin? Is it sensitive, prone to allergies, already red and sore due to other problems? If your dog has sensitive skin, you are going to want to avoid products that may exacerbate the problem and maybe go for a hypoallergenic shampoo. You may also want to look for products with soothing ingredients for the skin, such as oatmeal or Aloe Vera. You may then also want to look for products that might help with any ongoing issues your pup has. Do they shed a lot? Some shampoos can help with that. Do they often get fleas? You can get shampoos that also have repelling qualities. Do they have a particular problem with body odor? There are shampoos out there that specialize in deodorizing. For an overview of Labrador grooming needs, check out our complete guide. Once you determine what kind of shampoo you need, you can then look at the products themselves. There are a few key characteristics to look out for. Characteristics Of Good Dog Shampoos And Conditioners pH Level The skin and hair of dogs have a neutral pH level, and so as not to cause damage to their coat, their shampoo and conditioner should also have a neutral pH. Look for shampoos that have a pH level near 7, which is neutral. For that reason, good dog shampoos should work to neutralize odors rather than simply mask smells with fragrances. You will know if your dog is not a fan of the smell of their shampoo or conditioner if they like to rub against things a lot after bathing. This is them trying to rub off the unwelcome smell. Natural Ingredients Just as it is true for humans, harsh chemicals absorbed through the skin can harm dogs. Dangerous chemicals should be avoided by choosing products made from all-natural ingredients. Key ingredients to avoid include phthalates, formaldehyde, isothiazolinones, and nitrosamines. Skin-Protecting Additives Just as you can buy shampoos and skin cleansers that promise to hydrate your skin and keep it looking fresh, dog shampoos will often include skin-protecting additives such as oatmeal, Aloe Vera, or vitamin E that is designed to moisturize skin and keep coats shiny. Medicated Shampoos If your dog has specific skin conditions, there may be a shampoo out there specially formulated to help. Identifying these usually requires consultation with your vet. Look out for shampoos that can help with parasitic or fungal infections, skin allergies, or seborrhea. Medicated shampoos are much more likely to include unnatural ingredients than standard shampoos, for good reason. They need these ingredients to do their job effectively. But there are a few ingredients to be wary of in particular, avoid anything that contains alcohol, as it can sting the skin and eyes. If you are looking for a medicated shampoo for fleas, check out our list of the seven best dog flea shampoos. The open hair follicles can also allow oils to escape and let contaminants enter the follicle, again, compromising their strength and integrity. Conditioner seals the hair follicles, locking in oils and protecting the hair from breakages. But whether your dog really needs conditioner depends on their coat. However, it is probably best to avoid conditioners for dogs with oily coats, as it can just make them even more oily and unpleasant to touch. Dogs with long coats and double coats that require a lot of grooming benefit from the use of a conditioner. When choosing a conditioner, you should look for similar characteristics to a shampoo: Neutral pH balance All-natural ingredients and no chemicals or additives Fragrance-free or only lightly fragranced. Bathing Your Dog Bath time with your four-legged friend is not just about choosing the right product; it is also about using it correctly. This means washing your dog with the correct frequency and in just the right way. How often you need to bathe your dog will vary from breed to breed and also depends on their individual lifestyle and habits. If your dog gets smelly in between full shampoo baths, opt for a simple plain water rinse in between. Dogs that spend more time indoors and rarely get dirty will require less regular baths. Depending on how smelly they get, a bath somewhere between every 2 to 3 months would be about right. Double-coated breeds, such as Labs, should really only be bathed every three months — or even less often — unless they get particularly smelly. Their oily double coats will dry out from too much shampooing, depleting the insulating, protective properties and waterproofing their coat has. Just as with humans, shampooing too often has a tendency to dry out the skin and hair, leading to irritation, scratching and in extreme cases maybe even lesions. The best way to prolong time between baths and keep your dog looking healthy and clean is to commit to a daily brushing schedule. Unlike humans who breathe in allergens, dogs absorb them through their skin. This can lead to irritation, scratching and eventually — in extreme cases — lesions. Tips For How to Bathe Your Dog You could just carelessly bundle your pooch into the bath, get them wet, lather, rinse and repeat. But of course, the best results come with a little planning. Before bathing, brush your dog to remove any tangles and debris caught in their hair. Prepare the room for bath time by assembling products ready to use, laying down towels or waterproof sheets and keeping treats on hand to reward good behavior. If they need to be restrained, use a muzzle or a specialist bathing tether. Introduce them to the water slowly by spraying their backs first and keeping the power on low, allowing them to get used to the sensation. Use a soft brush in the direction of hair growth to best lather in the shampoo and avoid any tangles. Use the brush again to gently clean the paw pads. Rinse thoroughly by wetting the head and face first before working your way down the rest of their body. Keep rinsing until the water runs clear. At this point, some owners choose to use a specialist dog conditioner to seal the hair cuticle and keep the coat shiny and full of moisture. Once all shampoo and conditioners have been washed out, lift your dog out of the bath and wrap them in an absorbent towel. Avoid rubbing them dry as this can tangle their hair; blot the coat instead. They will probably want to shake themselves dry too. Make sure your dog stays in the warm until they are completely dry. The best shampoo and conditioner for your dog depends on the type of coat and skin that they have. For example, short-haired dogs with a relatively oily coat will do best with a standard shampoo, while dogs with long hair that needs a lot of brushing benefit from a conditioner. Dogs with sensitive skin can benefit from a hypoallergenic formula, while dogs that spend a lot of time in the great outdoors need a heavy-duty formula. But whichever shampoo you go for, try to choose something all natural that does not include any chemicals or additives that might hurt your dog. Earthbath does a wide range of shampoos and conditioners made from all-natural ingredients. They are gentle products ideal for most dogs, but you might want something stronger when dealing with a very dirty pooch. This is because the pH level of human hair and skin and dog skin and hair is different. Dogs are neutral while humans are acidic. This is why it is better to use a special dog shampoo, which has a neutral pH ideal for dogs. While it is preferable to use dog shampoo on dogs rather than any variety of human shampoo, baby shampoo is safe for dogs. It is fine to use human shampoo on your dog as a one-off, though make sure it does not get into their eyes. How often you should wash your dog depends on both their breed and their lifestyle. Dogs with longer hair are more likely to trap dirt and debris in their coat, and outdoor dogs need bathing more often than indoor dogs. As a general rule of thumb, consider bathing your dog every four to six weeks. It is only necessary to use a small amount of shampoo when bathing your dog, as the lathering effect allows it to expand and cover your dog completely. If you use excess shampoo, it can be difficult to thoroughly rinse. Exactly how much depends on the size of your dog and the thickness of their coat. Start with a small amount and add more as needed. Final Thoughts While the right shampoo and conditioner for your dog depends on them — their breed, type of coat, skin condition, and sensitivities — just remember that the right shampoo for them is not your shampoo! Dogs have very different needs, which is why they have their own products. It can also be nice to choose something that contains natural skin-soothing products such as oatmeal and Aloe Vera. All of their products are all-natural and designed to be gentle enough for frequent use. Why not get a special conditioner for dogs? It conditions well, washes out easily, and does not weigh hair down. However, we selected them for inclusion independently, and all of the views expressed in this article are our own. Coat Type And Condition Labradors have a unique double coat consisting of a dense, soft undercoat that insulates them from cold weather and an outer water-resistant layer. This distinctive fur requires specialized care to maintain its health. One common issue among Labrador retrievers is shedding — they are notorious shedders! Regular grooming , including brushing and bathing with the right shampoo, can help manage this problem. For example, some shampoos, like Labs, are designed for breeds with double coats. These can penetrate both layers for thorough cleansing without stripping away natural oils. Besides keeping their coat looking sleek and shiny, using such products may reduce shedding by removing loose excess hair during bath time. If they have dry or itchy skin, opt for hypoallergenic or oatmeal-based formulas, which are gentle on sensitive skin. Skin Sensitivity Or Allergies This is quite common for this breed. Like humans, dogs can react adversely to certain ingredients found in shampoos. Consider hypoallergenic dog shampoos with aloe vera or oatmeal to minimize the risk. Oatmeal shampoo is an excellent option as it helps soothe dry skin while relieving inflammation caused by allergies. Remember that not all dog shampoos are created equal. Some contain chemicals or artificial fragrances, which could exacerbate or create new sensitivities. Look for dog shampoos containing ingredients like neem, cedarwood, or rosemary extract, known to repel fleas and ticks. Some shampoos also include topical flea treatments built-in, which provide an extra layer of protection against these pesky parasites. However, they may not completely eliminate them if your dog already has an infestation. Use additional flea and tick treatments as your veterinarian recommends in those cases. Go only for natural ingredients such as colloidal oatmeal, almond oil, or aloe vera-based dog shampoos with no chemical dyes or fragrances. Factors such as coat type and condition, skin sensitivity or allergies, and parasite prevention should be considered. For example, if your dog has itchy skin, y opt for a natural oatmeal shampoo that soothes irritated skin. Another thing to remember when selecting the right shampoo for your Lab is their age. Puppies require gentler tear-free shampoos, while adult dogs may benefit from shampoos that contain nourishing oils like coconut. Look for shampoos made with all-natural ingredients such as aloe vera, oatmeal, and essential oils like mint or coconut oil. Chemicals in some shampoos can exacerbate skin conditions like dryness or itching. Before choosing the best shampoo for your Labrador, consult with your veterinarian. They can also advise on any special requirements or allergies that must be considered when selecting a pet shampoo. Additionally, if other shampoos have caused an allergic reaction, your vet may suggest switching to a hypoallergenic dog shampoo like Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Dog Shampoo. Do Labradors need a special shampoo? Labradors have sensitive skin, which makes them prone to skin allergies and infections. Therefore, it is best to use a specially formulated shampoo designed for dogs with sensitive skin. Mild, soap-free, hypoallergenic shampoo can help prevent skin irritation and allergies. How often should a Labrador be bathed? Bathe your Labrador once monthly or once every months. Overbathing can strip their coat of natural oils and lead to dry, itchy skin. Do Labradors need shampoo and conditioner? No, it is not necessary, but it keeps the coat soft and shiny. If you choose to use a conditioner, make sure it is specifically designed for dogs and is free from harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances. What do Labradors love the most? Labradors are known for their love of food and playtime. They also love spending time with their owners and going for walks or runs. Can I bathe my Labrador every day? No, it is not recommended to bathe your Labrador every day. How do I dry my Labrador after a bath? After bathing your Labrador, gently towel dry its coat and use a hairdryer on a low setting to finish drying its coat. Ensure not to use high heat, which can damage their skin and coat. Why do dogs lick you? Dogs lick their owners as a way of showing affection and love. It is also natural for dogs to lick themselves and others to clean themselves or show submission. Do dogs feel better after a bath? Yes, dogs can feel better after a bath, especially if they have been itching or have a skin condition. Bathing can help soothe their skin and relieve any discomfort. Do dogs like warm or cold baths? Most dogs prefer warm bath s, as cold water can be uncomfortable. However, ensure the water is not too hot, which can burn their skin. Is it OK to feed a dog once a day? Feed adult dogs twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. However, the feeding frequency can vary depending on age, health, and activity level. What Is Anti Shedding Shampoo? It typically contains ingredients that help to loosen the dead hair and make it easier to brush out. Here are some ways to deshed your dog at home: Brush your dog regularly. This is the most important thing you can do to control shedding. Brushing helps to remove loose hair and distribute natural oils throughout the coat, which can help to prevent matting and tangles. Use a deshedding tool. Various deshedding tools are available, such as a Furminator or a shedding rake. These tools can help to remove even more loose hair than brushing alone. Bathe your dog regularly. Bathing your dog helps to remove dirt, debris, and loose hair. Feed your dog a healthy diet. Consider using supplements. Several supplements can help to reduce shedding, such as omega-3 fatty acids and biotin. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best way to stop your dog from shedding so fast will vary depending on the individual dog. However, some things you can try include: Brushing your dog regularly.

Scroll down for LIVE puppy cams! However, if mama needs a little help, we are very close by monitoring the process to assist removing the sac or stimulating a puppy to breathe. When mama has finished her clean up, we remove puppy for a quick weight, add an ID collar, and treat the umbilical stump with a disinfectant. For the first few days after birth, we practically have to drag mama away from her babies to get her to go out to potty. After the first few days, mama begins to leave the puppies for brief periods of time—usually she lies just outside the box on the cool floor—she needs an occasional break from the higher temperature that is so necessary for her babies. We also have a heating pad area the puppies can choose to move to if they need more warmth when mama is away. Puppies are little heat seeking missiles—they have heat sensors on the sides of their noses. This heat seeking instinct guides them to mama to nurse, to each other to puppy pile and to warm areas in their nest. We also add one additional step by presenting the puppies with a new scent stimulation daily. This series of brief, specific exercises we perform are in addition to our normal daily handling of the puppies as we weigh them, trim toenails, move them to clean their area, etc. One Week Old: The puppies continue to spend all their time nursing or sleeping. During this week, we give them their first toenail trim and continue to weigh each puppy two-three times a day. We monitor weight gain carefully, since that is our first indication that a puppy might need a little extra boost of supplemental formula. Puppies generally double their weight in their first week of life! These rails originated on farms to protect piglets—hence the name pig rail. Puppies often gravitate to the outer edges of the box and wedge themselves down in a corner. Since mama is spending most of her time in the box with her babies all around her, she often leans back against the walls and falls deeply asleep as she recovers from her labor and delivery. The rail stops her from crushing or smothering a baby that has burrowed in behind her along the edge. We remove the rails when the puppies are about three weeks old and are strong enough to raise a ruckus if they get trapped. Towards the end of the first week, we see their eyelids begin to become more defined and separate, and their eyelashes grow longer. By the beginning of the second week, the eyes are starting to open in the inner corner and working to the outer corner of the eyes. By days old, their eyes will be open. Two Weeks Old: The puppies eyes are all open now and their ears will be opening in the next few days. At this age puppies do not experience fear, so the startle is not fear driven. In these next few weeks before they begin experiencing fear around weeks of age, we will mildly stress them with noises to build their recovery response. We are carefully watching the intensity of the startle and the speed of recovery—our goal is to elicit a very mild startle followed by a rapid recovery. By repeating the noise several times in a row, the startle response will diminish and go away and the recovery will become immediate. This will help the puppies be stable to new sounds and experiences as they grow into adult dogs. The puppies continue to gain weight at a remarkable rate—often several ounces a day. Mama is still stimulating puppies to potty and cleaning up completely after—she keeps the nest fastidiously clean. Their awareness of their surroundings is awakening. We start enriching their environment during this week—we generally remove the whelping box at this point to give them more room to explore, adding soft toys to give texture to their area. We place potty pads at the back of their area for the beginning of potty training, and we help define that potty area by adding sleeping beds, changing the bedding in the main area of their pen several times a day and leaving the soiled pads in the potty area. The puppies will gradually begin to follow the scent to the specific potty area, and in a matter of weeks they will regularly go to the designated potty area to eliminate. Four-Six Weeks Old: During these weeks we continue to add enrichment items to their area and also expand their area as they show signs of needing more room to move and explore. The puppies become more stable on their legs and start to interact with one another, play bowing, barking at one another, and noticing us. We have continued the weekly toenail trims and daily handling—touching paws, ears, body. At this time we increase our interactions with the puppies and spend more individual time with them. As the puppies continue to wake up and become more aware over the next several weeks, we will start our clicker training exercises, following our Puppy Culture protocols. Although the puppies are still nursing, during this time they are introduced to food. We start them with puppy formula, gradually adding in raw lamb and baby rice cereal, then softened kibble and diminishing the formula. Mama dog is usually tired of sharp teeth nursing and she pushes the puppies to weaning. She no longer lies down to nurse and only spends brief times in the pen with them cleaning them and checking on them—then out she jumps to lie just out of reach, keeping an eye on things, but no longer feeling as protective. At this point, she is fine to let the other older dogs interact with her babies, and she happily rejoins her guardian family once her puppies are eating solid food on their own. Seven-Nine Weeks Old: Weather permitting, puppies are introduced to the outside area through the doggy door and discover a whole new world of running, larger toys and obstacles, wind, sun, rain, the chickens, etc. Such fun times they have outside! They become proficient at diving through the doggy door, in and out all day. In the warmer months, we have a wading pool for them to play in, in fall and winter they chase leaves, dodge rain drops, and play in rain puddles. We welcome visitors once the puppies are six weeks old, and the puppies love meeting children, teens, and adults. At about eight weeks of age we do our temperament and structure evaluations and veterinarian check up. The big day arrives all too quickly that we make puppy allocations and at nine weeks old our puppies head off to new horizons, adventures, and wonderful lives with YOU! All rights reserved. If you click and purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. However, the downside of Doodles being increasingly available is that there are a lot of people out there looking to take advantage of those not familiar with how it all works. This article will detail some things to be on the lookout for when checking out Goldendoodle breeders in Washington. We have also included some recommendations, based on research and reviews, for the best breeding facilities in the state. Hopefully, this information will help you with picking out the newest member of your family. Not only are there a whole host of tricksters out there waiting to take your money, but there are also multitudes of extremely low-quality breeding centers and puppy mills about. Here profit is prioritized over the health and wellbeing of the animals. Puppies are churned out as quickly as possible, meaning dogs are frequently overbred. They are rarely tested for the genetic conditions that could be passed along to their offspring. Moreover, these places cut costs at every corner, so the dogs and their puppies are fed the lowest quality food and generally just not given a very happy life. The result… sickly, poorly socialized, and miserable puppies. Luckily, organizations are popping up across the country committed to best practices for breeding these cuddly canines. If a breeder is certified with these guys, then you know they are good. Ensure Appropriate Health Checks Haphazard breeding can cause many problems for dogs — mainly because there are a lot of hereditary conditions that can be passed on from parent to pup. These days many breeding facilities provide their health check information right up front. Breeders who are reluctant to share details with you are unlikely to be on the up and up. After all, not all canine conditions are apparent from birth. For more on issues that can plague Goldendoodles take a look at our article Doodle Health Issues and Diseases. Look For a Health Guarantee A health guarantee should be given as a standard as part of the purchase contract. Most facilities now offer a month health guarantee. These ones are clearly very confident about their pups. Just make sure you read the fine print to see what is included. If in doubt, speak with a veterinarian. They will be able to help you cut through any jargon. While some websites may not be the most reliable, there are plenty of great ones out there such as this one offering up some really helpful stuff. So, make good use of them. Expert sites, review articles, and social media can all be great for helping you track down the best breeder in your area. Just make sure the information comes from a reputable source. For instance, if you get a tip from a Doodle forum, check out the reviews too. This brings us to our final point: Read Online Reviews These days reviews really do make the world go round. People check reviews before many key purchases. They often even place a high value on ones they find on the internet. You can find some really great information out there as long as you know what to look out for. You can start here at Doodle Doods to look for reviews. After all, these can be pretty easy to fabricate. The more comments you can find about a breeder, the better — it would take a lot of effort to make up masses of fake ones. For more in-depth coverage of what to look for when selecting a breeder, check out our dedicated article, How To Choose A Responsible Breeder. Their breeding dogs, who are valued members of the family, are thoroughly health tested. This includes genetic health testing, diversity testing, OFA hips, eyes, and heart testing. What Makes This Breeder Unique? The small, family-run operation is thoroughly invested in the health and wellbeing of their dogs and the puppies they breed. They are committed to raising awareness of the importance of using health-tested, well-adjusted dogs and continuously striving to improve their breeding operations. Location: Ferndale, Washington Choosing the Best Goldendoodle Breeder How do you find the best Goldendoodle breeders in Washington when the market is full of puppy mills? You assess the criteria they use to breed their puppies. Any humane and ethical animal breeding process starts with thorough genetic testing to protect puppies from inheriting known genetic conditions from their parents. They keep track of their breeders and offspring to prevent in-breeding and the problems that come with it. In addition, ethical breeders take care of their breeders and puppies. They keep them clean and safe and provide veterinary care and immunization as required. Ethical breeders also retire their breeders after they reach a certain age, usually around 7. At this point, the breeder is spayed or neutered to prevent further reproduction and keep them healthy. One key differentiating factor between ethical breeders and puppy mills is their focus on quality instead of quantity. Ethical breeders care about their dogs, therefore, treat them as members of their own families. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. Yes, email me when puppies become available. Message sent. You are shopping for a puppy. Why buy from Idaho We sell a lot of our goldendoodle puppies to the Seattle area. Usually our prices are lower than Washington's. This is due totally to location and local demand. Idaho is still very small. The puppy featured in this photo lives in Seattle with a couple of his siblings! You can occasionally see their updates on our Facebook page. We are excited about Seattle because it is only a short plane trip for our puppies. Most of our Seattle prospect families are great situations for our puppies. As reputable goldendoodle breeders, we really care where our puppies go and how they will be treated. It takes thought and preparation to be ready for a new puppy and the commitment of their lifetime. We have enjoyed the relationships we've had with our Seattle goldendoodle puppy families, and we look forward to more. Please send us an application if you'd like more info on our cute puppies. We breed for health, temperament and blocky builds. Did you know that your new puppy is less than an hour flight away from Seattle Washington? Choose us for our top quality, consistent litters, stunning looks, best health quality, high socialization and off to the best start possible. We are a real business with full-time commitment. We have a puppy nanny that can deliver, or my brother lives in Gig Harbor and I love to come see him for the day. The flight with puppy is in-cabin and only 1 hour long. The puppy goes to sleep in my arms as soon as the plane engine starts, and wakes up an hour later ready to come into your arms! We also have partnered up with several other high quality breeders that raise mini goldendoodle pups that meet our strict genetic criteria and testing. So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. My family adores him. Norma made the entire process seamless! Meeting her and her husband and seeing the hard work and love they put into these dogs was amazing. So thankful for all they do for these puppies and our new family member Mango! This is Mango smiling after a bath. They made sure as first time puppy owner I was ready, keeping me updated on her health, as I waited for pickup date. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a goldendoodle, or bernedoodle. Michelle Schmidt Shruti and Ryan Super Impressed I have purchased quite a few puppies in my 76 years but I have to say I am super impressed with the breeders of Mountain Meadow puppies. The entire facility was immaculate and you could tell the dogs are well loved and taken care of. I had lost my 14 year old Goldendoodle to cancer the week before contacting this facility and was worried. But our little Violette is brimming with personality, smart as a whip, healthy and she gets along great with our mastiff and 75 pound Goldendoodle as well as our 2 cats. I highly recommend Norma and her amazing operation. She is so gentle and intelligent. She slept through the night from the first night. She loves toys that are a challenge and to play fetch. She struggles a bit with housetraining. We still have a foot of snow in our yard and she would rather play than do what needs to be done, but we are getting there. Patience, consistency, and kindness really pay off with these guys. Love this girl! I hope you and your family are well! Wonderful Experience! We had a wonderful experience adopting our sweet mini Goldendoodle from Mountain Meadow Puppies! Norma was absolutely amazing! She was prompt in messaging me back and answering any questions that I had. We are beyond smitten over our sweet Benny???? Tara Ball Happy 1st. Birthday, Maya! You are such a blessing to our family! The small size of our program allows our Labradoodles and Sheepadoodles to be a part of our everyday home life and not be kept in kennels. It also provides an opportunity for puppies to socialize, be nurtured, and be loved. Our puppies are socialized with people, children, and other pets. Our diligent work with young puppies contributes to an easy transition into their forever homes. At Texas Australian Labradoodles, we keep the Labradoodle and Sheepadoodle puppy adoption experience as pleasant and comfortable for you as possible. At Texas Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles, we produce 4th generation Australian Labradoodles or later generations we do not have any of the early generation Labradoodles as their temperament, coat, and comfortation can be very unpredictable. Our Doodles are selectively bred for many generations to produce allergy-friendly, intelligent, easy to train puppies with gentle temperaments and exceptional beauty. Their coat is non-shedding and odor-free and works well with allergy sufferers. Our labradoodles are loved and well-socialized, which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children and homes that have other pets. Our Doodles are also perfect candidates for service, therapy, and companion dogs due to their intelligence as well as gentle and affectionate disposition. Our Australian Sheepadoodles are carefully bred by pairing our fabulous Old English Sheepdogs and extraordinary Multigenerational Australian Labradoodles. We are the only breeders that have paired these incredible breeds to create astonishing puppies who consistently deliver allergy-friendly silky coats, calm temperaments, and overall great confirmation. Our Doodles are loved and well-socialized which makes them perfect dogs for families with young children, first time pet owners, and families with other pets. However, our small size ensures that we are able to pay close attention to each of our Doodle puppies to ensure that they get the stimulation and the attention to reach their developmental milestones. Simply put, there are no puppies left behind at Texas Australian Labradoodles and Australian Sheepadoodles. The public is slowly recognizing the value of smaller programs that do not mill their puppies and a handful of Australian Labradoodle Breeders in the US are following our footsteps and cutting the number of adult doodles in their program so that they do not have to be housed in kennels. Although all puppies are beautiful and can enrich the life of any family through their unique personality, we love the Australian Labradoodle and Australian Sheepadoodle puppies! We want to help and give your family a lifetime of sweet memories to warm your heart. If you are looking for kid-friendly, loyal, and easy to train pets or therapy dogs, please check out our therapy dogs for sale and our affordable puppies for sale! Contact How to Train an American Bulldog: Beginners Guide Training any dog, no matter the age takes patience and discipline for both you and your dog. While you may think you need to wait until they are older to train them, it is actually better for your dog to start training as early as weeks. The earlier you introduce a schedule and regular routines, the easier it will be for you as they grow and adapt to normal life changes. The first year can be difficult and frustrating, but understand that you are building a foundation for the behavior you desire for the rest of their life. How to Train an American Bulldog? You will need to stay calm and show no aggression as the bulldog will mimic you or become defensive. Start by clearly saying the command you wish to teach. Demonstrate the command, or show your dog how. For example, if you are teaching your bulldog to sit, gently push down on his behind while holding your arm underneath his front legs until they are in a sitting position. Give positive reinforcements such as a treat. Repeat this process a few times, or until your American bulldog looses interest. This may take a few training sessions. Be patient and calm with your American bulldog while teaching commands. We will discuss commands they should be able to learn based on age and when to start incorporating more training and socialization. Training By Stages When training your American bulldog, you have to be prepared to teach them in stages. Attempting to train them on several skills all at once will be too much for the dog to learn and will only result in you and them becoming very frustrated. For your dog to successfully learn skills well and for maximum retention, you have to space out their training through their first year. You want to start with simple things and slowly progress to harder, more complex ideas and tricks. Potty Training your American Bulldog Puppy A good place to start training is obviously potty training during this early stage for your American Bulldog. Best practices would be: Expect to take an American bulldog to the potty every mins for the first few weeks until they start getting control of their bladder. Remember to be patient during this time. Try to keep them on hard surfaces if possible while indoors to make cleaning any accidents up easy. It will take a few weeks for an American bulldog puppy to pick up the habit. But continue to demonstrate positive reinforcement to encourage proper behavior while the puppy gets a hang of this new routine and learns how to control their bladder. Also be mindful that during this infancy stage, the American bulldog puppy will also need to be fed more frequently due to rapid growth and exertion of energy. This is normal to expect at this time of their life. If your puppy knows how their day will go, they can prepare for things and learn how to wait for food and bathroom breaks. You will need to be completely focused on this routine. Try not to plan any trips or big events during this time. While you may have different schedules every day, try to keep it consistent as much as you can. Try to wake up around the same time and go to bed around the same time so everything in between can be consistent as well. This will help your dog eat and sleep well for the rest of their lives when starting this routine early. You, of course, want to start simple and work your way into harder things. As you begin to train your puppy, keep in mind that they are very young and their energy levels are high for short periods of time, they will get tired quickly. You also need to remember that they do not know how to act in any situation, and it is your job to teach them; this is why you are training them. See also Are Iguanas Dangerous to Cats? Investigating the Risks of Owning an Iguana as a Pet Socialization As early as you can, find friends that have small dogs or puppies that you can regularly get together with, so your dog can learn how to act around other animals. Your dog will learn better social skills when they are commonly around the same few animals rather than random interactions. Early socialization will help your dogs learn that other animals and humans are generally not a threat. It will be easier to show your puppy this, at this young stage, when they are still learning and exploring their environment. American bulldogs are large and strong, so it is important to teach them not to jump on or lunge at other people and animals. This will also allow you to ensure the dogs that you pick will treat your dog well rather than fearing aggression issues. When owners and new friends are calm, your puppy will be in a better state to learn and explore. This will create such a good atmosphere for you and others whenever you come in contact with other animals. Grooming Preparation American bulldogs need consistent cleaning. Due to the regularity that this needs to happen, you need to get your dog used to grooming. You can simply get them used to you touching their face and petting gently in the early ages. Once they are used to that, add in a wet towel or paper towel and slowly start the grooming process. American bulldogs are easier to clean than English bulldogs because they have less wrinkles and more flexibility to clean themselves. For a quick tutorial on grooming, you can check out our YouTube video where I demonstrate a full grooming of our English bulldog, Daisy. You can begin teaching your dog basic commands once they hit six months or earlier if you feel like they are ready for it. Some basic commands to start teaching your dog are: Sit. The goal is to show your dog that all people and pets should be engaged with calmly and respectfully. This is a very dominant breed and so you should take the time to socialize it early to avoid that behavior as much as possible. Socialization will help the dog develop an even temper. This is an important part of raising an American Bulldog. Without socialization, your new dog may be suspicious of all new people and animals, which can lead to unwanted behaviors, such as biting. You can socialize your dog by taking it to public areas and allowing it to have positive experiences with new people and pets. If at a dog park, slowly introduce your dog to the other dogs and people around you while still on the leash. If your dog seems to be friendly, comfortable, and welcomes the interaction, praise it for its good behavior and gradually allow more interaction off-leash and in larger areas. If visiting a breeder to pick out a pup, there are some specific things to look for that can indicate socialization has already begun. Observe how the puppy interacts with its littermates as well as its parents. A shy, withdrawn, or overly cautious pup is probably not well socialized and has not been exposed to a lot of different situations. Remember that when you get a dog you want to avoid bad breeding situations, for example puppy mills. Not only do unethical breeders have inhumane conditions for their dogs and usually inbreed them, but they do not do the early training and socializing of their dogs that is imperative to raising a well-adjusted dog. Each dog will develop their social skills at their own speed, so go as slow as needed. As your dog becomes more socialized and comfortable with new things, you will see that it develops an overall better temperament. Don't forget to introduce cats, children, and anything else that you want your dog to be familiar and comfortable with as well. Take your introductions slow! When introducing your dog to a cat, don't let the animals see each other right off the bat. Keep them in separate rooms and allow them to smell each other under the closed door. After they get used to each other's smell, let them see each other from a distance. Over several days let them get closer to each other on a regular basis, all while keeping a hold of both. Also, know that in some areas there are legal liabilities related to owning this particular breed. There have also been cases of homeowner insurance policies being denied and the breed is actually banned from ownership in some areas. Research the situation in your area before committing to this breed. American Bulldogs are a very intelligent, strong-willed, and frequently stubborn breed. This can make them a challenge to train, especially for first-time dog owners. They will need to know that you are the dominant one in the relationship and training them will require a lot of dedication and patience. It will be beneficial for you and your new pup to train with voice commands as well as hand signals. The upside to training with both of these commands is that if you are in a situation where your dog can't hear you, they can still see what you are asking them to do and can react accordingly. Giving your dog treats or praise when it does something right will help reinforce the behavior. Positive reinforcement goes a long way with this breed, as they enjoy pleasing their owners. Since this breed loves attention from the people that they are bonded with, ignoring your dog when they exhibit bad behavior will work better than other disciplinary measures. When trained and socialized well, American Bulldogs have the tools they need to judge a situation and decide when everything is OK or when they may need to act on their natural guarding instincts. During any sort of training, if you feel overwhelmed or your dog doesn't seem to be learning at a reasonable pace, consult a professional. They will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may be having about the process or techniques that you are using. Do American Bulldogs Bark a Lot? Therefore the following timeline should be followed to properly train them to behave appropriately. Early socialization teaches your dog that other animals and humans are not inherently dangerous. Experts recommend at least friends from smaller dogs to other dogs within the family or as outside acquaintances. Starting small will help your puppy cope with the new friends. Also, instead of random interactions, your dog will learn greater social skills if they are frequently around the same few animals. When considering a playmate for your puppy, make sure it has already been socialized. A socialized puppy will make your dog feel secure and safe. Allow your dog to socialize at its own pace. Please do not force the puppy into socializing as it will stress it, causing it to act aggressively, resulting in injuries and traumatic memory. American bulldogs are sensitive to emotions and show their uneasy behavior through aggression or chewing the closest objects. If you have no choice but to leave your dog at home while you go to work or school, get them an interactive play toy that will keep them occupied for prolonged periods. Interactive toys are a great way to keep your Bulldog from chewing your furniture. Step 3: Potty Training Teaching your bulldog puppy to potty in one location or outside is the third most crucial step in the training. Take Your American Bulldog Puppy Out Regularly Take the dog out every hour to the spot where you want the dog to excrete during the day for several days. So if your dog scratches the foot of the door or whines around the house, it means it wants to go for a potty. During training, the location plays a huge role, and it will help your Bulldog comply and be active during the day. This will reduce the chances of them going to the toilet inside and teach them where they should go. In addition, if your American Bulldog gets lost, he can always find his way home if he is familiar with the location. Puppy Stage: By 6 Months Your Bulldog puppy should be able to socialize peacefully with other dogs, chew on appropriate toys, and be ready to begin basic obedience training at this age. Teaching your pup to regulate the force of a bite is crucial. Take advantage of the stop in behavior by providing the puppy with something appropriate to chew on right away. Bones, chew toys, Kongs, squeaky toys, and stuffed animals are all good choices. Spaying and neutering are also methods to control aggression and other complications in American bulldogs. Spaying is done on female puppies, while neutering is done on male puppies. Related: When do Puppies Calm Down? Step 5: Teach Basic Commands Start teaching your dog with basic commands such as sit, stand, speak, rollover, and high five. Instead of negative or disciplinary reinforcements, use positive reinforcements. Step 6: Exercise Your Bulldog In Cool Temperatures American bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed due to their short muzzles, making breathing difficult on hot and humid days. If your dog is panting during training, take a break in a cool room. In addition, having a water bottle for your dog during training is highly recommended. Growth Stage: One Year Your Bulldog should know basic obedience and be acclimated to a daily feeding and exercise routine by the time they are a year old. American Bulldogs are prone to many health issues, and the most common among them are obesity and Hip Dysplasia. Engaging your American Bulldog in physical activities regularly helps to avoid these. In addition, there are numerous dog sports available to keep your Bulldog busy. Daily Walk A daily walk is necessary for an American Bulldog to release pent-up energy and maintain his health. The sights, sounds, and smells that your Ambull encounters during the walk will help to stimulate their minds. Because an American Bulldog can walk vast distances, the duration of the walk is only limited by your time and energy. Therefore, the minimal amount of time should be 30 to 45 minutes every day. High Intensity Activities In addition to the daily walk, it is critical to engage them in other activities that will tire and occupy them. Shorter, higher-intensity activities, as well as muscle-building and strength workouts, are examples. Training your pup with a flirt pole can help control its impulses. Flirt poles for dogs are made up of a handle, a pole, a cord, and a toy or lure that looks like a prey animal, similar to cat feather teasers. Flirt poles can provide them with an additional challenge by allowing them to chase a variety of various toys that you can attach. As your puppy chases the bait, you move it around the ground in circles or different directions. Playing Fetch with your Ambull is another fantastic way to release pent-up energy. This game can be played for hundreds of tosses by American Bulldogs, who are known for their love of balls and toys. In your backyard, set up an agility or obstacle course. You may make your agility with stuff you already have or purchase reasonably priced agility sets. Tug-of-war is a definite favorite of all strong dogs. To expend more energy, make them kneel and pull back. Ascertain that this is a managed game in which they only release when you want them to. A spring pole is famous among dogs that love tug-of-war. A spring pole is just a spring linked to a rope that swings from a tree branch or beam and has a lure or toy at the end. Mental Stimulation One of the most common reasons for behavior problems in dogs is boredom and high energy levels. Destructive behavior, annoying barking, digging, and even fleeing are examples of this. The American Bulldog is also a breed with a high level of intelligence. Therefore, to avoid boredom, it is critical to provide mental stimulation and difficulties. How to Make Your Training Effective? The American Bulldog is a challenging dog to train in the very beginning. However, once a command is mastered, the American Bulldog remembers the training well. Confine Your Pet Into A Training Area Allocating a confined space such as the backyard or an empty room for your Bulldog will reduce distraction during the early stage of training and help him concentrate. Then, when your Bulldog is familiar with the location and can do everything you command without hesitation, you can move on to the next level or location. It requires an enormous level of patience. At first, your Bulldog will not be obedient to you, but with repetition, your Bulldog will learn to follow your commands. Sticking To A Training Schedule Independent training can get messy, and you may end up repeating the training you did months ago. For example, some respond to aggressive training, while others learn to be obedient even without a leash. Hence, you may have to adopt different techniques in different situations. During training sessions, you must use positive reinforcement. If your dog has trouble hearing you at times, this is where hand gestures come in handy as your dog will be able to see you and follow your commands. Keep Lessons Short American bulldogs have a short attention span. As a result, avoid training for long periods. Consult A Professional Keep in touch with the local veterinarian as it will help you foresee any health-related issues that may arise in your dog. Also, consulting a professional trainer will help you gain tips on getting your American Bulldog under control. Moderate Training German Shepherds are highly trainable. It simply means they respond well, especially to positive reinforcement. Squeaky Toys Out of all toys, your pet will love the squeaky ones. More than that, he or she will also show what you can expect from him or her. Sends puppies properly A good breeder will never send a puppy in a compartment and without any responsible person to go with it. Works only with one or two breeds A good breeder works only with a single or a couple of species. Shows breeding experience A good breeder shows her dogs in recognized confirmation shows. We are very animal loving; it is just so fun to nurture them and watch them change as they grow up. If you ask both of my parents, they would tell you that I was always doctoring animals and wanting a new fur critter whenever I could talk them into it. Now as an adult with a family of my own, I have passed my love of animals to my children. My husband and I come from a background that is military and law enforcement based. This is where I found my love for the breed and began to learn about German Shepherds. While I was deployed in Iraq on my base there was a German shepherd K-9 handler assigned. I remember thinking it was the coolest thing in the world that he could say his partner was a dog. A German shepherd is such a smart and loyal animal. In my breeding, we strive to produce high quality puppies for all walks of life. Whether you are looking for a new family pet, working on the farm with herding or competing in competitive showing I offer it all. Our pups are family raised in my home right next to my children. I expose them to different size and age dogs, along with cats, and goats. Please feel free to take a look around our site and let us know if you have any questions, we would be happy to answer them. It was because of their uniquely eccentric appearance, their compactness and smallness of size, their endearing charm and loyal nature that they quickly evolved into the popular companion dog we know today. That area of England was becoming a stronghold of Bulldogs and smaller specimens which were basically throw-outs for some reason found favour with the lace workers who nurtured them as an individual breed. As a breed it has enjoyed a truly colourful history as it is claimed that French Bulldogs were at one time very much the vogue companions of prostitutes, and this is how they were first discovered by errant noblemen. Over a period of time the French Bulldog had gone from being a dog of the streets to a dog of the palaces! Breeding is certainly not for the novice as sometimes bitches must deliver by Caesarean section and the pups require constant care. Potential purchasers should be aware that Frenchies can be fairly high maintenance especially as they get older and vet bills may be large. This is an adaptable breed suitable for town or country living. A Frenchie can enjoy living as part of a family with older considerate children or with just one person. Above all the breed needs human companionship and will not thrive without it. They must live indoors and are happiest when close to their human family. French Bulldogs are more suited to a short stroll than a long hike. This breed should not be exercised in hot weather as they can be prone to heat stroke. It is said that this breed cannot swim because of its physique, so care is needed around swimming pools and water. Although they are basically gregarious they can be territorial, and in a multi-dog household it is advisable to feed dogs separately. He is alert, curious, playful, self-assured, sensitive and deeply affectionate. Frenchies have a very comical personality and love to clown around. They get along reasonably well with strangers and other animals, but often tend to bond strongly to one person. They are good with children and compatible with other pets, but sometimes they can be possessive and will challenge other dogs no matter how much bigger they are. A spirited dog, though not one to start trouble, the French Bulldog is not one to back down if challenged. They are fairly wilful, but can be trained if the owner is patient. Frenchies desire a lot of attention from their loved ones, are not yappy or loud but they may snore and be prone to flatulence! Regardless of how severely they may transgress, their antics and expression are such that they always end up making their owners laugh. Skull nearly flat between ears, domed forehead, loose skin forming symmetrical wrinkles. Lower jaw deep, square, broad, slightly undershot and well turned up. She is a highly intelligent dog, who needs a special home with an experienced, sensible owner; ideally someone who has an active outdoor life and needs a dog to accompany them. She might also be suitable for scent work as she is not large, and learns fast. She was very worried about getting into a car, but now with patience and perseverance, she travels quite happily. Her training will be ongoing as she knew very little when she came to us and has obviously suffered setbacks being moved around. She is very affectionate and loves a fuss, but gets very excited with toys and balls, so play is limited and training games are best. And she has occasional mood swings which maybe to do with her previous life. She walks with our other dogs and is fine, but can react to strange dogs if they push into her, especially if they bark at her. Lilly settles well at night and has not been upset by fireworks. She came to us from the pound and we have had her over a year. Lilly has been homed twice and returned twice — different reasons both times. We always make it clear to adopters that there is no substitute for professional help and sometimes an experienced eye can pick up something quite simple — we also give out a list of dog trainers and behaviourists who we know are thorough. Sadly this advice was not acted on. We can only say that Lilly is a delightfully friendly dog — she has never been difficult with any of the staff or volunteers at the sanctuary and even likes the vet. She can however be stubborn and sometimes needs to be coaxed into the right action. We do hope that there is the right person out there for her, who will be patient and understanding and take advice if necessary. We think that she would be best suited to a one or two person adult home. He was stolen during the early hours today. He is a black and tan Doberman x.
